Found a way to make all technologie you can researsh appear. Simply edit in "00_defines.txt" the line call : NUM_TECH_ALTERNATIVES = 3 to NUM_TECH_ALTERNATIVES = 99 and you will now alway see every available tech you can research.

This should be in the base game. I hate the fact that the tech are random and not an actual tech tree where you choose what to research. If only the AI would use this too... Feel pretty unfaire and unbalance because of that.

@Sempire, It is not possible to make the linear tech cost more without also overriding all the vanilla technology files. If you want to do it, I would be happy to explain how you might go about it. I am happy with the mod the way it is and do not intend to make that change.

I only left half my comment. Would it be possible to request an increased cost for the tech that is linear? as to balance it a bit since ai doesnt use it.

It would really be preferable if paradox would just adopt a linear tech tree and increase the tech price.

@Tutuca - there was, but it did not get much use. I am more than happy to help some one make one for it but do not wish to keep up with as many spin offs as there are cool mods in the community. If anyone wants help to use my design to create a mod for a tech mod they like just add me as a friend and I can teach you all you need to know.

@ MPC603 - I have tested with both mods you listed and everything works correctly for me. I recommend verifying local file integrity and possible unsubscribing from this mod and resubscribing to make sure there is nothing corrupt with your copy of the mod. Please keep in mind not every technology leads to a guaranteed research option, most technologies do not. If this does not work, add me as a friend and we can attempt to figure out what is going on.

@Shamis sorry for the lack of info. I bought it recently so have never played it below version 2.0. currently it is 2.0.1. Currently I'm running a mod called (NCS2 - Season 1 - Episode 1 - v1.0-) which basically updates ship classes, star bases and some technology. This recuires another mod called (UI Overhaul 1080p Plus) which is required for the other mod. The tech tree worked for the first few days I had it but now seems to have reverted back to the random tech options.

It will allow you to research any tech you have the prerequisites for. Removes the RNG from vanilla. Modded techs will still be random

Ok so can someone explain this to me? So you will go straight down the line to learn all of the tech? Does that mean it wont be random? Someone help me out.

You should release a guide on how to create your own compatibility patch, like how Downscaled Ships does it, I have only a small amount of modding experience, so I don’t think I would be much help (I do know how to change a version number)
