Japanese Castle

Description
I noticed the east asian castle had paper exterior walls so it had to go sry
also open balconies all around? Open doors with a staircase leading right to it Did it really have any business calling itself a castle? A shameful displray!

Buckle down and batten the hatches with this much more defensible building, featuring plunging fire galleries, arrow slits, shutters, and solid walls wow!

Inspiration drawn from Himeji and Matsumoto castles of course, but also a good bit of detail gleaned from Yamato-Koriyama castle. I wanted a multi-towered compact complex and not just a single tower keep, Matsumoto and Himeji did that well.

Updated: Fixed the interpolation issues on the stone and foliage, and added spikes! ouchie!
Also screwed around with the roof a bit i dunno interpolation settings were not kind to it.

@meboosta, those are galleries for plunging fire, it makes it so that defenders can pour any number of deterring materials, or shoot at soldiers who would otherwise be safe at the base of the wall, from inside the castle. Think of them as the japanese castle equivalent to machicolations.
Glad you like it!

@LordGood Just a quick question regarding the edges of the castle where the wooden structure meets the stone base -- is the wood supposed to stick out past the stone like that (particularly at the corners)? Or was the stone base supposed to be flush with the wood? Not a criticism of your work by any means, this is by far my favorite Japanese castle out of all the mods I've ever seen, just genuinely curious.

Are you planning to make a Byzantines Castle as well?

I don't hate IA, I like the concept behind it. I'm not going to dedicate that much time to a data mod I dont even use though. These castles alone take me upwards of 12 hours to make, there's no way I'm overhauling whole civilizations

I noticed you hate IA, but I think I'd like to ask. Could you edentually do an IA total conversion for Japanease in this style?

Most of the architecture style in Age 2 are king of fallacy... Maybe because of Age 3 or other games, vanilla castle always reminded me Japanese... Thanks for information :D

@Hordigo this one is japanese, the original is a fallacy. There are much better designs for Korean and Chinese castles, ones based Suwon Hwaseong and Jiayuguon pass fortress respectively come to mind first, personally.
