@nsofianos THANK YOU. I thought they were just too young. You know it probably doesn't work because they were setuo as bugs. I haven't tried farming bugs but you probably have to be one of the bug worshiping groups or something like that. Either way, thanks for the fix.

it's located in the ~\Mods\SanguinaryAnimals\Defs\AnimalDefs folder, not the 1.4/1.5 folder like the other animals

this mod will NOT be getting updated to 1.6, got too many things going on to update all my mods unfortunately

I went to try edit the blood scarab XML as suggested below and my mod just doesn't seem to have that? Super strange

any plans to update? i love the mod, armour for the vargulf would be amazing, even if not thanks for the fantastic work

That should be the fix. "EuSocialInsectAdult" is used for the vanilla insects which you shouldn't be able to breed.

Yall, I found a solution to the scarabs not laying eggs. I have no idea what I'm doing, so take this with a grain of salt.

1. Navigate to the BloodScarab XML file within the mod folder, open with notepad.
2. Look for the lifeStageAges lists.
3. Change the def for "EuSocialInsectAdult" to "AnimalAdult". Not sure if it matters, but I did the same for all the stages (AnimalBaby, AnimalJuvenile).

No clue if there are any potential repercussions to this solution but it seems to work. Eggs are laying and babies are babying.

Same here, all my blood scarabs register as "dormant" and do not lay eggs. How can they be awoken?

Regrettably I too am having the issue were the Blood Scarabs will not lay eggs for me.

I'm having trouble getting the blood scarabs to lay eggs, should I be seeing egg lay progress on them like you do with chickens? I started a new game (all dlc) with only Harmony, VE framework, hugslib, and this mod to test. Still no egg progress. I have also tried unsubbing and resubbing.

At this point I'm mostly hoping someone else will confirm this is a me problem before I spend more time digging.

so this mod works well in 1.5? I just want to know if it will update or not.

so if you're using CE ask CE to patch them.

if your on vanilla as was the original way to play they have 0.80 sharp resist but only 0.20 blunt
they are bugs your meant to squish them, not stab or shoot them lol

@Astraeus it's because they're classified as an insectoid. Insectoids can't be selected as venerated.

Quick question, how do I get unfertilised Blood Scarab eggs? The recipe for the blood eggs need unfertilised eggs but blood scarabs will only lay eggs if they've been fertilised.

Yo, thanks for the great mod, I seem to have found a small issue, both Vargulf and Sanguine deer can be chosen as venerated animals, but not the scarab (not in the list), it is just me?

For anyone else wondering, the stairs effect comes from the mod "Simply Stairs."

Not sure the Bug is with this mod or Colony Manger from Fluffy but every Sanguary Animal is listed as juvenile in the Manager.

Loving this mod! Question; what adds those "stairs" leading up to the throne? cheers!

@renegade I know about those I have them but the black face under the hood is what Im going for. The medieval overhaul doesnt allow you to carry books like that I thought tho? I'm thinking the image is edited?
