Welcome to Vandeanson’s Apocalypse 3.0 (BETA)!
This is a complete overhaul of Vandeanson's Apocalypse and replaces the old Mod.


Vandeanson’s Apocalypse
or VA is a highly adjustable, survival sandbox framework that spices up every mission you create or play by adding sites of interests, events, enemies, survival elements and loot to your world.

VA is not a MISSION but a sandbox framework that runs along with any mission you play.

VA is using the inidb2 mod for persistency.
The Dedicated Server/Hosted MP host must have the inidb2 mod activated. (Clients don't need the mod)

Note: Add a local INIDB2 copy to your launcher (for Hosted MP Hosts) or your Dedicated Server, dedicated to the current mission/server, else you will load in player saves from previous missions/server setups.

Most Gear/Weapon Mods | Ravage (except the survival, loot and gear modules, I generall recommend to only use "Ambient AI" and "Ambient Zobies" modules together with VA) | Z&D | Devourers Necroplague Mutants | Raptors
Note: the VA Infection system only works with Ravage Zombies.

ACE COMPATIBILITY
Not compatible with ACE Medical, no plans to make it compatible

CUSTOMISATION
600+ CBA Settings to adjust most aspects of the Mod

REQUIREMENTS

This mod requires only CBA_A3.

INSTALLATION
- Subscribe to VA and activate the Mod in your A3 Launcher.

- Subscribe to
CBA_A3
and activate the Mod in your A3 Launcher.

HOW TO USE
Default
- Start your mission, VA will start spawning in its FEATURES according to the default settings.

OR

Customize VA Settings
1. Open a new or existing mission in the A3 Eden Editor.

2. Open - > Settings - > Addon Options -> Vandeanson’s Apocalypse (various sub-menus).

3. Adjust the settings to your liking (you may save your preferred settings to easily copy for another project

(press save within the CBA_A3 settings menu).

-> Make your changes under the SERVER tab and click the checkboxes to overwrite MISSION and CLIENT. This will block other players to change settings in MP and it will align the settings.

4. Save your mission in the Eden Editor. Your current settings are saved to this mission now

5. Further adjust your mission or start to play

Dedicated Servers
Adjust your VA settings for your Dedicated Server: Settings can be exported using the export function of the CBA Settings menue and be pasted into an optional file in the userconfig folder. The filepath is Arma 3\userconfig\cba_settings.sqf, where "Arma 3" is the games installation folder.
This works for a dedicated server as well as the clients, but requires the -filePatching startup parameter.

Hello, I've run into an issue. I'm using the Battle Royale Singleplayer Experience and when I run it with this mod, all the enemies, including zombies, become friendly to me.

Quicker?

Because it takes a good amount of time for loot to spawn in houses and sometimes
you go in the house and it's empty and as soon as you turn your back it
Magically spawns items inside.

I side-stepped by changing the key-bind that the mod is using to Shift-M, now when I press M, the regular map shows up.

I've just side-stepped the map problem by just using a UAV Terminal instead of the map under equipment

...I just stumbled upon the hot-key to activate the original map while playing. To open the base-game GPS map you hold shift then click the map-button. Still, that was ridiculously hard to figure out and should be readily documented. I'm leaving my downvote until I see this noted in the directions and hot-keys

For anyone struggling with what I assume is the "TAO folding map" feature permanently toggled on due to the toggle being broken in the options, you can avoid the map and access various utilities by simply dropping your map. However, this of course leaves you completely blind without a map and, as I just found out, you can't access your inventory to drop it while bleeding out, so essentially unless Vandeanson fixes this I will no longer be able to use maps at all.

downvoted for the terrible map system I can't seem to disable whatsoever. I put up with it before but it literally just cost me all my loot after being killed by a glitch and being prevented from reviving myself in Zeus because I couldn't access the standard map screen. You can put in stuff tou like but domineering how people choose to play the game they paid for is practically never justified, and if it's supposed to be togglable, you either failed to code it properly or failed to explain how to untoggle it. I am SO angry right now.
