About this Project
This Compatibility and Balance Patch tries to make the two amazing mods Long War Of The Chosen and Musashis RPG Overhaul more compatible. DISCLAIMER: This is still a very early version of this mod. There will be bugs, unsorted issues and it needs play testing. Please do read this mod description carefully to know what exactly this mod does and how to get it running!

How does it work? --> INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS <--
This Compatibilty and Balance Patch works off a curated mod list. This means it has a recommended mod setup/selection that you should be running to get a working and polished experience. This mod then does all the necessary edits to all the different mods included in the curated mod list. You can find the list and precise installation instructions HERE:

Features
This mod includes the following features:

General Fixes
RPGO breaks some Long War core features which are fixed with this patch. This includes:
  • fixed XP gain
  • Soldiers can equip LW-SMG
  • Soldiers can become LW-Officers
  • some fixes for broken specializiatons
  • ability point gain reenabled

Long War Single Item Crafting

Many RPGO plugins and their corresponding class mod introduce amazing new weapon and armor like stimguns, acolyte staffs, jedi lightsabers or super soldier armor. However due to the Long War Single Item Crafting logic some of these items are not integrated properly. This patch aims to fix this issue and introduces single item crafting to non-Long War armors and weapons.

Balanced Loot

RPGO and its plugins + LWOTC used to create insane loot pinatas that broke the Long War economy. This patch reduces the loot to standard LWOTC level.

Hero Soldier System
This mod introduces a new mechanic that changes how you gain access to psionic and "hero" specializations. There are several RPGO specializations that I deemed hero classes. Those include:

  • The SuperSoldier specializations by AmunRyu
  • The Rising Tides specializations by Aleosiss
  • The Necromancer/Shaman specializations by Ekscom
  • The Jedi specializations by Musashi
  • All psionic specializations

To get access to those hero classes this mod adds special origin (the abilities soldiers get on squaddie in RPGO) traits that need to be picked to make the respective specialization show up. The description of the origin traits will give information about the specializations they enable.

Examples for clarity
For a soldier to be able to pick Jedi specializations he needs to have the "Force User" origin trait.
For a soldier to be able to pick Cyborg (SuperSoldiers) specializations he needs to have the "Cyborg before Death" or the "Cyborg Ascension" origin trait.
For a soldier to be able to pick psionic specializations he needs to have one of 10 different psionic origin traits.

Hero Classes Weapon and Armor Balance
Due to their overpowered nature this mod makes the weapons and armor particularly expensive to craft. Additionally, even Tier 1 armor and weapons have to be crafted (e.g. you have to craft the Tier 1 NanoSuit of the SuperSoldier mod).

About Balance and the Hero Soldier System
RPGO, especially if it runs with many specialization plugins is already borderline impossible to balance. Adding LWOTC into the mix, certainly does not help with that. Thus, this mod will most certainly not create a well balanced experience like standalone LWOTC or vanilla RPGO without plugins does. This mod rather tries to integrate RPGO and many of its plugins into LWOTC introducing systems that keep the most broken offenders (looking at you SuperSoldiers) in check by making them expensive and hard to obtain. If you want a harder LWOTC with RPGO experience spice your game up with enemy mods and play on Legend!

Recommended Second Wave Options
These recommendations are just my personal preferences that I found to be fun and somewhat balanced when I playtesting this mod. It is totally fine to change these to your liking!

Origins - This will make you able to pick the origin traits for your soldiers. This plays nicely with the hero system as you can select the necessary traits to get a chance to pick the specialization you want. I usually play with a small random pool (3-5 traits).

Commanders Choice - This will make you able to pick the specializations for your soldiers. If you play with a random pool (as I do) be prepared that despite a soldier having an enabling trait like "Force User" you are NOT guaranteed to get offered the respective specialization (e.g. Jedi specializations).

Might break stuff
Random Classes - I currently have no idea how well random classes work with the Hero System. Therefore I'd advise against playing this with random classes.

Weapon Restrictions - Some RPGO plugins are still missing correct meta information about the specialization. This might break / restrict some combinations from working. This is why I personally play without it.

The Future of this Mod
RPGO and LWOTC are two very complex mods. There are probably hundreds of interactions that might break things that I overlooked / did not encounter in my initial playtesting. If you encounter any issue please let me know in the comments so I can take a look at it!

Heads up if you are using the RPG Overhaul - Jedi Specializations https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2102085393 it conflicts with this mod as it adds and requires the "force user" origin thus overwriting the "Exiled Jedi" origin perk breaking the specializations.

Please note choose this or the other until fixed.

On the Supersoldiers N7 Mod, the last Devastor Ability (Devastong Shots) dont work properly for me.
You should have 2 Shots instead of one but i have the same amount of shots with normal damage.
Anyone Else with this Problem?

Weird, Fleche doesn't work. Solider just runs up, shoots gun, deals no damage and action is used.

@Peluceus Donmian, Go to Mod Options and disable all vanilla and modded classes. It worked for me.
