Update to rifle bones position, cheek comb and a few other minor tweaks.

V1.1.0
Retexture of all rifles.
Two new ammunition types added - Berger .338 OTM and .308 Juggernaut OTM which, although primarily aimed at when using ACE3, should better balance the calibres available.

This mod brings you the Accuracy International AXMC series of sniper rifles.
At present, all 3 calibres are available but only in the longest barrel options.
This means .338 Lapua Magnum in 27” barrel, .300 WinMag in 26” barrel and .308Win (7.62x51mm NATO) in 26” barrel.
All 5 factory colours are available.

The mod features custom ammo (although this is primarily tuned to suit the ACE3 environment – compatibility mod https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?edit=true&id=1511234414) as well as manual bolting.
The manual bolting/reloading is setup so continuing to hold your breath or the trigger after firing will delay the bolting/reloading to allow view through optics of the fall of shot on target.
Note: this is the stand-alone version of the AI AXMC rifles – these rifles have been included in SPS-Weapons and SPS-Weapons-Vanilla-Version.

You can try changing texture quality in your video settings to see if it's related to using 4K textures. But after the initial load, there's big performance benefits to running 1x4K texture as opposed to 4x2K texture.
You can also try dropping your object quality setting. This will use lower resolution LODs at closer distances (i.e. the game will render less verticies)

You might need to re-start the game between setting changes to ensure the game re-loads the assets properly so see if either of these things change your issue.

I don't get anything happening for seconds. Like I say, I do get a slight hesitation as the textures are loaded for the first time. (But then no issues again after that.) I play in 4K and I remember this hesitation being shorter when running at lower resolutions so I'm surprised at the issue you have.

Thank you for clarifying. As with so many things in modded Arma, there will be lag spikes, I hear you. We adapted the rifle about a year ago; however, the lag was always there I reckon, and it was only correlated recently. The final testing environment was simply the ACE arsenal and a few performance tools monitoring while flicking through the weapons, which helped narrow it down. The GPU load doubled for a few seconds after loading the weapon into the cache. The issue came up when pilots in our unit noticed a significant stutter when viewing my callsign from a distance, but they hadn’t connected the dots earlier. I feel rude for asking, beggars can’t be choosers, but is there a way we could lower the resolution for a test? I’m hell-bent on keeping this weapon active. I don’t pretend to know as much as you or the people leading my unit, but this seems the best guess as to the cause. We drop many awesome mods in UKSF to keep Arma playable for everyone.

The mod has not been updated for about 4 years so I don't know why you'd suddenly start getting lags on loading now.
The model isn't hugely complex but does use fairly high resolution textures.
Lots of SPS stuff, we see a slight flicker of the textures on the model when the game first loads the texture (and creates its mipmaps) but I wouldn't say we see a lag spike.

Lag spikes are normally script related. This weapon uses a very basic bolt action script (I think it's CBAs but can't remember now) so perhaps that's now being affected by another mod you are using?

I would like to thank you for the hours and hours of fun I’ve had with this beautiful weapon mod. I look forward to every Saturday, because that’s the day I get to snipe in my favorite game, and for the past year or so, the AXMC you created has been our go-to SF sniper platform, officially retiring the L115A3.

Let me get straight to the point. Recently, we’ve noticed that this mod causes a significant lag spike when loading in. We suspect this may be due to a very complex model, high-resolution textures, or perhaps a combination of both. The search has begun for a replacement, but I still hold out hope that there’s a way to optimize the mod so that the ancient game that is Arma can better handle this high-fidelity masterpiece.

Do you have any thoughts, insights, or suggestions? I wonder if using lower-resolution textures might help alleviate the issue.

Thanks for the update I totally get you’re slammed, but please consider the AX50 when you get a spare minute, the Accuracy International AX50 is an absolute dream platform for long range play unique look, superb ergonomics, and ELR ballistics that’d sit somewhere between a TAC-50’s reach and a modern precision chassis it would be insanely popular with SPS players who love authentic extreme range sniping. Really appreciate all the work you’ve already put into SPS and would be absolutely stoked to see this added whenever you can squeeze it in Thanx S!.

@Steve Yes i know the standard and they are compatible each other. Ammos physical size is also different. Shouldn't the guns name be different if .308 ammo isn't available or are you planning to bring some love for .308 to the game, that would be very nice addition? Plz? ;)

7.62x51 is the NATO standard of .308. They are identical calibre - a bit like .223 and 5.56x45.
Technically, they are not identical. .308 has a higher max pressure than 7.62 and 5.56 has a higher max pressure than .223 but discounting this, they are interchangeable.
