Makes Domination and Religion op, everything else is weak as hell. Back to standard.

This breaks a lot of the games functions rendering it unplayable. Needs to be updated but it seems to have been abandoned 6 years ago.
basic_ging Jan 4 @ 6:58pm
Cannot let CPU play as Hammurabi with this mod.
Mr. Underhill Jan 2 @ 2:49pm
You literally have to disable and re-enable this mod EVERY time you start the game for this mod to work if you create a game in advanced mode. Absolute joke.
shek Aug 31, 2024 @ 12:23pm
Is there a mod like this that replaces all speeds? Would love a marathon paced "historic speed" mod.
Blazing Dragon Aug 24, 2024 @ 3:15pm
Babylon outpaces everyone so some adjusting needs to be done there.
Ipsissimus Jul 13, 2024 @ 3:27pm
Great concept, it's fun but I don't think is worth replacing Standard mode, even if at times Historical Speed can be more fun than Standard. There's really no reason to add this speed type by only replacing one of the predetermined speeds, it would make more sense to just add the Historical Speed without forcing users to replace any mode giving players ultimately more choices.

i second replacing marathon rather than standard!!!
Holy Cow! Mar 21, 2024 @ 3:55pm
Plaese for the love of god make this replace marathon speed instead of standard
xmahfuz Jan 21, 2024 @ 9:42am
Is it compatible with Reat Era Stop or Real Tech Tree?
Zagreb Jan 16, 2024 @ 9:08am
The rythm of the mod is great, but I really dont think that adding +1 gold cost to all units is a good idea. If you dont have some gold resource close to your start your'e kinda screwed, especialy in Deity. The special project unlocked with animal husbandry isn't enough to sustain the early AI agression.
Megas Apollumi Nov 9, 2023 @ 6:27pm
@3D Master. Just get "non-stop projects" mod and it automatically cycles which ever one you have chosen.
Lyzore Sep 26, 2023 @ 12:49pm
Is this mod broken? What is the turn limit supposed to be?
3D Master Sep 7, 2023 @ 8:09am
This is a great mod; there is one drawback though; late game when you have a lot of cities, and few things left to build, you have to go to the project all the way at the bottom, 'Bread and circuses,' 'Campus Research Grants' and the like. These have the normal building speed, aka 1-3 turns.

The result is that you sit there, going through 50-75% of your cities, every turn, scrolling down to one of these projects, and turning them on again. This makes a turn last 5 to 10 minutes easily. It also makes it more likely you forget that you were doing something else at a city, because it becomes such automated thing you're doing.

It would be so much nicer if these projects retained their marathon lengths.

I love the idea of this mod but I think it conflicts with Babylon's special ability. I'm playing Babylon and as of 340 BC I already have Mass Production. I saw another comment saying Babylon had a big science advantage with this mod.
Kor Leonis Jun 12, 2023 @ 9:40pm
Yeah, this does not work for me. Love Extended Eras (but hate the multiplayer desyncs it causes), but this is insane. It's barely the start of the classical era and 3 AI civs have an army strength over 1000. There are warriors and archers on every tile of their territory. Just a gruelling grind of never ending tides of enemy units. Love a lot of your mods p0kiehl, but not this.
Aud计oR May 18, 2023 @ 4:55am
Games with this mode become very boring and unbalanced
FunnelVortex Apr 29, 2023 @ 12:09am
Eh, tried it but wasn't really a fan. I was able to plop down 8 cities and get 8 campuses with libraries going and was already producing a lot of science while still in the ancient era which honestly felt kinda broken. Production should be raised slightly to "Epic" standards or something similar.
Poirot's Mustache Mar 28, 2023 @ 4:00pm
Came back after looking through my mods, turns out there was another conflicting mod screwing things up, this mod is fine. Thank you, Pokhiel!

Did something change with this last update? This has been one of my all time favorite mods, and I've been playing it since 2019-2020, but I went to play a game today and the techs are soooooooo much longer than they used to be. I don't remember it taking 150 turns to research pottery, or 300 just to get to astrology. You're out of the ancient era having only researched one tech, and you can't get any campuses to speed it up.

I know this sounds like a Berenstein vs Berenstain Bears Mandela effect, but I swear the tech costs were tied to epic speed, not marathon. This mod was a lot more fun and perfect when I last played a month ago. It's the only "pace changer" mod I've ever used. Did the devs increase the tech costs with the new update?

750 science for pottery? What the heck? Something threw this mod out of balance recently. Is there a setting I screwed up?

MANY THANKS... great mod - I never liked it when it was "too fast" - I play almost always on marathon and now together with this mod - well I already have over 1200 turns, I'm in the year 2000 and still can not even fly - but I think it's good to finally have more time to really enjoy everything - since I always play for domination, it will take a while *g* ... on of my favorites now
GodlikeDennis Jan 20, 2023 @ 9:32pm
Agreed, the era score changes are dumb. If you must increase it (don't think it's necessary) you need to be more sparing, not nearly double it. There aren't enough methods of obtaining them since a lot of the time you get them from first time things only. Ruins an otherwise alright mod.
lardon03x Nov 27, 2022 @ 5:44am
at first glance, it looked rly good, but while I moved to classical era I had 59-69 turns and needed 72 era points for normal age and 99 for golden age. This mod extends eras but also stupidly increase era points that are impossible to to get. in later eras I have to obtain 5 era points every turn...this is nonsense
FatalTragedy Nov 20, 2022 @ 2:58pm
When I start a game it gives a turn limit of 783, and the years are advancing 40 per turn, as in standard speed. I'm a little confused, as I would have expected the turn limit to be at least 1500, and the years per turn at the start to be at most 15, given that this is supposed to be slower than Marathon. What is going on here?
sircharleythecat Oct 20, 2022 @ 6:58am
This mod somehow broke. It does no longer show up as an option, and the game crashes when changing turn. It used to work great before though.
Kenpari Sep 9, 2022 @ 9:08pm
Couple suggestions if you ever come back and get a hankering to change some things:

1. Babylon is stupid broken. They're currently in the Atomic Era while I (second place in science) am still in the Renaissance. I assume their unique ability hasn't been adjusted at all, which is the cause of this.
2. Diplomatic victory point threshold should be increased. I think that diplomatic victories are the most likely victory to be achieved with this mod, as Emergencies such as Aid Request easily award the player with 2 Diplo VPs. I currently have 18/20 at the beginning of the Industrial era.
D21Chaos Sep 2, 2022 @ 8:05pm
mod causes game to crash frequently in multiplayer (every 20-50 turns)
King Aug 31, 2022 @ 11:41am
Did you adjust the zombie strength? When I play on historic they get so, strong so fast, that they can't be beaten past classic era.
Cereos Aug 26, 2022 @ 10:23am
@sly1foxy It works fine for me. It may be a mod compatibility error on your setup?
sly1foxy Aug 23, 2022 @ 8:31am
Since May this mod doesn't seem to work anymore. 'Historic' speed doesn't show as an option anymore when you start a game.
Enyogami Aug 9, 2022 @ 9:11am
The same mod but where technologies take epic time and not longer than marathon (so a compromise) would be appreciated. Does that already exist somewhere?
Denthamos Jul 26, 2022 @ 3:26pm
Been using this mod since it came out, it seems something broke in it recently in the past few months and is completely inoperable now. Even if it shows up as a selection on game speed - it does not actually apply.
lamuchan13 Jul 9, 2022 @ 8:28am
It doesn't show up when I'm creating a new game
Den06 Jun 16, 2022 @ 2:16pm
Is it supposed to be 780 something turns? I thought there would be 1500 turns?
NRFBToyStore Jun 11, 2022 @ 7:04pm
@King @Crimson Knight Second paragraph...the thing marked [NOTE]... Give that a lil read.
King Jun 6, 2022 @ 5:31am
Aye, same as below. Subscribed, but historic does not show as an option in game speed.
Crimson Knight May 22, 2022 @ 7:47am
cant find historic game speed...
Jay May 3, 2022 @ 3:29pm
How does this affect the Babylon civ? Will they still complete the research when triggering Eurekas?
LemonTea Apr 17, 2022 @ 7:12am
Mod appears to work fine for me in April 2022.
Xandras89 Apr 4, 2022 @ 2:52am
Someone else got very long end turn time in mid/late game with this mod?
Sharky Apr 2, 2022 @ 11:23pm
Just a warning to anyone downloading this in 2022, its broken, while your civilization will have slower research the AI won't. meaning you'll be in the Medieval era while AI is in the Atomic era.
Adoll't Mar 7, 2022 @ 3:39am
@jambajess :monsterbold: yeah it's called the master victory of playing historic diety with multiple wars
Davide_Italy_83 Feb 19, 2022 @ 7:01am
Hi pOkiehl, this mod is just what I was looking for ... but is it correct that the turns are 783? and not 1500? thanks for reply
jambajess Feb 9, 2022 @ 11:40am
This mod does what it's intended to just fine, but the end result makes the game boring. You get everything done quick and then the game becomes stagnant before you get to Renaissance. Anyone have similar mods but don't make games end up as stagnant?
lNce_real Feb 8, 2022 @ 8:58pm
I have issues when used with mods that change the tech tree. I played with golden age brave new world with the milestones on and the tech tree got shuffled.
Johnny Blade Jan 24, 2022 @ 4:35pm
Having the same poblem as Ozi mentioned, reaserch doesnt seem to be affected
Makhates Jan 15, 2022 @ 10:31am
Dear @p0kiehl, this mod is exactly what I was looking for, thank you!

Unfortunately, it looks like it's not working on my PC. I have a non-English version (Italian) so I just set the game on "Standard" speed, but it appears to be... just like the standard "standard" speed.

Any suggestions about how to make it work?

Thanks in advance,
Francesco
ReczKo Jan 12, 2022 @ 1:18am
@mr.kodie with so slow technology, AI is just massing units after it has built all the buildings, until new tech unocks something new to build. To stop that - try Unit limiting mod. Works nicely and doesnt make AI fill out the world with units.
LordShotGun Dec 23, 2021 @ 10:29am
seems like culture isnt effected, but the mods been abandoned since 2019 and it's almost 2022 so not a surprise.
