this doesnt seem to work

We look forward to it. Implementing your Reichskommissariats into the current version of BICE shouldn’t prove too difficult. It merely requires mimicking the code structure associated with BICE’s preexisiting Reichskommissariats found in the mod files and adapting that format to your files. I managed to make a similar custom country mod compatible with BICE via this method and I’m little more than an amateur at modding.

great news

@PzSniper
Hopefully I'll update the mod this week. I finally got to the game but I have to familiarize myself with BICE all over again as, I suppose, there were a lot of changes since the last update.

@67Phill
I never have, actually. They, apparentely did some changes to BICE to accomodate this mod (most notably adding a state in Siberia for the split along the 70th meredian).
I know that they're now integrating Reichskommissariats, and what they've already done is interesting and, in my opinion, much more fitting with the BICE mechanics, I like it better. And that's the reason why I still didn't update the mod for the new version of BICE — their implementation is somewhat different, I have to basically rewrite everything to fit into these new mechanics, and it's rather daunting. I'm sorry.
Even if they do the entirety of Reichskommissariats, including the fictional ones, this mod will not be redundant, as there as still mechanics for Japan. Moreover, I still have some ideas for the mod.
S67Phill Jan 27, 2019 @ 4:36am
Hey, I really like this Mod, and i realise as per your last post that it is difficult to keep up with the continual updates to BICE.
Have you thought about communicating with the BICE team about this to either intergrate this with BICE, or get heads up on updates and collaborate? Because as @The Kaiser says Bice are intergrating Reichskommissariats in there now :| dont want a duplication of effort if the result may be similar...:|
Cheers.
The Kaiser Jan 26, 2019 @ 8:06pm
I’m happy to hear your continued intentions with your work. Smaller modders like yourself are held high in my regards, especially considering your consistency for compatibility patches. I look forward to seeing what is to come with your mod, my friend!
Ostermann  [author] Jan 10, 2019 @ 9:57pm
I don't plan to abandon the mod. Moreover, I want to expand its capabilities, like adding the possibility of recruiting respective SS divisions.
It's just I didn't expect the BICE team to make so much updates prior the releas of MtG. Will fix the mod very soon.
The Kaiser Jan 10, 2019 @ 7:09pm
I see that the latest update of Black Ice has now included a handful of Reichskommissariats itself. Regardless, I hope this doesn’t deter you from patching this mod for compatibility with the latest changes. I find your mod indispensable when conquering the vast territories of the Soviet Union. To note, the only overlapping change added in the patch is the inclusion of Reichskommissarit Moskowien. The options provided by this mod to form the Kommissariats of Don-Wolga, Kaukasus, & Turkistan are particularly important to my campaigns. Not only do the options to form these provide crucial alleviation to my overextended forces when struggling to establish order in such a vast expanse ripe with constant harassment by partisans, but also this mod provides a historically plausible flavor, especially considering all such Reichskommissariats were actual planned administrative regions which the German government had drawn up. I love this mod & hope to see it kept alive!
S67Phill Dec 9, 2018 @ 7:32am
Hey, love this Mod.
BICE has just updated to 3.0.13. I realise that this was literally like an hour ago, but it doesnt now work with this mod enabled. Just a heads up for you. I was playing as the USSR and it seemed to cause a crash on the 4th of January 1936.
Cheers,
S.

wow amazingly fast update!:steamhappy:
Ostermann  [author] Oct 25, 2018 @ 11:21pm
It would be great! It was planned, eventually. Some of the leaders are made up though, as I was lazy to try to figure out who of the German command could be assigned as Kustenland reichskommissar.
Thanks for the help and continuous support for the mod! I'd gladly accept the portraits, with a proper credit, naturally.
Any major update will only occur when MtG is released.
The Kaiser Oct 25, 2018 @ 11:01pm
You should include the actual portraits of the Reich’s leaders whom were chosen to lead the conceptualized Reichskommissariats, opposed to using the generic ones. I have made 3 high quality portraits of a few of those leaders, all which I cleaned up and colorized myself. Let me know if you’d be interested in including them in the next update. I’d do it myself but coding them into your custom nations is beyond my capabilities unfortunately.
Ostermann  [author] Sep 17, 2018 @ 10:12pm
Should be compatible with 3.0.7
The Kaiser Sep 14, 2018 @ 4:13pm
Hey just wanted to thank you for the speedy update. I simply cannot play BICE without your mod.
BunnyPoopCereal Sep 14, 2018 @ 1:18pm
Thanks for the update
The Kaiser Sep 13, 2018 @ 4:46am
Yeah that is a good point. I honestly thought your mod would be the last thing responsible for my crashes since it had run so well in the past,, but I digress.the new building types and slightly altered focus tree for Stalin. So for vwithout question this proved a fatal concoction with a system that requires the uttermost precise lines of coding in order for it to become properly compatible.
Ostermann  [author] Sep 13, 2018 @ 2:22am
It's obviously incomptaible as there were a lot of changes in the core mod. A update is in the works with some new features.
Thanks for the vigorous testing on the part of compatibilty, but that was most likely unnecessary.
The Kaiser Sep 13, 2018 @ 2:01am
Just a heads up, your mod is incompatible with the newest update for BICE. Causes the game to crash on March 24th, 1937. It took a lot of trial and error (and frustration) to determine this. Hope to see an update for this soon!
Ostermann  [author] Aug 26, 2018 @ 9:12pm
Also, Yangtze and Yenisei are two different rivers. May be that's the issue and you just misunderstood?
The split event redistributes some land from Moskowien to Western Siberia and allows creation of Central Siberia, that's all for now, no other events.
But the fact that AI Japan doesn't create anything is worrying. Perhaps it's because they don't occupy the northernmost provinces. If it's so, I'll try to accomodate that.
Ostermann  [author] Aug 26, 2018 @ 8:44pm
That's a new issue.
The truth is, I never really playtested the mod. I simulated some situations with the consle, but never had a genuine campaign with AI. AI choice factors are pretty much placeholders, decisions and scripts logic might be flawed and so on.
Your feedback is crucial, that's for sure.
The Kaiser Aug 26, 2018 @ 8:20pm
Really? I thought your mod ran quite smoothly to be honest, with the exception of organizing a functioning agreement of division with Empire of Japan. I got an event to set the division lines at the Yangtze River as was planned in our timeline, yet when Stalin surrendered nothing was heard of the deal again. I actually had to tag over to Japan just to establish the Siberian Imperial Subjects. Otherwise the mod is great. But as I believe you have in the works expanding upon the current Kommissariats/Subjects by adding in new events and challenges towards maintaining rule over those lands, then I absolutely look forward to that especially.
Ostermann  [author] Aug 26, 2018 @ 7:58pm
Surely adding other fornable territories the plan. But there are still issues with the core featires.
The Kaiser Aug 26, 2018 @ 2:18pm
Perhaps add central and Western European Kommissariats as well? Perhaps some for Africa as well? Similar to ‘Bitter Peace: NWO’ where the player has the decisions to establish the Reichsprotektorat of Bohemia and Moravia, Generalgouvernement, Reichsland Dänemark, Reichsprotektorat Bretagne, Reichskolony Madegaskar (which you can receive from Vichy after the Fall of France), Reichskolony Mittelafrika+Reichsstaat Südafrika (I constantly find myself desperate for such an option after being forced to bail Mussolini out and wind up with tons of land and a costly occupational cost for little reward). All such additions would make this mod just ideal.

I look forward to it. Brilliant mod, my friend. Having the option to form these Reichskommissariats in the midst of the War, as opposed to after as is the case with Ostland & Ukraine in vanilla has proven to be an invaluable element in maintaining a sturdy German grasp on the region. Prior to using this mod, I was confronted with gargantuan occupation costs and constant insurgencies that even my 42 SS-Polezei divisions couldn’t manage to get a hold on. And even after the Soviet surrender in the normal version without this mod, being only provided the option of puppeting the Soviet Union in its entirety (with maybe the exception of the aforementioned Ukraine and Ostland) proved wholly unsustainable and from a geopolitical point of view appeared ridiculous. I love how it can be divided into various, organized, and efficient series of administrative regions between the Reich and the Empire of Japan. It is far more believable & realistic this way.
Ostermann  [author] Jul 24, 2018 @ 4:27am
Even more so. Thanks again, will update as soon as I can.
The Kaiser Jul 24, 2018 @ 4:19am
Oh no I’m not talking about decisions, I’m talking about the press and security laws added in BICE located in the government tab.
Ostermann  [author] Jul 24, 2018 @ 3:28am
As desicions are a rather new addition, I haven't actually look at them very close. I thought that the decisions you've mentioned are general and will appear without any interferrence. Apparentely, I was wrong. Will look int this too.
The Kaiser Jul 24, 2018 @ 3:09am
I entirely understand. Most puppet mods forget to take this into account. I only discovered this problem after vast quantities of truly vital resources vanished upon establishing them which I then decided to tag over to a few of them and noticed essentially a non-existent industry tech tree, most problematic being that of the resource extraction techs which was the cause for this issue. It’d be very much appreciated for this to be tweaked a bit. The military techs I don’t much care too much about, just the industry portion. Also a bit more of a minor observation, I noticed many of Reichskommissariats start without the “Police State” & “Censored Press” or “State Press” government options, which I found surprising as one would expect such occupational authorities to essentially require both to properly maintain order in such chaotic circumstances.
Ostermann  [author] Jul 24, 2018 @ 2:43am
Thanks for the much needed feedback, much appreciated!
Ostermann  [author] Jul 24, 2018 @ 2:41am
The thing is I never did anything with technologies for Reichskommissariats or Japanese administrations. They're set to be the same as German or Japanese on the starting point. THerefore as they don't exist pretty much the entire game they don't do any research. I was wondering if there is a special command to transfer tech, however it seems there is none.
I'll try to write an on_action script so that newely released Reichskommisariats copy their parent's tech upon release. No ETA though, sorry.
The Kaiser Jul 24, 2018 @ 2:34am
I find it quite odd that all of these Reichskommissariats lack any technologies. This is especially apparent in the Reichskommissariat Kaukasus where upon its establishment the regime was only capable of extracting 1/5 the amount of oil from Baku compared to being under direct administration of the Reichstag. I know as a fact that in any historical setting the German government would most certainly provide their industrial technologies to their Reichskommissariats to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency. Especially taking into account the vast swaths of resource-rich lands in the East. I find it odd that these regimes are formed without technologies from even 1936. I’d understand if this was the case only for military techs, as most Reichskommissariats were supplied equipment directly from the Reich, but there is little doubt that the German government would ensure these regimes possess the necessary industrial knowhow in order to exploit their resources to maximum potential.
The Kaiser Jul 22, 2018 @ 2:10pm
I figured as much. It’s not even the random 20 vp’s in the middle of nowhere that’s the problem it’s this weird instance where Stalin has infinite war support and stability, forcing the player to travel all throughout Soviet Russia accumulating the maximum possible victory points as a result of that war support and stability. It’s really odd. I get why the Soviets are buffed military-wise but the 100% ws regardless of lost territory or casualties is kind of dumb.
