Also, I'd like to suggest calling these the "Bone to Pick". That's a euphemism in English for having an issue you want to discuss with someone- or a grudge you want to settle with her/him/them.

I for one would strongly advocate this be cosmetic, however. I want to be able to fire my minigun and shotgun with these babies! We can't do that if it occupies the melee weapon slot, obviously.

Also, if this is made into a melee weapon, you'll probably need to creat an animation of it melting away when Heavy puts his fists up; otherwise, it'll look awkward and glitchy, even by Team Fortress 2's cartoonish standards. Why subject yourself to that sort of complication?

If these are cosmetic, on the other hand, they'll be perpetually active, so you wouldn't have to worry about making a transitional animation like you would for if it were a melee weapon.

Perhaps make a transition from skin to bone?

This NEEDS to be a melee weapon. Can you imagine the stats that would go with it? It could be something like this -

+ Bleed Damage on Hit
+ Hitting from behind causes opponent to become Scared (Similar to how if you hit from behind w/ The holiday punch you make the enemy laugh).
- 20% Damage
- No Random Crits
