So Paradox has made a lot of this mod core! The new "Custom Game Rules" lets you disable guaranteeing independence from within the game.

The only thing this mod would be good for going forward is disabling specific stuff in focus trees like I do with the USA and Italy. I'm going to look into how much the USA tree has changed, but the 5000 political power cost part of this mod isn't needed anymore.

It's going to take me a bit to get a full update this time around. New USA focus tree messes with a significant part of the mod (Free South America), and I don't yet own the DLC. I'm not 100% sure when I'll be buying it just yet, and I need to mess around in game to figure out that part.

I may wind up stripping out the USA/Italy changes and just keeping the 5000 political power cost part. That part is simple, but obviously some of the functionality will be lost.

This mod is incompatible with Millennium Dawn.
Minuses:
- It breaks the branches focuses of the USA.
Pluses:
+ Completely removes NATO.

To clarify: It sounds like this now conflicts with RT56, as RT56 has added a unique USA focus tree that conflicts with the one added in this mod. When I originally made the mod RT56 had the vanilla USA focus tree, but that's no longer the case. I'm considering making a version that will work with that, as it's a fairly simple change but it will make the mod a bit tougher to update.

This mod conflicts with any mod that modifies the national focus tree for the USA and Italy.

Any incompatibility with a mod that changes the focus trees of those two nations (total conversions being among them) is going to remain incompatible for the forseeable future.

Can you set it to break after Monroe Doctrine? I keep having so much Democratic influence across all the areas, that I can't conquer what is clearly Brazilian territory.

You should let guarantees happen by focus tree only

Yes! As the game expands with DLC, I've decided not to manually remove those starting guarantees. It will cause a ton of incompatibilities and greatly expand the scope of the mod with every new DLC that comes out.

I know it's not the best solution, but this mod was made with vanilla in mind. As paradox adds more country specific DLC there will probably be more starting guarantees -- at this time, I don't plan on removin those. It will make the mod increasingly incompatible with other mods, and make it more difficult for me to maintain too. I may change this some day, but have no concrete plans to right now.

There are still starting guarantees in the Balkans (Romania, Czechoslovakia, Greece, Turkey)

Raising the political power cost (which prevents new guarantees that aren't given specifically by a focus tree) will work in the 1939 start, and removing Pax Americana from the USA should too. I haven't edited anything specific to the 1939 starts, so if they have different starting guarantees those will stick.

This does not remove gurantees from death or dishonor and future dlcs

this removes guarantees but yet countries like romania still do guarantee things

That's a fundamental incompatibiltiy, I apologize! Please see the mod description. This mod will not be compatible with other mods that modify the history files for Italy or the USA.

Making it compatible with Italy mods would be a relatively minor tweak (the starting guarantee on Albania probably isn't the main reason most people use this mod), but I'm not touching the removal of the Monroe Doctrine as it's vital for this mods usefulness for South American countries.

While I was playing this mod with some Alternative History mods America and Italy ideology national focus and technology focus is going crazy.You should fix.

Good catch! I looked into it and the same thing was happening to the USA (the other history file this mod edits), and probably messing with some starting plane/factory stuff as well for both countries.. I've updated -- let me know if you're still having issues.
