if you want a small pointer to get you started. if you go to your space engineers installation folder "Content > Data" there are a BUNCH of .sbc files you can go in and edit.
they're all labled with what they are and if you use a text editor like notepad++ (which is a completely free to download - super light weight program) you can go in and change values to your liking. it probably won't let you make significant changes to the behaviour but you can tweak a bunch of things!
if you go to SteamLibrary > steamapps > workshop > content > 244850 > 3303097957 (which is this mod's directory) you can snoop around my frankly really messy code and figure some stuff out.
i'm personally a mediocre artist, far from a programmer, and i figured it out. i bet my ass so can you.
P.S. this is a delicious mod
it's honestly not as big a deal, i might consider it.
and also just a small clarification, this was mostly a test. i'm still working on these sounds to make them just a bit cleaner (and finish the realistic and distant sounds), but i may also start working on replacement mods for all the vanilla weapons.
I'd suggest - if you're interested - that you look into making a mod like this. because literally all the things that make noise in-game have an associated .wav file you can very easily override (that's literally all this mod does). i can 100% help you get started then just let you go nuts with it :)
And this is just the thing i've have been looking for.
I'd would absolutly love it, if you could a make a really powerfull sounding
A (Heavy boom like firing) AssaultCannon / turret > (But slightly lighter)
A (Very bolty firing sounding) AutoCannon / turret
And also a (Quick and snappy) Rocket launcher /Dlc
And with / without added shell reloading sound effects after firing each shot.
i know i got a thing or two in my list of things to do: i gotta finish "realistic" sounds and slightly rework the current sounds so they're a *tiiny* bit shorter and don't step on eachother
glad you enjoy it as much as i do :)
