Nanu's Pirates of Sartosa Overhaul

Description
This mod is an overhaul Pirates of Sartosa faction. Norcans, Dwarfs, Men, and Beasts of the Sea, all will sail under the Sartosan Colors and plunder in the name of Aranessa Saltspite!

This mod includes 24 new units, 4 new building chains, a new tech tree, 5 new recruitable hero types, a new recruitable lord type, 9 new Regiments of Renown, and 4 new Legendary Lords and Heroes respectively.

24 new units and 9 new Regiments of Renown!
  • Vastly extended human pirate roster, with handguns, artillery, halberdiers and more.
  • New Dwarf Buccaneer units added, with a focus on explosives and ranged weapon teams.
  • New Norscan units added, with a focus on dealing damage in melee.
  • 9 unique Regiments of Renown spanning across all cultures added, recruitable via the Piece of Eight questline.



Brand new building changes and garrison reworks
  • New building chains added, each providing unique effects and access to living units.
  • Main settlement garrisons now field living units.
  • Aranessa and all 5 legendary lords can recruit living units from their horde buildings.



New Lord subtype
  • The Sartosa Fleet Admiral is a hybrid specialist with a new skill tree that benefits the new living roster.

5 new Hero types
  • Sartosa Fleet Captains are incredible support heroes, bringing buffs and abilities to keep your pirates fighting.
  • Privateer Captains are anti large duelists, they bring valuable melee prowess and powerful buffs to your armies.
  • Dwarf Powder Cooks are expert marksmen who buff and replenish your ranged troops.
  • Norscan Reaver Captains are the ultimate killers. Send them into swathes of skavenslaves or into chosen, they'll blend up anything you throw at them.
  • Priests of Manann are powerful mages with surprising melee capabilities. Their new spell set, the Lore of Manann, gives them a balanced set of useful buffs and devastating damage spells.

5 New Legendary Lords
  • Jaego Roth has returned to take his vengeance on Noctilus and the Dreadfleet.
  • James "the 'Stache" Ashley is as bloodthirsty as they get, and the only thing more famous than his impressive mustache is his prized ship guns, which have laid waste to countless port cities.
  • Sammy Silvertongue is a renowned smuggler and infuriating duelist, he can slip in and out of both vaults and battlefields.
  • Jenny "the Whip" Wagner was a slave aboard a Black Ark, bound for Karond Kar. She was "liberated" by a Vampire Admiral who gave her the blood kiss. With her newfound power she hunts the Druchii and shows them what true pain feels like.
  • Davey Red Eye, known in a past life as Davey Dead Eye, is one of the most feared poachers on the high seas. In life he tracked and captured the fiercest beasts to sell back in Sartosa, now he has no need to take them alive.

4 New Legendary Heroes
  • Benny Redbeard made his name slaughtering his way through war after war as a privateer. He was known to switch sides to whoever paid him most, sometimes turning on men he fought with only days prior.
  • "Stinky Pete' Grudge Gut might smell like a trolls backside, but no one makes better powder, nor can they match his ingenuity.
  • Harik the Blooded, a freak of nature, blessed by Nurgle, or Manann, or both. No one really knows. What's important is that his claws can crush armor like paper.
  • Wolfram Von Kraus was once an accomplished admiral in the Imperial Navy, until his fleet was lost in a sudden maelstrom. He was the sole survivor, and has attributed his miraculous return to Manann.

FAQ

Is this save game compatible?
No. It might be, I haven't found any issues with loading it into previous saves, but changing your modlist mid campaign is never a good idea.

Is this lore friendly?



What is this compatible with?
Incompatible with mods that add new buildings or technologies to the Pirates of Sartosa faction

What about overhauls like SFO/Radious
No. Anyone else is welcome to make submods for various overhauls but I won't be.

Can I make a submod/use your assets for my own mod?
Yes. Please do in fact, I worked for weeks to create all of the assets in the mod and I'd love to see other dedicated modders use them to make quality mods the community will benefit from. Plunder away you scurvy dogs.

You will however need Dyrain's permission for the norscan head and shield textures, as well as the pirate legs. Everything else is mine.

Do you have any other plans for this faction?
Gonna start learning startpos. Make this mod multi faction with Mixu and IEE compatibility.

Hey, Im noticing strange animation stuttering on the promethian models (I think they are new, a "living" alternative for the "rotting" version). When in combat, they seem to get stuck, gitter and animation cancel, and have difficulty moving, starting attack animations, etc.This also applies to the mounts of the priest of Manaan and others. What could be the cause of this?

@tibkir Ah yeah sorry I have no passion for SFO and it keeps changing every few months which is just a ton of work to keep up with on top of the regular CA patches.

@Swinky I would love to but I have a lot going on in my life right now that I can’t devote as much time to mods as I’d like to.

I’d be happy to work with other modders or even hand off the mod to one dedicated enough to bring Jaego Roth and the other LLs added in this mod to life in their own factions, but for now my focus is on getting Dynamic RoRs ready for the next DLC

@leoman93 thanks, that worked. I used console commands to give Sartosa to the Vulture Fleet you start at war with & retook it turn 2. That fixed it. Now to plunder rhe old world!

do you still have plans to make them their own mortal faction? Similar to manann's blades in mixus mod, i'd love to retake sartosa as human pirates and start the big ol pirate armada

The Sartosa settlement gets fixed in the old world mod if it gets captured and then you take it back.
