Thank you for clearing this up, Rafeku, I have updated the ship so the texture size should now 2048 x 2048.

About the texture resolution, BNG uses a 2048 texture for the ships, the game just scales it down to 512 to make it look PS1-ish. if you type "highdef"(no quotes) anywhere on the menu, it will enable the HD textures fo the game's ships. What kills the loading time are the ships polycount; I don't think the textures give much of a hit, when everything else is already lowres...
