Realistic Balance Tweak

Description
Sid Meier said the game is a series of meaningful choices. Unfortunately, there are not many choices for Civilization 6. At first, expand until you can. And exploit cities before districts becomes very expensive. If it does not seem to be able to win, it is only war. Therefore I made exploration, exploitation, expansion and extermination more meaningful.
(All changes are in change log)


1. Realistic Exploration
Units with 2 movement is really slow because they waste a movement when they go through features(forest,jungle,marsh) or terrain(hills,river). Units should have at least 3 movements to explore rough world.

2. Realistic Exploitation
Since Hills only provide only productions, you have to think more carefully. Earlier lumbermill replaces just harvesting every forests. Lastly, Many buildings is worth enough to build. They will help you to grow tall city.

3. Realistric Expansion
Construct roads faster and military engineers can build 8 tiles of road. District cost inflation is now mitigated so that you can expand your empire in late era. Though harvesting is nurfed, yields from harvesting is doubled after Industrialization. Factory and Power Plants are now powerful and especially good for wide empire.

4. Realistic Extermination
In Civ6, play is dependent on strategic resources too much. They limit your choices and annoyed because your fault is nothing but bad luck. Strategic resources is still important but do not narrow your choices. In the past, players can fight because they have the strategic resource. Conversely, you will fight to secure strategic resources. Finally, diverse units can be used due to the change of counter system. I can not agree with the opinion that swordman take combat bonus against spearman. Spear is longer than sword and that point is further maximized in group battles. Swordman should be strong against archers because they have a sheilds to block arrows while spear can't block arrows IMO.

5. Religion
Pantheon, Beliefs are changed to make more options. Religion is important for religious victory, but it is also important for other victories.

Have you NOT seen the movie 300?

I miss the javelin unit. I'd rather have that as my first 'ranged' unit instead of the slinger becuase the javelin unit also used a shield.

does the mod require R&F to use it? Because it does not work for me and I only have civ 6 + dlc.

However, there are not only disadvantages to conquering players. The increased maintenance cost means that the enemy has less troops. And more movement of units will make your conquest easier. Now the conquest can and should be done quickly like Sun tzu said.

War after the current upgrade was too powerful. You could conquer quickly with high tech veteran units in a small amount of money before. But now you have to pay as much gold as you say for earlier timing, or choose to abandon a veteran unit and create a new high tech unit to attack with a small amount of money. In addition, you should consider maintenance costs as well. The previous low maintenance costs and many units you have just tired your fingers.

I like a lot of the changes that this mod brings to the game, but I wonder how civs like Macedon or the Zulus will fare due to the doubled unit maintanence and inceased upgrade cost. The only thing I can think of is building up a few commercial hubs before going to war to help out with the costs.
