Damn... I got so stuck on this and almost gave up. I saw what needed to be done but could not for the life of me figure out how to do it, it seemed impossible and completely illogical. I stuck with it then finally figured it out, only to get stuck again, and again... progress was slow, but I finally completed it, such an incredible and clever map! Thank you so much for creating this masterpiece :)

Had to watch ngeruma youtube channel of this map to get ideas. Always saw where he got stuck but gave me ideas to solve puzzle. This map was very hard but simple sort of after the facts.

oh boy...I see why people love this map! elegant.
DemonMathTeacher Nov 21, 2024 @ 10:24am
Nice map. Like that the elements and "how to win" are clear to see. No controller gymnastics required...just logical thinking!

Can't fully explain it, but this is a very pleasant feeling camber. Just feels relaxing to play. Enjoyed it, The ending portal swap is the best bit. Very good!

Very clever puzzle. Satisfied solving it.

nice and easy

Good map. Nice final set of moves.
For me it was not clear that faith plates are connected to light bridges. Found it out after 5-10 minutes with a blind guess. I guess signs removed for prettiness.
DeathWish808 Jan 26, 2022 @ 3:39pm
Excellent map! Love the reuse of the elements! Very clever!

Very nice map. Really good logic in the map, thanks for creating!

Great puzzle! Really nice use of the portal surfaces :p2cube:
Mikeastro Aug 23, 2021 @ 1:02pm
Replayed this one after 3.5 years. I remembered nothing about the solution. Back then, it took me 40mins to solve. This time, I could do it in a third of the time. Glad to see proof that those additional 1k hours of Portal 2 were not all for naught :P Still a very smooth puzzle. Great work :D
dbianchi Jul 5, 2021 @ 5:09pm
Why did it take me 2 hours to realize I could just step outside that cubicle through the emancipation grid?

@Gabriel Bacon, @daloboy, cool to read that you came back and found satisfaction !

@totes maggots, thanks for playing, eager to test your collaborative project when it will be released ;)
totes amaze balls May 24, 2021 @ 4:18pm
Extremely excellent puzzle, nothing but good things to say about it. Faved :)
Gabriel Bacon Apr 18, 2021 @ 11:21pm
Finally came back to this one & did it legitimately! It took me a long time but I can't believe how well it all came together. I agree with the other comments, this puzzle is a work of art & you should be proud. Favorite!
daloboy Feb 24, 2021 @ 12:44pm
At last! I was trying to finish your excellent map for many attempts over some years...
Once on the other side deck, I could not see the next step. Thanks for creating.
Almisuifre  [author] Jan 4, 2021 @ 12:33pm
Pleased to read such rewarding comments :)

@Gabriel Bacon, thanks for playing and posting this, I'll see how I can prevent this move.
It's obviously not intended, since your solution involves portal bump. I don't make maps using intended exploits. Unfortunately it misdirected you and provided a less stimulating experience I guess. Intended path is way more interesting, feel free to give it a 2nd try ;)

After years I didn't know portal bump was possible from a black surface...Vaalve !
Gabriel Bacon Jan 3, 2021 @ 8:44pm
I'm 99% sure I cheated, and it still took me forever. I'll have to come back to this one.

Here is my blind playthrough showing the exploit
Aneonen Aug 27, 2020 @ 3:01pm
Amazing puzzle! I agree with almost everything else the other recent comments have said. The reasoning was really smooth and understandable, and I really liked the small subversion of expectations I experienced when I reached the far platform and kept wondering how I could get the cube in a nice position to bring it over without leaving the platform/clearing portals, when in fact this was exactly what I needed to do.
SpKi Jun 3, 2020 @ 11:15am
Truly an incredible map. The logic flows super well, the solution path is very elegant and has a bunch of interesting ideas. Nothing to criticise here, it's just perfect. Probably one of the best maps I have played so far. Without a doubt a favorite. Thanks!
metadavid May 12, 2020 @ 10:47pm
Hi Almisuifre. Like bullfrog, I must have played thousands of maps. Some are too hard for me, some of those by players leaving comments on your maps! I agree that this one is really up there in terms of clever logic, just mind-boggling how you put this together. Thanks, that took me a while but really satisfying to complete.
Almisuifre  [author] Apr 29, 2020 @ 3:17am
Nice to hear such satisfaction here :cleancake:
@bullfrog, thanks for giving a 2nd go to my workshop ! Cool to know this map didn't grow old ;)
bullfrog Mar 30, 2020 @ 1:54am
This is still a brilliant logic puzzle. Three years ago I said that I had “played several hundred community test chambers and this has got to be in the top 10, or higher.” I’ve now played thousands of community test chambers, mainly from respected puzzle makers, and this is still high up in my list of favourites. I’m currently going through that list, from first to latest, so you will no doubt be seeing quite a few comments from me over the next however long it takes, but I’ll try and keep my comments shorter from now on.

absolutely fabulous map. This is the best map I have played in over 3000 hours of play!
I am amazed by so much intelligence in the creation of this map. If all the maps were as good, I would not need another game than portal 2 !!!
Almisuifre  [author] Aug 8, 2019 @ 8:11am
Thanks for playing, cool to hear that you all liked it, it's among my personal favorites.
Modoc73 Jul 19, 2019 @ 8:57pm
Cool map, flowed nicely, thanks. I go stuck for a while thinking The faith plates weren't working because of flashing light. But then realised they do work, once lightbridge is gone.
Teo Jun 19, 2019 @ 4:44pm
Brilliant puzzle; based on his comment, I was stuck on the same part as Leomievs for a while. Super efficient design, especially in reuse of surfaces and areas
mangomaster Apr 5, 2019 @ 9:54pm
Wow. I didn't see the huge appeal of this map until about halfway through, but those last few moves were brilliant. Took me about 45 minutes, but this is so far my favorite map, everything flowed so well. Faved.

Another brilliant puzzle. Towards the end I was so focussed on not losing my portals that I overcomplicated it and didn't see an easy move You got my brain twisted! And I loved that!
Nobody No-One May 26, 2018 @ 8:40pm
Excellent puzzle! Great use and reuse of elements and space, and I had some nice "aha" moments. Everything was very smooth and intuitive with no weird moves but it still took quite a bit of thought. Thumbs up and favorite!
Lorefunder Mar 18, 2018 @ 6:16pm
Absolutley stunning, creative, and unique. 10/10, and my favorite chamber as of now. This puzzle was very clever and challened me into thinking creatively. I loved the usage of the light bridges and faith plates. It took me a shorter time than I have seen others complete it in, maybe about 20 minutes, and I expected it to be a bit harder because of some video lengths I've seen. Going in blind though, I was pleasantly surprised and very amused. Well done and keep it up. :steamhappy:
Almisuifre  [author] Mar 15, 2018 @ 4:04am
Thanks for commenting, testers/mappers ! Glad this map feels challenging and fluid for everyone.

@r3kniht, this is the fruit of a process in which I took my time. As far as I remember, I intricated different ideas into a coherent sequence, rebuilt layout several times, complexified it deeply, simplified it significantly :) Constant playtesting/tweaking, constant "less surfaces, more reuse", avoiding obscure & too obvious, implementing extra ideas popping up if they fit, sweep-up to make it comfortable...mapping stuffs :)
Almisuifre  [author] Mar 15, 2018 @ 3:33am
Hey Paper, thanks for the run ! Nice run btw, cool to hear your thoughts during the process, even for a french speaker :) As you saw, the relay is set instead of a catcher to be hit from the exit-catcher's area. And, I never use red herrings in my maps : guessing steps order is enough ;)

Played this map half on a whim and half because others were praising it a lot in Demon Arisen's discord. Was definitely worth the play. Loved the laser and funnel logic, and everything flowed smoothly. Awesome job!
Mikeastro Jan 8, 2018 @ 3:24pm
Took me about 40 mins to crack this one; very nice and creative :)
anpy Jan 5, 2018 @ 2:36pm
Absolutely brilliant puzzle. Every step was clever and had me thinking. I don't really have anything else to say other than this puzzle was perfect. Very good job. Thumbs up and favorite :)
r3kniht Nov 15, 2017 @ 2:03pm
Awesome! Took me almost two hours to finish this map, but it never felt boring or frustrating. I'm curious, how long did it take you to build it?

The map is great,I solved it just now,i hope you can create more and better maps!

A lot of head scratching, but finally success. Thumbs up!
