Should automatically appear in your mod list when you boot up Civ 5 but the workshop can be inconsistent with that sometimes.

So I subscribed to this mod how do you download and install it?

irelandvonvicious Sep 25, 2017 @ 10:15am
SDI was in the first Civ. It was similar to how the bomb shelters work now.
Pneumonia Sep 11, 2017 @ 7:29pm
Should've used a Ronald Reagan quote for SDI

It's actually great if you're playing a mod that adds any kind of post-information-era, such as future worlds or first contact era.
Nice!
CyberGlob Jun 23, 2017 @ 12:46am
@RetroA Thanks

@CyberGlob
No, it's like the Hanging Gardens (which provides a free Garden without needing to be next to a river).
CyberGlob Jun 22, 2017 @ 9:59am
Does the SKA need to be built next to a mountain? (Because of the observatory bonus)
Juras Jun 22, 2017 @ 1:53am
@Dragonlord

I think it's based of Reagan's pet project: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strategic_Defense_Initiative
Artimedias Jun 21, 2017 @ 7:46pm
Is the SDI based of of the Global Defense Initive from CnC?
Jorge Jun 21, 2017 @ 11:35am
Make a meme generator.
RetroA  [author] Jun 21, 2017 @ 11:23am
@BaumThreat
I'm not sure if XML will allow you to create negative culture :P
Jorge Jun 21, 2017 @ 11:19am
Add a meme generator.
RetroA  [author] Jun 21, 2017 @ 10:58am
@LollHateMyself
I initially wanted to do just that but there are already a few mods that add the Large Hadron Collider on here and I really didn't have any different ideas to what has already been published.
Cirdan the Chadwright Jun 21, 2017 @ 10:42am
can you try to include a particle accelerator?
RetroA  [author] Jun 20, 2017 @ 11:41am
@Noel
Thanks, introduce away!
RetroA  [author] Jun 20, 2017 @ 11:38am
@Bertdog211
Thanks, I'm quite happy with the splash screens, naturally I can't take credit for the icons!
RetroA  [author] Jun 20, 2017 @ 11:37am
@Ragepriest
Thanks for the suggestion, not a bad idea but since I'm largely limited to existing effects in the game, I could only really make something that increases GP generation or a free GP, which I feel wouldn't be that interesting at that point in the game (plus the existing Hubble Telescope already gives 2 free Great Sciencists).
Noel Jun 20, 2017 @ 10:09am
This seems legit, I think I will introduce your work into the next update on my Earth 1939 mod. Credit will be given. Thank you for making this, very creative additional features to the Information Era gameplay.
Bertdog211 Jun 20, 2017 @ 6:05am
Also the art fits in with everything else perfectly.
Bertdog211 Jun 20, 2017 @ 6:04am
It is better for the wonders to have stronger base effects as there won't be a ton of time for the GPP to kick in.
Ragepriest Jun 18, 2017 @ 9:55am
@RetroA: Your concerns regarding balancing the + to GPP and the wonders' other benefits makes sense. So, merely as a suggestion, why not create one more wonder that focuses more heavilg on + to GPP specifically, granting no other bonus. This would allow you to 'justify' the increased GPP benefit, as the wonder itself would grant no other benefits. i.e. something focues ONLY on GPP bonuses.
hshark93 Jun 18, 2017 @ 1:59am
Thanks @RetroA
RetroA  [author] Jun 17, 2017 @ 2:45pm
@dninemfive
Yeah, I kinda felt the same but all other wonders in the Information Era and most in the Atomic Era only give +1 GPP and the other effects are quite powerful. Maybe I'll look at tweaking with more testing.
RetroA  [author] Jun 17, 2017 @ 2:44pm
@Nocheese4u
Thanks. From what I've tested, I don't think you can add mods to existing games unfortunately. As for modding units, I got all the information I needed from the tutorials over in the CivFanatics forums: https://forums.civfanatics.com/forums/civ5-creation-customization.393/ - you could also download another one of my mods, which adds new scouting units and examine the code for yourself.
dninemfive Jun 17, 2017 @ 2:33pm
My only balance suggestion is to increase the yield of Great Person Points - +1 is pretty weak for such a lategame wonder.
RetroA  [author] Jun 17, 2017 @ 2:25pm
@hshark
Whilst I can't be 100% certain, I would imagine so as my mod only adds new buildings to certain tech, it doesn't change any existing things - so long as the tech still exists and hasn't been renamed behind the scenes (which doesn't look like Future Worlds does) then it should be fine. Naturally, combine at your own risk.
Nocheese4u Jun 17, 2017 @ 1:48pm
Interesting mod, but I want to add this to a current game. Does it work with already running games or only new ones?
Also do you know modding for making units? I want to add some additional units to the game but I have no idea how to mod or who can help.
hshark93 Jun 17, 2017 @ 12:00pm
Does this work with mods like future worlds? @RetroA
Tax Avoider Jun 16, 2017 @ 7:22pm
As much as I liked the informative era, things really did slow down. Thanks for this mod
snowball Jun 16, 2017 @ 4:24pm
Now I can roleplay as a communist Ronald Reagan. All my dreams have been fullfilled.

WHERE IS DON'S WALL!??!!?

@[GB]Klingenwetzer
Maybe the production value number is a little too high, perhaps I'll test some more on some longer games. Any recommended value?
RetroA  [author] Jun 16, 2017 @ 1:08pm
@Edge Maverick
Thanks but sorry I don't, hard enough getting my own ideas to work! More than welcome to share yours though.
Klingy Jun 16, 2017 @ 11:46am
@RetroA I think mostly the Universal Constructor, because you get a copy of each type of military land unit and a >>30<< % Bonus on building military units in this City.
Sarah G. Jun 16, 2017 @ 11:19am
I love these!
Can i make a request?
RetroA  [author] Jun 16, 2017 @ 10:01am
@[GB]Klingenwetzer
Any wonder in particular or all of them? I figured since most games are more or less finished by the Information Era, you don't get as much use out of their effects as others but yeah, maybe a little!
Klingy Jun 16, 2017 @ 6:49am
Seems a bit OP ^^
RetroA  [author] Jun 15, 2017 @ 10:47am
@A Most Sovereign Lady
Appreciated!
Miath Jun 15, 2017 @ 6:36am
I quite like these, my thanks!
