tell me, will you continue the mod Aviary Structures, because I'm very interested in him?
I really want to use this one but it seems broken?
If you did could you PRETTY PLEASE upload that as a stand alone mod? It's was only a building and would have no obvious compatibility problems. It was such a great and handy little structure to place at our bases. It really was at it's best as just an aviary.
Those rings would fit to the opening of the cupola. A cupola can be added above or even below a ring, and it is also possible to build sideways.
Mounting points:
- 1x center
- 1x left, right, front, back
Mountable on rafts, too.
And here a request: for our server, we need a very similar item: a giant, round cupola, fully glass, no metal frames. It should be 50 or even 100 fields wide and tall (in diameter). Through a (radial?) menu, we could decide if a wide round opening is
- at the back
- and/or at the front
- and/or at the left
- and/or at the right
- and/or at the bottom
- and/or at the top
The opening(s) could be 5 to 20 fields wide (radial menu).
ideally, the color of the glass could be tinted with airbrushes or through a radial menu setting.
It's a sad day when I come back past this mod and it's bloated and over-modded beyond what it's initial intention was.
Why? Why did you incorporate all this into it? It was awesome as it was. You should've made multiple mods rather than making a mod that has 'everything'.
I understand your frustration, but if your problem is the same as ours was, it's as simple as ONLY bringing out the aviary structure workbench AS NEEDED (the processing area doesn't seem to cause problems) and putting it away when you're done crafting the pieces.
*** The structure workbench being placed in the world for extended periods seems to be what was causing the issue for us - we can still use the aviary and build the parts and such, we just put it away when we're done crafting structures. This appears to have fixed the problem for us, at least.
I hope the info is helpful to someone else who badly wants to keep the mod but has been having random crashes to desktop that they couldn't sort out otherwise.
Other than the fact it breaks the server, good mod.
My sister and I were just talking about this - our games both kept quitting to windows - no errors thrown at all and nothing in game, server, or windows logs at all telling us that anything had even happened. the game just QUIT, like it had never been running in the first place.
The "processing area" is fine, far as we can tell. It's the other one that's causing problems - the workbench or whatever.
We put the workbench thing away whenever we are not actively creating aviary parts, and the games hasn't had one of those crashes since (the processing area has remained built, so it's not causing the problems).
TLDR; The processing area doesn't appear to cause the problem - it's the workbench that you craft the aviary pieces with. You can still use it to craft - just put it away in a storage box whenever you're not actively using it or it may crash the game.
