Description
Warning:
This map is unnecessarily high-detailed, and so if you struggle to run maps/games in city skylines this map would not be good for your pc. Starting the game with lowered graphic settings is recommended.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Info
----------------------------------------------------------------
Usable land:
High, but multi-tiered and sloped.

Resources:
Ore- Most abundant
Forestry-abundant
Fertile Lands- Almost non-existent
Oil-low
(See images for more information)

Climate-
Temperate/Boreal

Energy
Many high wind areas, and rivers for dams.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Access to the Mountains
----------------------------------------------------------------
Planes-
A plane route goes directly across the map.

Boats-
There are no boat connections, this is supposed to be in the middle of the mountains and so oil tankers and cruise ships up here are unrealistic.

Roads-
There is a highway that spans across one side of the fog and there are two highways that enter the 25 squares.

Trains-
There are two train connections to the area parallel to the highways.

Side Notes
----------------------------------------------------------------
1. I didn’t include even half of the castles that are within the map in the screenshots, and one of the main 3 castles are not in the screenshots so there will be something new to see! :)
2. There are many castles in this map and so if you wish to delete them, I highly recommend using Move it's drag and delete tool for a quick delete.
3. There are many many trees in this map, and so its highly recommended to use Unlimited trees mod set to max, but I am unsure if there are alternatives to this mod so I didnt make it required.

Soedric : I can't remember who said it, but: There is no such thing as bad publicity. :steamhappy:

That is true, you did post that afterward and that showed people's rating, so they cannot be upset about that particularly. Yeah the map isn't exactly for everyone's tastes. Thank you, I appreciate that, and I recognize the points many people have made against the map. That is true as well!

At the end of the day, I presented without bias 12 'best of' maps, and I'm sure everyone will find at least one that they like. Personally I couldn't play Cordilleras, I don't have the skill or vision, but it doesn't mean I'm not blown away by it. That's why it won. I stand by that. People can always use the Steam Charts if they don't like my show (which is just an entertainment show after all) :D

@DusKeyOwl : the ratings when he reviews Maps (including this one) stays the same.
THIS list of his "most memorable" Maps are just that .. HIS choice, and it has nothing to do with the overall ratings .
I think you rather missed the point of this 6 part series. Well: you did get part of the point: BonBonB gushing over the detail.
BBB couldn't give a SOA because of the low playability. ... and that proves he doesn't let his own bias dictate scoring. But it does give him the right to make 6 shows a year where he tells us which maps were his most memorable.

I certainly agree Hendrik, this is a passtime after all so best to enjoy it as that, rather than a popularity contest/ 'political' arguement. I take pride in making mountainous/ not 'easy' maps haha! Thank you again, and I am actually currently working on an addition to the Crimson Cordilleras as we speak.

DuskeyOwl, I feel as though people should aknowledge that the channel is solely based on his opinion on his 3 part grading system, and take it for what it is. As with opinions in general, there are bound to be arguements and disagreements. His channel stands alone as the only Cities Skylines Review channel, and so he is in his full right to do as he pleases. Yeah his grading of my map wasn't 5,5,5 and didn't have a SOA, but he stated his reasoning in the comments of his video. His channel doesn't have a panel of judges, so there are bound to be choices that people are going to disagree with, and he probably knew all this very well when he uploaded it.

I believe this deserved an honourable mention in Bon Bon's Map of the Year. However Bon Bon's own standards in judging maps is questionable in making this Map of the Year. An interesting Fantasy map, but Bon Bon gushing over the detail, and not giving it his seal of approval certainly makes his future map ratings questionable.

I will say the mapmaker loves making interesting maps please continue. What makes you unique is the scheer difference in style. I am looking forward to future maps.

My pleasure ..... you play this game very well ... and you play it for YOUR pleasure --- and you share some pretty damn good work with us.
Don't worry about a few people who wanted a different map .... there is also a lot of politics going on. Let the boring people have their easy boring flat maps. there are plenty people who like something unique like your maps.
Also - BonBonB will be just fine ... controversy is also good for his channel.
And for you ... I really look forward to your next maps. :-)

I completely understand what you are saying, but I can't help but feel bad for all the backlash that he is receiving for his choice. Zoso and Ecania are very skilled builders and choosing my rough around the edges unnecessary map might make viewers feel resentful and question his future choices.

I really do appreciate the words he has said, and the kind words you and many of the commentors of his videos have said. I spend a long time on my maps, and despite them not being popular among other maps, I use the game solely as my medium to create RPG inspired geography and aesthetic environments. Many individuals prefer functionality/full highway setups over pure aesthetics, so I do see where many people are coming from.

Hating comments might be hating comments, but there can usually be a lot to learn and some truth in them. :) So I always try to see their perspective.

Thank you again Hendrik!:Frozen_Rose:
