Description : Stats are shown with 100% crew, not overboosted engines. I had the idea for a Heavy Cruiser for a while and by request I've managed to finish it. Took a different design choice inspired by the Limen Cruiser while offering some light railgun protection with limited armour layout. The scale of the ship got a bit larger than I wanted as it's more on the battlecruiser side of the scale than a true inbetween, but ended up being a faster and more armoured version of the Battlecruiser. Engines drain a lot of energy but there's lots of framework to customize the ship as you want.

Finally finished the whole lineup from Corvette (system slot 3) to Battleship(system slot 9) and it feels nice to have a whole lineup now. This is maybe my favorite ship design I've done so far utilizing a lot I've learned from playing/creating ships. Thank you all for using/liking their designs. Have tried to make them as functional as possible while also having some flare.

Lore: With lessons learned from the Limen Class Cruiser, a new specialty cruiser was designed. Due to it's size and performance it blurs the line between Battlecruiser and Heavy Cruiser. The Abyssal Class Heavy Cruiser was picked up by the covert ops division of the fleet while also serving as the flag ship for General Fazar himself. Though limited in it's logistical capability compared to the Preeminence Class Battlecruiser, it is considered equal or superior in many combat scenarios. It's stock design suffers from engines too powerful for it's power plant limiting it's boost potential.

Really glad to hear that Miakeus. That was the idea for my ships to be easily upgraded/changed for people. Seen some creative takes on my work through the years.

Honestly this ship is so underrated. I was able to retrofit it so easily. So good can't thumbs up it enough. Changed the way I play this game. :steamhappy:

Really glad it worked out for you George. This is one of my old favorites too.

This is my favorite ship on the workshop. I like how it looks and handles and how strong it is. I particularly love how expandable it is. There are many framework blocks and some of them are in the right positions to become usable hangers! Thank you for this ship!

That's awesome to see DOSorDIE. Also thank you for the kind words. Yeah ship design can take a long time sometimes.

After a little deaster with the WFL Preeminence MK II (sorry fight near a astroid is with that wings a nogo for me) i found that little pearl. Modify it a little bit and colored it and cut the nose (that ship is a little to long for MY taste). Now its the new star in my fleet. The Limen MK II still there but it has now a another important role.

Really happy to hear that GulfXray.

Thanks Haurbis! I am trying the top center-line flat area - seems to work very well. Added some shields and hyperspace drives - still a lot of framework left. Took it for a quick shakedown cruise through some hidden mass sectors (albeit outer area) and this thing is GREAT! Working up another Reliquary to tag along as salvager and general hauler. I may have the nucleus of a raiding fleet thanks to you!

Hey GulfXRay, I think on the wings or sides can help a lot. Like some of the flat armour pieces on the thrusters. Otherwise the slops on the top is what I usually did and it mostly worked out.

These were slightly older designs where I never thought of how to fit the turrets yet

I like this one! Where is a good place to mount the guns? I have used the cruiser and when mounted on the nose I always shot low - when I raised the nose it blocked the view.
