Description
This mod adds 11 blocks

I am using the same models as the originals blocks except for the Battery sink i am using a jumpdrive block instead

The ships tools:
Large and small Advanced welders
Large and small Advanced grinders
Large and small Advanced Ore detectors
update : Added the Large and small Advanced drills

The Advanced Grinders and welders have a much bigger range then the vanilla ones
But they need much more materials to build, including gravity components for the large grinder,
and thruster components for the large welders.

The advanced drills have about double the range they had and the offset has been increased as well
To balance them they need superconductor and gravity components and has about twice the weight as well

The ore detectors have a range of of 650m for the large grid and 250 for the small grid
they also take much more components to build making them more expensive and heavier

The extras:
Large advanced Laser Antenna
Large battery Sink
Large tactical warhead

Those 3 blocks are more for admins than survival play but I balanced them. They all need much more resources than the vanilla.

They all need zonechips that can only be bought in NPC stations.10 zonechip for the warhead and 100 for the antenna and battery. Also if you grind the antenna or battery the zonechips are reduced to scrap metals

The advanced laser antenna is like the vanilla one but use 100 less power for the same range

The battery sink is a battery that have 360 MW max input /output instead of 12 MW and a capacity 300MW instead of 3MW

The tactical warhead has about 2-3 times the radius of the original warhead but nothing in that radius will survive! (it has about 600 times the destructive capacity of the original warhead)

The reasoning for those blocks:

Having ship grinders and welders for a more mid to end game building & salvaging options. Without using the Mod Nanobot Build and Repair System. (incredible mod but i find that it make the game to easy at the start)

The goal for the large drills was to be able to have one space between 2 drills and be able to drill normally, so to drill a 3*3 square you need 4 drills instead of 9. As for the small drills i was having problems with vertical small grid miners had to put over 14 drills on it to work reliably. Now i can replace them with 6 drills to cover the bottom of the same ship.

For the Ore detector: The original ones were designed when the asteroids were not as big and the ore not so deep into them.
On the planets I normally use a mod that makes the resource deeper and more rare. So i would always add another ore detector mod, this reduce the number of mod i use at the same time

The extra blocks are more as rewards blocks the player can find in stations and/or for scenario building

Hello OGxSnakexEyez

It should not come into conflict with weaponcore and the mods dependent on it.

I did not test with all of the weaponcore mods because I normally do not use weaponcore. but I did play a few times with NorthWind Weapons (that is weaponcore dependent) and never had problems with it.

Hello REV4666,

I had assumed that and actually fully agree with you. I wouldn't change it at all except for scenarios we play like 'Escape from Mars' where we don't normally find platinum or thruster components. Thank you for the permission to publish a custom version for our games. I will let you know if I do post one and it will be linked back to this one. :)

Hello Tiger, I am glad you enjoy this mod.

The reason I put the Thruster component in the large welders is to make them more endgame kind of stuff and you need to find Platinum, loot NPC or buy it from NPC traders.

If you are not convinced and still want to make the changes here is how:

The folder for the mod will be in your steamApps workshop content:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\"your SteamID number"\2391575909

And the file that has the parts is in the data folder it's named CubeBlocks_Tools.sbc

you won't be able to change it there
you will need to copy that whole 2391575909 folder to your %AppData%\Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Mods\ folder, change the name to something else and make the modifications you want there

Unfortunately, when you use the mods in the roaming folder you won't be able to play in a multiplayer game so you will need to publish it.

If you do publish it, please refer to this mod as the original mod in the description of your mod.

Hello and thank you for this fabulous mod!

Really wish that these tools were vanilla. They are SO much better! My friends and I use this mod all of the time. For the life of me I don't understand why Keen doesn't include tiered blocks of some sort to reduce the number of PCU heavy blocks needed to accomplish something with tools or production equipment. It would help with a feel of progression too.

My friends and I have been talking about doing a few scenario play throughs on planets and it occurred to me that the welders require thruster components which can't be made on planets. I was looking for a config file or the mod file to change out the components, but I could not find them anywhere.

Where could I look to find the files (if the config file exists at all)? Or is there another way to switch these components that I am not thinking of?

@Unruly Sorry I was away from the game for the last month or so,

That audio file was not supposed to be there. It's a file I made for testing only, i was having a problem that the thrusters sound Often got stuck in a loop and was quite loud. the only way to stop it was to reload the session.

So i made that file to lower that sound to tolerable level when it got stuck and it got published by accident when i made the update for the advanced drill

i removed the file from the mod so everything now should be fine now
