Description
This is the Race "Fungi" from my mod Tribal Fungi Core.

Background (lite)

Once enslaved, mistreated, and tortured, the Fungi endured a harrowing existence with a life expectancy cruelly limited to just 15 years. Yet, through a violent uprising and daring escape, they broke free from their chains and forged a new path for themselves. Over thousands of years, the memories of their traumatic past gradually faded into obscurity as they embraced a tribal way of life, focusing solely on survival in their newfound freedom.

Today, scattered across the galaxy, scientists speculate about their origins, labeling them as genetically altered humans. However, the truth of their past remains shrouded in mystery, lost to the annals of time. In the regions where they now reside, memories of their enslavement have faded, replaced by a primal instinct for survival and a determination to thrive in their tribal existence.

Defining Traits

The Fungi exhibit nocturnal tendencies, thriving under the cover of darkness as natural night owls. Unfazed by nudity, they roam their habitats with ease.

Their dietary preferences are equally unconventional, as they partake in consuming corpses and humanoid meat, albeit only when cooked to their liking. Despite their culinary choices, they remain civilized beings, distinct from mere animals.

Preferring warmer climates, the Fungi struggle to survive in colder habitats, their physiology ill-suited to the chill. Yet, they find solace in the company of their beloved shroomimals, loyal companions who accompany them on their nocturnal journeys.

However, caution is warranted, as shroomimals possess a potent defense mechanism. With a sting of their tail, they inject a flesh-eating spore infection into their victims, inducing excruciating pain and relentless vomiting. While treatable, failure to address the infection swiftly can result in a rapid demise for the afflicted.


Obviously, you need Humanoid Alien Races 2.0, Big Credits to Erdelf for making other races possible.

Thanks to Ogliss, he provided the initial code back then in 1.2 to make this race growable and helped me back then since i had no idea about modding! You may be interested in his mods if you like warhammer. Check his mods out!

I made a folder with the old textures for that reason, you can just swap them out. Its in the folder with the head textures.

I am disappointed in the change of their heads. I REALLY liked the oriignal graphics. Why not add them as additions?

Update:
-I have redrawn every single one of the 34 Headtypes to make them more rimworld friendly than before.

-I also increased the head-size.

Little Update

I set the min generation age of pawnkinds a bit higher to avoid them being spawned as babies without body textures.

Replaced the ancient faction icons on the world map with new ones and added a mod icon.

Thank you for letting me know! I just looked at the wanderer pawnkinds and they are FungiMelee and TSPFungiSlave. They are generated with at least 2 years. I tried setting it higher and didnt get the problem mentioned by you anymore.

EDIT: For some reason, the heretofore mentioned Fungi was spawned with the Fat Body Type despite being a Child. The Fungi was added by the Wanderer Joins Incident, and was two years old.

Hello, my friend. I just wanted to inform you that I have got an error where a Texture is missing for a female Fungi with the Fat Body Type. She appears as a pink square. However, if I go into the cheat codes and set her to have a Body Type using that, I can set it to Fat and make the square go away, only for it to return when I reload.

I discovered that your Race is missing the Hulk Body Type. Even though the Fungi don't use it, it can sometimes spawn in by way of Backstories and Genes, so you should ALWAYS have a Sprite for it in the files.

Update for 1.5 added.

Slightly altered the starting scenario. Instead of 4 shroomimals , you´ll now start with 2 shroomimals , 1 shroomigiant and 2 shroople.

For the Future i'll add a subrace. Fly agaric Fungi. But not in the near future :D Drawing this takes time.

Update:

All Fungi bodies have undergone a significant overhaul, now more human-shaped without stubs.

Worm animals are now exclusively green. I wasn't a fan of multicolored worms.

Added Timeberry extract, craftable at the crafting spot. It has weird effects on normal pawns and will regenerate every shroom animal body part.

Introduced a new trait: "Genetic Memory." Fungi can now remember skills from their ancestors and start with higher skills. This is to counter the low skills caused by the age curve, which generates them with stats similar to human children.

Wormgiants now have overhauled textures.
