The idea of the mod is good, but the implementation is just disgusting. Did you started playing? Great.Did you know that in order for zombie AI to work, you need to check box in the settings before the game starts? No? Start over. Did you save-loaded game before zombies appeared? What's a pity that this breaks the mod! Start over. Zombies appeared, but were beaten with sticks by aborigines? What a bad luck that you didn't read mod-description, which is why you didn't turn off the quick fight option, as a result of which zombies do not infect units and cities. Start over. Have you read the description yet? Well done.But, no one will tell you that same thing happens while you are playing in 2d mode instead of 3d...So, a lot of time was spent to figure out how to make mod work, and the desire to play with it was gone - disabled quick-battle option unrealistically stretches every turn, especially considering that the number of zombies is multiplying.Mod is 2.5/10, personal experience 0/10

Mod Works Great, Alot of you have issues with it, but I had one of my city's erupt on chieftain difficulty, I was over run had to retreat to another civ across the ocean and take theres. my city's pop didn't help because they were all 30s then when the ai got 10 extra unit they killed everything on the continent. I took over my half of the world and started using artillery and battleships and planes to retake the land that was infested.

I had a lot of fun with this mod for 2 years. Sadly for the past 3 it hasn't worked as well for some reason. Zombies used to be a terrifyingly fast and threatening force. Single zombie units knew to hit a city to create more and would bee-line for one, they don't anymore. Zombies now attempt to surround a city as if they're laying siege and it leads to their quick deaths in literally any era they spawn. Not a shit mod, pay no attention to the haters, just needs a revamp.

Wasted so much time on this. It takes forever to spawn in, and when you do it's nearly impossible to get any momentum going. Quite possibly the worst mod I've ever played. It was at least bad enough that I'm pretty sure this is the only time I've put in the effort to even draft a comment. Bad mod. Bad job.

they doesn't attack City-States....they instantly make peace and war and then they don't attack...pls fix that...u just see City-State in middle of zombie hordes which is terrible....

Idk whats been going on, but zombies just aren't as aggressive as they used to be. They normally wait until they have a city completely surrounded instead of b-lining for the hit. This causes them to be killed off really easily by AI.

Nice idea but the zombie ai lets it fight like normal units so they won't spread much depending on difficulty. If a player controls them they function how it was intended i guess. However if you play as zombie it is possible to die before spawning because of the placeholder sub dying on wrong terrain. Also spawning in a 1 population city will give you only 1 warrior which will die immediately if you are unlucky and the whole virus which turns them into zombies doesn't spread if the zombies are attacked. It only spreads when zombies attack. The last thing is that if the zombies should win they don't because of naval units which you can't destroy as zombie player.

Very intresting idea, but i got a suggestion. Suddenly having every unoccupied tile in your land flooded with zombies out of nowhere in one turn due to distant cities being infected with no where else for the zombies to spawn doesnt seem very fair. Would it be possible to cluster them thougheter when they spawn?

I tried playing on a custom map and the submarine that was supposed to keep zombies alive spaned in mountains and died :( I guess i gonna have to play on standart maps then :(

I've waited trough around 300 turns as zombies waiting for something to happen and nothing. Might be an idea to add a feature to choose when to start zombeing

Hey, there is a weird bug wherein even after a civ has been fully wiped off the earth by zombies (units and all), they still exist and have a vote in the world council. My vote to enact the world religion as Boat Mormonism was dicked by a single vote from a dead egypt.

As soon as i start the game playing as the zombies, it's an instant defeat on the first turn.

One thing i've noticed about this MOD is that the zombies will not attack a city state. They will attack the city states units and pillage around it. But they will not attack the city like the other civilizations. This became an issue when they came to a line of city states. They wouldn't pass the city state and eventually just stayed there, spawning off the units until I was able to wipe them out.

All I've had is trouble with this one, but I'm more then willing to try it again. Its an awesome idea, and its obviously capable of working just it has some big bugs.

Excellent Mod.

Civ needs some random events like this.
I started in Medieval era and by the time the zombies appeared I handled them easily with artillery. (Not before they destroyed nearly all cities on the other side of the world.)
If they started closer to me I might have had more trouble with them.

waited on an entire quick game to pass before i spawned in as the zombies i got to turn 260 before i gave up waiting, Mod is simply not worth the download as it probably wont work until the last 10% of the game and by then its not worth even playing

Waits for them... Waits some more..... Hits information era."Huh guess the mod dosnt work?" Goes for science victory. Has ship almost built. NOPE said the zombies. city completly gone. ship and all. all like 8 wonders too. loses to diplomatic victory 7 turns later. really. just really. I know the spawn time is random but that far into the game was aggravating. Simply losing when i lost the ONE city i needed to stay good. Also anything pretty much one hits them. why not force them to spawn if they dont, when someone hits like industrial or modern?

I killed the zombies as soon as they spawned at one of my cities. Will they respawn at another city or have I stopped the zombie plague an have to restart?

I've seen a few comments stating that I have stolen this mod.
The only part of the code that isn't mine is the Plot iterator tool developed by whoward69. The other day the dev left a comment here, but it seems he deleted it...
He was talking about how he released it now so it's out there and how he's been too busy to update it and how he's going to update it soon.
I can only take it that was a lie because he deleted his comment.

I don't doubt Fliwar (below post) that this is a stolen mod though, the lua is credited to some other guy.

I was considering doing just that, since I'm sure this dev wouldn't give a damn if someone stole this mod.
However, the way he wrote the code is just, awful, really bad... I'd need to be written from stratch to be fixed.
However I'm sure his assets would be fine if reused.

Besides, I really shouldn't expect better from a scruby TF2 trader making Civ 5 mods.

You know, I'm not even sure the guy who uploaded this is even the original creator, the mod says it was made by someone called "Adam Collins" and alot of the files were compiled late last year.
I think this might be a stolen mod.

Oh course, I'm more than willing to have the uploader prove me wrong, if he even cares to listen to any of us.:Xseriously:

this mod only works with only this mod and two civs and duel map until you reach about 5-10 zombies, WHAT?!?!?! also its now Crashilization:steamsalty::steamsalty::steamsalty:

I love the idea of this mod but I've played through it a few times now and still have yet to see a zombie breakout. I'm doing like its says, no quick combat with complete kills on. I select an AI as the zombies. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
