Human Fane

Description
Fully changes Fane into a Human

- Origin Story and Skill remain intact
- Fane can no longer pick locks with his fingers since he's human
- he no longer heals from poison

Use this mod on a new save or one where you haven't recruited Fane yet. When installing this mod mid-playthrough, Fane will look Human but essentially be undead (heals from poison etc.).
If you want to use this mod on an existing save, change talents and skills with this: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2020334615

For him to be an Undead with a Human appearance, use my other mod "Fane With Skin".

Bugs
- none, at least there shouldn't be any
(- During character creation, 2 Encourage Skills are being shown. This is a visual bug only)

Compatibility Issues
- none known

Additional Info:
- Fane may have both, Encourage and Play Dead while using him as a companion. As a player, you will only have Encourage. (there is no to me known way to change this)
- When removing this mod mid-game, Fane will become an Undead again but he won't be able to heal from poison.
You can reinstall the mod and everything works as intented.
- This mod changes Fanes god to Rhalic. If you want to keep him aligned with Amadia,
deactivate the mod before going to the Hall of Echoes. You can activate it again afterwards.

The way to fix the god issue is to extract your save using the pak extractor into lsx format (I think there's a guide on steam that has instructions with more detail if you need). Inthe .txt file, under 'CustomPlayerData' or something, change 'race' from "Human" to "Undead_Human". (There are two 'race' entries in the .txt file, so you'll have to change the data in both, or else it won't work.) Then repack your files and load the save, and your god interactions should work perfectly.

You'll keep the same appearance and won't heal from poison, but I wouldn't recommend using the magic mirror, because it might mess up your colors.

Thanks for the infos! I'll add a little info section since I can't pin comments.

@DreXav I also tested the same thing.Activated the mod and loaded the save where you meet your god the first time. In my experience it wasn't Rhalic , it was Amadiar . But I activated the mod mid-playthrough, that may be the reason for our different experiences. I think it's safer to use @Poppaja 's other mod "Fane with skin" to avoid unintended story alterations.

Excellent mod that I was looking for all along!
There IS one pretty big and persistent negative effect that is also a relatively early game spoiler:
1) Human Fane is guided by god Rhalic instead Amadia, so you miss out a huge chunk of Fane story lore, possibly quests ;
2) I have tested saving before those scenes, disabling the human-Fane mod mid-campaign and going into the god events - it works and lets you play the Amadia scenes correctly. You will need to re-enable the mod afterwards ;

Thank you very much! I'll add a note when using this mod with an existing save. He is supposed to be fully human and not heal from poison (The other mod I made called "Fane with skin" is for that)

Hey Poppaja! I have done some tests as promised and I'm here to report the results. I did all the testing mid-playthrough on an existing skeletal Fane.
1.After the mod was loaded Fane looked Human and I was able to use the mirror to customize him further using human options. So thats definitely a win.
2.He still heals from poison and has the "undead" tag, which is also a win in my book:)
3.He takes damage from regular healing(restoration etc.)
4.Most importantly: I loaded an earlier save, where you first go to Hall of Echoes to meet your god. There are no unintended changes there, the one who greets you is still Amadia.
I thank you again for this mod, it made my roleplaying experience so much richer:)

Fane with Human appearance is now online. Ony took a power outage followed by a internet outage.

Thanks for the quick reply:) If I have the save file where you meet the player's god I'm gonna test and report the results regarding my second question.
As far as I'm aware there isn't a mod that changes Fane's visuals to human while keeping everything else as it is; I've been searching the site for a while to find exactly that, no success so far:)

1. Yes, I did when testing whithout issues but...
2. I don't know for sure, since Fane is literally the only character that works a bit different than the rest. I didn't change any "tags" (what the engine uses to identify stuff) besides the removal of the "undead" tag. It should remain the same, but no garuantee ( can't test everything, takes time :[ ).
3. Yep. If there isn't already one I can upload one.

Thanks for the mod, exactly what I was looking for:) I have a couple of questions if you don't mind:
1. Can I install this mid play-through?
2. Does it effect Fane's god being Amadia or does it change it to the human god?
3.Would it be possible to keep him undead while using human visuals?
