This mod adds a new default job option for your pilots to monitor sector activity and jump on nearest threats.

You need to set home sector in case pilot chases after an escaping enemy it knows where to return.

Option to toggle attacking different class of ships (XL/L/M/S).

Option to toggle for searching and revealing concealed ship. Log entry added for each successful reveal.

Option to toggle pursue on/off. When it is ON, your ship will attempt to follow the escaping ships through the galaxy.

Option to toggle parking around the sector core in case there is nothing else to do.

Option to toggle afterburner (boost) while approaching targets to keep the shield levels high before combat.

Option to shoot to disable (trying to keep enemy hull above 20%) in hope they would bail.

There will be more enhancements implemented in near future; like rewards by friendly factions, raising alerts on detecting invading fleets etc. I found the vanilla 'Patrol' order very simple and way too slow to react on threat.

Changes:
1.00 - initial public release
1.01 - added option to identify and hunt down plunderers and pirates.
1.02 - added option to turn on/off pursue. Default is OFF.
1.03 - fixed commandaction.attarckingto indication mistake. Thanks Vampirrou!
1.04 - added option to select ship class targets (XL/L/M/S), added option to park around sector core location in case there is nothing else to do, added option to avoid boosting while travelling to target (to save shield energy).
1.05 - added option to 'shoot to disable' at 20% threshold value for now. Not sure how that is working, so far in my testing i haven't seen anything to bail. This is using the vanilla attack script's disable feature. Also enabled squad attack flag, so subordinates will help their commander.
1.06 - adjusted approach timer
1.07 - added option to attack enemy stations
1.08 - compatibility fix for 4.10.
1.09 - compatibility fix for 5.0
1.10 - fixed awaiting orders bug. Thanks thelich for providing the fix!
1.11 - fixed bug with 7.0 where script would abort after each fight.

Thanks a bundle for this, it's a great addition to the game and works like charm. I can finally have fleets make a meaningful patrol of sectors I choose :D

would it be possible to add a station "ticker" as i like to use this for kha'ak sectors to train my rookies(keep my factory sector clean for my miners) or an option to exclude an area of a sector, as they regularily suicide at their hive...

The behavior of ships and the customisability of orders with this mod is perfect.

Do crew earn experience with the sector patrol order? I've had a ship on sector patrol in a Khaak sector for many hours and they've killed a lot of ships. The capain's moral has gone up, but the piloting skill is the same as when I started. Not sure if this is ship order/mod specific or a vanilla issue.

"Conserve shield energy" just doesnt seem to work at all. They boost around and lose all their shields constantly, for me

trying to make a fleet with the commander using this default behavior. what is the the best setting for the subordinates? tried to mimic commander but they said cannot mimic

Thanks for the mod, works fantastic. Its especially great for keeping sectors clear of pirates around space stations. The sector patrol order has them immediately hunt down any pirates or hive that make an appearance in that sector.

Ships are just sitting in the middle of a sector, is this expected behaviour?

I'm friends with FRF and FAF, won't my patrol ships unmask them and then attack them? I would hate to lose valuable allies.

MisterLious: This mod is really not for the early game stages, you should use it when you have a reasonable sized squad (1-3 destroyers + support frigates) and you want to keep the sector 'clean' :)
