Thanks, got 'em!

Access request, granted. Thanks for confirming, i'll look further into this.
Torchlight2 Plus Feb 11 @ 6:31am
I also sent an access request just now, would like to learn from it to improve my modding skills.
Maybe it's possible to add some more customization to pets (example: more spell slots/skills/stats)
dr.h17 Feb 11 @ 12:23am
Hi doudley, still seeing the permission lock, but thanks for looking into it! I've sent an access request, but maybe it's something to do with the GD account you're using to host them? Not sure.
doudley  [author] Feb 9 @ 4:32pm
Hi dr.h17! I updated the GD links, let me know if it still ask for permission. Thanks.
dr.h17 Feb 9 @ 7:31am
Hi doudley, are you able to make the DIY warbound resources available again? The GD links are permission locked.
doudley  [author] Jan 26 @ 2:24pm
It seems you can easily follow through with my guide on how to make your own warbound. The thing is, i don't think there's a simple way to affect the stats of the warbound without changing/overwriting the mod files. But doing so, will reset your warbound. So if you want to proceed on this direction then don't forget to make precautions and remove/unequip all in-game items before hand. The simplest way I can think of on how to affect the stats of your warbound is to make a gem or item that only the warbounds will be able to use or be affected by applying unittypes tagging on their effect or requirement.

Thanks for the reply! For sure i am interested to take a look into it. I guess u only are more experienced with the code than me :) But 26 pet slots, that did/does work fine!
I also tried to add more spell slots to the pet, but I guess that amount is hard coded?

For now, working on a mod with the D2 immunes feature, giving al normal monsters random immune properties from a pool of around 50 affixes and than picks 2.
doudley  [author] Jan 22 @ 3:54pm
Thanks for using my mods. But I think it's best to modify the mod file for yourself and make the appropriate changes to the warbound. Let me know if you're interested in doing that.
Torchlight2 Plus Jan 22 @ 3:45pm
An option for making it survive could be a custom gem with 75% dam reduce and 100% chance to fully heal when hit. I dunno if you read this anymore but your mods are very well designed and the all the panels/previews and stuff are looking awesome. For sure you did put a lot of effort in this!

Btw, I did tried this mod out in the past. It's really cool, the thing is, I also like if the player itself is the only target. Then you need to hit and run!

LurkerHud I use almost always!

That's a shame, thanks for looking into it
doudley  [author] Jul 31, 2024 @ 8:48pm
Apparently, the inventory function is embedded deep in the game, that issue is out of my hand. Although I can imagine a fix for this, that will required a indirect patch to the game that is outside the capabilities of GUTS modding tool. But I'm not near to that level of programming sophistication, so that's a no go for me.

Adjusting the AI functionality of the summons, might be doable. But IIRC, there's no detailed documentation regarding that, we can only took idea from already used scripts on enemy unit files. But those seems very limiting and some cannot be repurposed to your character or companions.
doudley  [author] Jul 31, 2024 @ 8:48pm
No problem, I actually found your comments inquisitive and I wish I could have assisted you with a fix. I could say that I simply took the features used for the playable character and apply it on a customized pet and summon... but in reality I believe I may have pushed things further than intended by the GUTS tool... but in the end, some things didn't turned out as expected and the only culprit is the game itself and maybe the devs didn't expect that we will mod the game this way.
Rellik Jul 30, 2024 @ 11:43pm
I understand what you're saying, and if it's impossible to fix the issue of the inventory being removed then I'll reluctantly accept that. Thanks for your detailed responses and sorry again if I sounded rude
doudley  [author] Jul 29, 2024 @ 3:51pm
Also, you mentioning that you are on the hardest difficulty of the game reminds me of an issue reported long long time ago, that my pet mods are weak when used with synergies mod. I remember answering them with the same response, that they have to equip their companion properly/appropriately too. Because there's nothing I can do further since I made their statistics and durability identical to your playable character. In the game's code, monsters are stronger than humans, and everything is tagged as a monster except your character and most NPCs. Even your main pet is tagged as a monster, probably, reason why they can keep up on harder difficulties. And "No", I won't make the brother-in-arms and warbounds have monster's level scaling because that will defeat my intended purpose, which is to have a human companion. Doing so otherwise, made them OP, that makes my character the sidekick.
doudley  [author] Jul 29, 2024 @ 3:51pm
Technically speaking, warbounds are summoned monsters. Based on my time modding TL2, we cannot script the game freely as you probably imagining. There are portions of the game us gamers are allowed to modify, and game mechanics are one that cannot be touched. By the devs design, summons are temporary units loaded by the game. The reason why you can venture out with your warbound is because I put an invincible tagging to its unit script which is supposed to be intended for the main pet only. Its a hack of some sort. Maybe the reason why it is not a perfect system and sometimes the game still wipes the memory of the summon even if it is tagged as invincible..?
Rellik Jul 9, 2024 @ 10:34pm
I do equip them properly.
I play on the highest difficulty so maybe that has some of the blame but either way, the AI of the Warband and companions in general doesn't allow me to do much about their capabilities in staying alive besides pumping them full of modded stats that ruin the fun of the challenge.
Now, I wouldn't mind them dying a lot because that's how games like this work, I don't even mind the "Going Rogue and Attacking Me" mechanic, but why should that mean that their inventory is lost?
I don't mean to sound disrespectful, but that just seems like a bug. Or if it's intended, it would seem to be a flawed decision that is unsuited for this type of game.
doudley  [author] Jul 8, 2024 @ 9:25pm
i'm sorry but just don't let it die, please. Equip them properly to survive. Other than that, follow my tutorial on how to make your own warbound so that you make them more durable.
Rellik Jun 28, 2024 @ 2:01am
Can you please fix the issue of the warband's inventory being cleared each time it dies too much/goes rogue? Losing my items and ability tags each time the AI stupidly charges into death, aka every battle, is just making this mod unusable.
vee-kay Jan 23, 2024 @ 8:54pm
@doudley, thanks for your wonderful mod!

I think this Warbounds companion would go well with Ezreal companion (actually a pet with spell animation):

The way the game access or activate those characters is by priotization and if IIRC by this order: Player, pet, summons, then enemies/monsters. Characters will be ID'd in sequence in order of appearance on screan. Player is always zero, pet is always number 1, summons and monsters can be mixed unless you move to another stage then your summons will be prioritized earlier than monsters. Warbound is a summon and to be able to customize this character you need to know which ID it is assigned to. In my mod, I made 17 inventory panels pre exisiting in the game memory and will only appear once the logic I implemented to find the assigned ID by searching for the warbound's unique unit code on any of the 17 panels/layouts. So to have more than 3 customizable companions, one must recreate the premade layouts I did and assign them to specific unit codes that a logic will find in game.
doudley  [author] Dec 6, 2023 @ 6:02pm
I think it is possible to add another customizable companion like warbound but it won't be as efficient managing it in-game and crafting a mod for it. Each character on screen, except for NPCs, has their own set of inventory and equipment slots that is reserved in the memory and they are read with limitation...

Would it be possible to run a four man party like Dungeon Siege?
doudley  [author] Sep 14, 2023 @ 8:34am
@EvilMuggle Cool stuff!! I wish I can incorporate your mod into mine....thank you for the thoughtful work!
sorrynameused Jun 29, 2023 @ 8:26am
I love this mod! My only request is some alternate appearances for the companions, and the ability to feed warbound pets transformation items (I'd love to turn their pet into a healing wisp from synnergy/essentials mod).
doudley  [author] Feb 4, 2023 @ 8:07pm
All issues regarding pet inventory have been covered in my ISSUES AND CONCERNS discussion.

Shield equipped by your companion/pet will be automatically become breakable unless you apply the invulnerability tagging on specific shields by modding them yourself.

About load order, if all else fails, try prioritizing this mod above others.

Thank you for using my mods!
Aesenroug Feb 27, 2022 @ 1:43am
I've been looking around for a bit now and I cannot find anything about a problem I'm having in which mine and my pet's inventories are only 1 page. is there anything I can do to remedy this?
Gilgamesh Feb 3, 2022 @ 8:11pm
where do i find the invulnerable tag for shields? O.o
Waves Jan 24, 2022 @ 7:13pm
Shields are breakable on your warbound unless they have the invulnerable tag.
Gilgamesh Jan 24, 2022 @ 3:55pm
Same here, every time my berserker dies and respawn the shield disappears
Akira Jan 17, 2022 @ 2:43am
I dont know if its this mod or not but for some reason, my warbound embermage keeps losing her shield.
Gestalt Dec 31, 2020 @ 12:39am
Hey doudley!
Hope you are fine. I know that you have been out of the scene lately however I just want to return to t2 with your awesome mods installed again. Last night i have this order

Your ui compilation mod
Texture mod
Stat/Skill adjustment mod
Mercenary mod
Skill expansion(from the most updated one in forums)
Warbound
Brothers in arm
Lao part 1-2
Unearthed Arcana

The second I summon another warbound in town, it crashed to the desktop. I am really dubious about the compatibility between skill expansion and your brothers in arms mods. Maybe you can suggest an order?

mad dog. Mar 18, 2020 @ 10:22am
Nevermind. It's works together with Brother in Arms.
mad dog. Mar 18, 2020 @ 10:06am
Not working.
doudley  [author] Mar 9, 2020 @ 7:33am
I don't remember completely but pet boost works on your warbound's pets and summons if the effect came from him/her but you won't affect your warbound if the effect came from you because they are not categorized as monsters/animal pets anymore. I think I've mentioned something about this somewhere... I'll get back to you if I found it. But if you straighten this out yourself, please let me know.
Demarki Mar 1, 2020 @ 11:43pm
@doudley

Forgot to add an important question, do the pet + minion health/damage gear boost your warbount or not?
Demarki Mar 1, 2020 @ 11:43pm
@doudley

I have a question regarding pet + minion health/damage items, if the Warbound is using summons like the Engineer for example, do those +% health/damage stats apply to his summons?
doudley  [author] Mar 1, 2020 @ 2:52pm
@Nick
A warbound pet panel (warbound's pet) is not a viable option as it will cause strain on the game's ui cache even more and I remember not being able to detect the character entry of the pet, so it is not modifiable. And steffire3 was correct, I would have mention it if it is possible.

@SalbikTheRunt
The issue regarding warbound being unsummoned while portaling back to town, I have not officially acknowledged yet because so far it is isolated and I have not encountered it. The issue could be a cause of mod conflict.
doudley  [author] Mar 1, 2020 @ 2:24pm
Skills have been tried and tested. You can check the list I already tested and it is also indicated any changes made from the original. If something I missed, itshould be indicated in-game, hopefully.

How do the spells work? I added 3 but my follower is only using the first one. Also, do passives work? If yes, they don't change their stats.
Waves Jan 31, 2020 @ 2:02pm
Is there a way to edit this to allow multiple Warbounds?
Waves Jan 19, 2020 @ 4:04pm
Warbound shields can break unfourtunatly. So unless the shield is indestructable, it will break.
SalbikTheRunt Jan 18, 2020 @ 8:37pm
Anyone else have trouble with shields disappearing on warbounds? Haven't noticed a pattern to it, sometimes my berzerker will keep a shield for better part of an hour, other times I'll put a shield on him and 5 minutes later it's already gone.. All of the other equipment seems to stay as it should.

I've also had the berzerker flat out unsummon after taking a portal back to town twice now.. Both times, a single cast of the summon scroll brought him back, but he lost all of his equipment..
mad dog. Dec 18, 2019 @ 3:46pm
Thank you, anyway!
mad dog. Dec 18, 2019 @ 3:46pm
@steffire3: I see. If you can talk with him, suggest that option. That way we would put pet accessories on the pet. Maybe.
steffire3 Dec 15, 2019 @ 8:41pm
@ Nick : I understand more clearly. I'm not sure if there's a way to access it. I feel Doudley would have mentioned it if it were a feature. One small way to check indirectly is to see how much damage the Warbound's assigned Pet deals against foes. If it scales then it's damage will increase with higher main Character levels.
mad dog. Dec 15, 2019 @ 11:38am
Let me made myself more clear: I wanna see the stats of the pet binded to warbound (not the warbound, but his pet, binded to him: the animals or the humans using the hammer). There's any way to do it? I tried a lot of things and none could solve it.
mad dog. Dec 3, 2019 @ 5:18am
@steffire3: I see. But I was talking about that meele pet who follow the warbound. I know that Warbound and Char's Pet benefit on gear and stats, however, I didn't saw warbound's pet painel. That's what made me curious if I can access that with some command. Thanks anyway!
steffire3 Dec 2, 2019 @ 6:01pm
@ Nick : Warbounds do have their own Arcane Panel. It doesn't seem that they use Collars and Tags however they benefit from the same Gear that Players can wear.
