The Templar

Description
Sworn to his liege, champion of the Five Ideals, the Templar quests to cleanse the Spire of corruption. Arm yourself with a legendary weapon of the sacred order of knights and seek the blessings of the divine to aid you. Be courageous; a knight of the order challenges the strongest foes!

The Templar is a playable character mod which is a collaboration with my best friend @searcian who always plays a paladin. We worked together to create the character concept, mechanics, and balancing. All art, animations, and programming by me.

The Templar mod contains:
* 75 cards
* 11 relics
* 3 potions

Templar themes:
* Blessing keyword: when you have exactly 5 cards in your hand, trigger a stronger or additional effect.
* Glyphs: when you inscribe two glyphs, remove them both and they each trigger an effect, with a bonus for a matching pair.
* Holy Weapons: a cycle of 5 Rare cards with powerful effects that cannot stack. You may only have one Holy Weapon equipped at a time.
* Empowered: an enemy with any of the Burning Elite buffs or Metallicize counts as Empowered, which triggers some card effects.

I noticed that debuffs are not activating/deactivating as they do in the base game for some cases. 'Reckless Sweep' for instance states that you gain '1 frail' which should be removed at the start of your next turn, but it doesn't, meaning the card should state 'gain 2 frail'. I also notice the same thing happens with the Time Eater's 'draw one less card' debuff which actually lasts for 2 turns when it should only last for one. This is a really bad debuff for this character as well since 'blessing' is a large part of most decks.

Love this mod, my only issue is that I think holy strike is a bit too strong and easy to infinite with. Maybe make it 1 mana or higher rarity? Overall the mod is great, though.

Just read your comment on balance changes and I agree. Don't wanna see this mod go the way of The Hermit where almost everything has been changed for better or worse.

Just got an infinite with Flame of Heaven myself and 2x holy strikes. That card is madness. RNG was definitely on my side as well. It was one of the most cohesive decks I've ever had. Mummified hand, 2x card that draws and exhausts a card, Power that channels a zeal at the start of turn, Paragon Form, 2x innervates, 2x bulwark and block card (mirrored), 2x providence (I think it's called) and even more pulls I can't remember. Even got shuriken from the Shield & Spear fight right before the heart. Great mod but I agree that holy strike probably needs to be an uncommon at least. Really fun character though.

Really cool mod! Just wondering, would it be possible to list the active glyph under the character buffs/debuffs tootip as well? I like playing with a controller / Deck and there doesn't seem to be a way to view the active glyph without mousing over it. Not the biggest deal in the world as there's not that much to memorize but would be appreciated if possible.

yeah.....gave it another try after a couple of months, first run got into infinite loop. flame of heaven is too good, holy strike being a common card is a #lol. Still one of my favs out there!

I took the opportunity to nerf a couple of the Zeal cards, because I agreed with you. I ended up reducing the Zeal gained on Fanaticism (it shouldn't be better than Adrenaline, really) and reduced the block on Flame of Heaven (rather than remove...I prefer small adjustments rather than big ones).

No problem. If I had to rebalance it, I would remove the block from Flame of Heaven (or maybe make it minimal), so that you have to be more careful not to neglect defense while comboing.
