[WOTC] Colonial Marines M41A Pulse Rifle

Added support for Iridar's underbarrel attachments , you will also need Weapon Skin Replacer - Core in order to have it working as intended.




For my first mod i decided to add the M41A Pulse Rifle from the James Cameron movie "Aliens", with new sounds, UI icon and tintable skin + camo. For a long time i wished to play with the colonial marines weapons in XCom, sadly the only pulse rifle mod in the workshop is not compatible with WotC, so i decided do one myself. Of course i'm not an experience modder, so is not top of the line, but it works and i haven't got any error, bugs or crashes.

Hopefully no one encounters any problems. It comes for free like the vanilla rifle and it automatically upgrades with all 3 tiers. X2WotC highlander and the Alternative Mod Launcher are not really needed but recommended. I recommend suscribing to the Colonial Marines armor mod here on the workshop for the full experience ;)

Just to be sure, use it only on a new save game, on new games weapon mods tend not to update until you research a new weapon tier. All feedback and criticism is welcome, just remember to fire short controlled bursts .

@Ruloner thats super weird, i've never experienced a conflict like that (if there's any). My guess is that you already checked the mod using AML launcher. The only solution that comes to mind is checking the error messages on the red screen (command line: -redscreen, you can set it up on AML settings). I wish i could do more but i don't really know the ins and out of xcom modding, im just a dude who wanted this iconic rifle ingame.

Started new campaign and didn't work. After weapons research, the same result. Maybe a conflict between mods? I have installed the Mass Effect weapons and they're present...

@Ruloner Thats a bummer, are you playing on a new game or in an active campaing? The rifle works just like the conventional rifle, and when you research a new tier, it upgrades with it.

Hi, guys!

I'm trying to run the mod but it doesn't work. Does the rifle appear as any other weapon mod? Do I have to do something specifically? Also, I can't use the weapon skins unless I disable the Community Highlander mod.

Do you think it'd be hard to balance it and make more tiers for the LWOTC? Really tempted to get it if you say it works that well. I've always -REALLY- liked the squad selection you had in LW2. Does LWOTC have that?

Maybe I can just add you on Disc or Steam so not to spam here lol

I havn't actually made a mod for Xcom2 yet, just edited other mods for personal use lol but the Colonial Marines Armour mod while being a great mod has textures that are just off for a movie Marines team.
This mod should work fine even for LWOTC if you start a new game with it as weapon mods tend to be a bit iffy when installing mid campaign, although balance will be completely off for LWOTC.

Ohhh I remember I think you're the one I argued with in that mod page luls. Did you ever re-upload it, then? And any idea to the other mods I mentioned or if you can get this one to work?

I had to considerably improve the textures in Colonial Marines Armour mod for my game as they are so washed out and the pieces like the shoulder lamps, helmet cams, armor straps etc are all the wrong colour being light beige, had to recolour those dark green.
