This is just a localization file. The mission names should, but the nicknames won't, unless you're using LWOTC, which, as far as I know, should be reusing the original class IDs.

It ought to, as long as it still uses the same soldier classes as LW2 did back in 2017. I don't think anything with regards to these localization files has changed since then. On the other hand, WOTC faction soldiers will still use their default nickname pools.

Do you mind if I port this at some point for Richards Classes Redux and/or Proficiency Class Pack? Just a simple re-release but with the soldier class arrays changed.

I don't have WOTC or my dev environment at this time.
It's entirely additive, so the mission names are likely to work unless they've changed the generator significantly.
The nicknames are for the LW2 classes and will only work if LW2 is installed, but should be compatible in that case.

The solder nicknames won't work in vanilla, but the mission names and the rest will.

Well it might be my i5 3570K but it is OC'd to 4.4 GHz, I've got 16G RAM and a 1070. You might be right though. That CPU is getting quite old.

I guess that would make sense if your PC is a bit on the slow side, as LW2 makes it access the name array quite a bit, and that thing is.. just a tad larger than it was designed to be, now.
Not much I can do, it's not technically my fault.

Reporting in: This mod does not apply the new nicknames to LW Perk Pack classes. Still getting the vanilla nicknames like 'Frosty'. Mission names are working correctly.

Thanks, I guess will give it a try and let you know what happens. AFAIK the classes types are unchanged, just the abilities switched around a little for LW2.

Oops. I had that explained in the original post, but I guess it never made it to the rewrite.

I'm unsure how the LWPP interacts with the classes; if they're still "LWS_Name" internally, it'll work fine. Otherwise, you won't get the nicknames part. The mission names will work fine either way.

Hi ISky. If I'm using Long War Perk Pack but NOT Long War 2, will this finger-lickin good combo mod still function? (I.e. Is it wholly dependant on LW2 or is there scope for use without it?)

That bug is in the base game - easiest way to explain it is that you have too many mods.
Removing this one didn't specifically fix it, I don't think, it's just an intermittent issue.
I don't edit any classes, I don't believe I can cause script errors like that.

Caused my game to while loading the post-mission sequence (got stuck on some image from below the Avenger - it didn't actually freeze [butterflies kept flying around] but rather stopped loading). Some UI issue with loading m_kGameCore not being accessed or something, I think. Anyway, removing the mod solved the problem, so it's definitely some error with this, maybe some weird interaction with the other mods I have installed.

No. Nicknames are assigned by class. LW2 disables the default classes and uses its own. The old ones I linked will, though. Pick either Nicknames Extended or Expanded Callsigns, not both.
