Vanilla Maps - REMASTERED

Description
Welcome to Shady Strands!

This map is a complete overhaul of the base-game map, Shady Strands. The old map came with the game purchase, but I was never intrigued by the vanilla maps, so I decided to remaster every single one.

Also, it requires Mass Transit due to the steep climbs on the outside of the map, so using 3-lane highways would not look realistic. Upgrading to the 3-lane highways would also require a complete overhaul in some areas, so I will not upload a dlc-free version. I'm sorry =(

Some Info

This map closely resembles the base-game map. But as you notice, it is quite balanced and not lumpy bumpy like the old version. I wanted to have a lot of build plain for large builds, but also varying heights for some challenge and interest. The rivers are almost the same as the old map as well, but they don't carve steep, ugly cliffs through mountains. I also added a small river to add some more interest and break up the area a bit.

The rail line was quite challenging to keep it within real-life tolerances. The line climbs/descends almost the entire length of the playable area, with some flat areas for sidings and other branches. But it's still miles better than the old rail line.

The castles and other ruins at the top of the mountain is all from the old map, and I liked them so I decided to keep them.

[NOTE:]

This map can be played with either all 25 vanilla tiles, or all 81 tiles.

I know my comment is coming over a year newer than others, but I just grabbed this and i'm also getting the "no theme" error - it's not a problem though. Once map loads, just use Theme Mixer to add it in and i'm on my way. :)

Without a doubt, this is the absolute best map I have ever played on. The way you have it set up with shipping routes on both sides of the map? *Chef's Kiss* Perfection. Still patiently waiting for Arid Plains, but now that I started a new build on this map I'll have to run two cities at the same time. It has everything. They should have had a map like this come with the Sunset Harbor DLC. How am I suppose to fish for Tuna when you give me no place to fish for Tuna Paradox? Anyway, you are my new favorite mapmaker. Keep em coming. This is awesome!

This really is a great map. Highly adaptable and very fun to build on!

Yes that's what I though as well. And yes, I do see the theme I think because as I said, it looks different than what I am used to. Very beautiful mind you.
Anyway, thanks for your feedback.
Please make some more of these remastered vanilla maps. The vanilla ones are depressing and boring. I even test drove the look of your maps with my 6 year old kid and it was 100% approved!

Thank you for the feedback :)
I do believe that the theme error is a bug, as it also happens to me when loading a fresh map. If the map looks and plays the same as you intended, then the error can just be ignored. I tend to just ignore them since it's not a game-breaking bug.

@SanditeSpartan. Many thanks for the beautiful map. I also have your Islands map. Also beautiful. But I am seeing the same thing as @sunsanvil. I get the same message for both maps even though I have downloaded the map theme and have enabled it.
I do think that the theme is on when I play the maps because I haven't seen similar lighting effects otherwise, but I don't know why I am getting this message before starting a game.

It's because I made this map using the Oklahoma Summer theme. If you download it and enable it, the message will disappear. But you don't need my theme to play the map.

I'm getting a message that "The custom map theme used by this map or save is missing" when I try to start a new game with this map...?
