Yeah I’ve lost the tire sounds for like gravel, that crunch/crackle sound you get and I’m too lazy to go through each mod to find the culprit lol. I haven’t noticed any of the other sound features missing. Great mod as always though!

@TimmyBigTime - That's interesting. It's a tricky one since Realistic Brutal Graphics and Weather does have sound features and affects sound, but some players may not think of it as a mod that does more than graphics and weather changes
TimmyBigTime Nov 19 @ 5:54pm
For those having sound issues after 1.57, I know this sounds crazy (no pun intended) but if you're using a weather/graphics mod that may be the culprit. I've been a religious user of the Realistic Brutal Graphics and Weather mod for quite a while, now, and I found a few issues after ATS updates. Once, my turn signals stop making sound. Once, the railroad crossing lights stopped flashing, and when Iowa dropped all the traffic in Iowa was moving at a slower KPH pace rather than the posted MPH and I kept getting tickets. All these bugs got fixed, but it was a pain in the a$$ to remove each mod one by one to figure out the issue. Now, whenever I have mod issue I go to that mod first just to be sure. It's a great mod, though!

@NbaYoungBoyGlock - Thanks! Take a note of where the blinker sounds are not working in case of a bug. If the problem goes away after a Quick Travel to somewhere else, it may be a location specific bug. On my end I have not lost these sounds.

@java - Not from this mod, so I guess it's a sound mod for a specific truck model.

@delboyspencer YNWA JFT97 - Thank you so much! :)
NbaYoungBoyGlock Nov 18 @ 9:15am
great mod but i lost my blinker sounds
java Nov 18 @ 6:32am
I have a really, really dumb question.

I am trying to chase down why my shifter sounds are gone.
Was this mod adding the really lovely clicky-clacky gear shifting sounds?
delboyspencer YNWA JFT97 Nov 18 @ 4:57am
It's amazing that after all these years, this mod still gets updated...good job
Drive Safely  [author] Nov 10 @ 12:26pm
@breadpain - Thank you! :)
breadpain Nov 10 @ 6:17am
Wow, I actually didn't expect that. Top notch work my friend!
Drive Safely  [author] Nov 9 @ 7:00pm
@breadpain - Thanks for reporting! That detail helped me to narrow it down.

It is a big deal for a mod with this title. I've uploaded a fix for the issue and backported it to the 1.56 game version as well :greasemonkey:
breadpain Nov 9 @ 5:56pm
If you cross any bridge that has a small brook/stream, you'll hear it. I don't seem to hear it with large rivers or bodies of water. It's not a big deal, but it's not realistic either.
Drive Safely  [author] Nov 8 @ 12:35pm
@breadpain - Thank you. May you please provide coordinates for these nitpicks? I might be able to experiment with possible fixes for the issue in 1.57
breadpain Nov 8 @ 6:24am
This mod has always been a must have for me. I'm thinking this particular nitpick is not caused by this mod, but when driving over a river and you can actually hear the trickling of the water is quite ridiculously silly(same as hearing animal sounds). I can understand parking next to a river, rolling down your window and turning off the truck would make sense. Just an observation. I get they want to splash the game with cool stuff, but it's a bit immersion breaking. Again, I'm nitpicking a great game. Great mod btw.
Penumbra1979 Oct 17 @ 10:24pm
@Red Wolf
Cool your jets dude, I wasn't complaining, I was reporting, there is a difference.
@Drive Safely
Yes, I am using that mod, so it's likely that. Thanks.
Drive Safely  [author] Oct 17 @ 10:19pm
@Penumbra1979 - The mod itself has no errors in the game log and this file is not currently part of the mod in ATS 1.56.

This suggests your mod load order is likely to not meet the minimum requirements and there is at least one mod you're using not updated for 1.56.

I would guess the Realistic Train Lengths since that is a train related sound reference
Red Wolf Oct 17 @ 9:52pm
if you're that worried about them, figure out how to make a mod yourself
Penumbra1979 Oct 17 @ 9:42pm
@Drive Safely's
I'm experiencing some red error messages from this mod in the console log.
They are related to the "et44ah.soundref" file. I'm using v1.56 of ATS.
Thanks.

@mk-boss9900: Do you use a Lenovo system?

UDClientService.exe, associated with Lenovo's "UDC Service," is a background process for managing the Unified Device Client (UDC) framework. This service facilitates communication, updates, and control between Lenovo devices and associated software
Drive Safely  [author] Oct 3 @ 2:57pm
@Boscorelli - You're welcome! :)
Drive Safely  [author] Oct 3 @ 2:55pm
@mk-boss9900 - Your steps are not reproducible since your issue obviously came from somewhere else. Besides, the mod has already been scanned and it does not have any malware or viruses.

The Steam Workshop mod folders only contain the contents of the respective mods. It can't automatically create leftover files or registry entries outside of the folder.

Therefore now you know the mod is safe to use :letsgo:

Boscorelli Oct 2 @ 1:13pm
@Drive Safely Yeap, fixed the cracking. Still not my mood the leaves sounds, but so waaaay better now. Thank you! :praisesun:
Drive Safely  [author] Oct 2 @ 3:14am
@Boscorelli - I think this has been rectified in v25.45 - hopefully you notice a significant improvement. ✅

Thanks for the video as well. Although I was aware of the sound item already from visiting Topeka in the game, it is good to see this effort in reporting issues. :)
Boscorelli Oct 1 @ 11:23am
@Drive Safely Here's a video of the sound.
https://youtu.be/1-KSTmV7R1o (First without the mod, no sound. Then with the mod) :steamthumbsup:
Drive Safely  [author] Sep 30 @ 5:59pm
@Boscorelli - Thanks for checking. No worries, I'll take a look when I have a moment
Boscorelli Sep 30 @ 5:13pm
UPDATE:
Okay, I checked it and it was the trees with the wind. The thing is that the sound has some low "cracking" noises at certain points of the track, and that's why I noticed it.
That is also what I find annoying.

My apologies. :praisesun:

Boscorelli Sep 30 @ 4:56pm
Maybe this was something since day one but I noticed it right after the update...
Did anyone else hear like a soft white noise on 3th person?? Its like the leaves of the trees moving with the air, but for me is really annoying. I dont remember it.

(Im right now at Topeka Junct 70 - 470, right pass the toll booth.)

Its a weird sound bug or just an implemented sound?? :greasysideup:
Drive Safely  [author] Sep 19 @ 3:16pm
@Lord Linda - Indeed the developers would need to make some changes to the game for this feature. I would like it to happen too
Lord Linda Sep 19 @ 3:00pm
dang unfortunately this mod doesnt add the road joint sound to bridges. that might be more of a map issue so those sound cues are triggered at the right point. but this game has always been missing road joint sounds. maybe the devs will fix it some day
Drive Safely  [author] Sep 15 @ 6:31pm
@PNGamer - I need some steps to reliably reproduce the noise on my end: which truck, which engine used, etc.
PNGamer Sep 15 @ 11:53am
I have the popping noise as well. I just noticed it. I took it out and it is not doing it anymore.
kanth_f1 Sep 15 @ 8:25am
@Spaced Out: I believe the priority of this mod should only be higher than map mods, rain sound mods and AI traffic mods as that's what it says as minimum requirements, any other mods should be above I believe.
Drive Safely  [author] Sep 15 @ 2:03am
@Spaced Out - I'll keep a lookout for anyone else experiencing this issue, but it sounds like your issue is potentially from your truck, maybe the exhaust sound. My mod does not modify the exhaust sounds of the player truck
Spaced Out Sep 14 @ 9:09pm
I forgot you can't edit comments so I'll just add another, please forgive as this isn't really helpful. I'm not sure if its my speakers or how the games sound works or what, but it seems like the popping is related to the loud truck sounds similar to simply playing base outside of the speakers limit. It's odd cause I'm pretty sure my speakers shouldn't be sounding like that, they can handle loud base in other games. Whatever, not the biggest deal and I'm not savy enough to fix it assuming '"it" is a problem to begin with.
Spaced Out Sep 14 @ 7:57pm
I'm getting a crackling sound quite often when i have this mod activated and it's priority the highest. I don't want to blame your mod just yet, it could be some issue on my end but figured I'd mention it just incase someone else is having an issue. If i find out the cause I'll update this comment to let you know whats up.
Drive Safely  [author] Sep 11 @ 1:23pm
@DJ_Autonomous - Thanks for trying it out :)
DJ_Autonomous Sep 11 @ 1:13pm
Love this. side note, wish some sounds were a bit more intense, but i guess it's nice to not blow out my ears driving over a rubble strip. everything else is perfect, thank you!
Sanguinem Luna Sep 7 @ 4:06pm
Dang... Oh well, maybe in the future SCS will add something it could be tied to or will add it themselves. Thank you for taking the time to hear me out and discuss this. Until we next meet when I have another idea, lol! Take care!
Drive Safely  [author] Sep 7 @ 3:41pm
@Sanguinem Luna - Just wheel wear for the brake squeaking sounds :hittheroad:
Sanguinem Luna Sep 7 @ 3:30pm
Thank you, I lurk around and comment rarely. Hope you're doing well! I should've lead with that, lol. And dang, that sucks. Are there any other parts of the truck with sound-related wear or is it just wheels? Chassis was just a suggestion as it would've made some sense since the parts that would cause the problem are usually attached to the chassis.

Maybe body (now that I say it, I don't think body wear has any related sounds) or engine wear would work better? Engine makes way more sense now that I think about it, lol. I know when the engine is damaged it has sounds related to the damage value, but I don't know if any sounds are there for the wear value of the engine.
Drive Safely  [author] Sep 7 @ 2:16pm
@Sanguinem Luna - Nice to see you again and thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately, there is no chassis wear parameter for sounds that my mod can access
Sanguinem Luna Sep 7 @ 8:28am
Hey DriveSafely, I just had an idea, not sure if it's possible via this mod. The idea is to increase the frequency of certain sounds based on vehicle wear. I was doom-scrolling YouTube Shorts last night and came across a short of an owner/operator doing work on his truck. His truck was purging air more frequently than it should be (every 2-3 minutes). Investigating the issue, he found he had air leaks on a few air lines and the purge valve on the... compressor/air drier/some part of the air system (I don't know exactly what) was also leaking.

So, the idea is that if your truck (maybe chassis wear specifically) is over say 20% or more wear, you start getting air purging more frequently. Here's the short: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/KDBroHd8C9s I hope its possible to do, but I understand if not. Either way, keep up the great work!

@capitan Shkwarka - Thank you so much :D
capitan Shkwarka Sep 3 @ 3:51pm
Mr Drive Safely, huge respects for your creation. A completely different level of immersion in the game thanks to your talent! Good luck and inspiration in your endeavors :hunterface:
Drive Safely  [author] Sep 3 @ 3:01pm
@country_living - Here is a video with the current rain sound in the mod. Would you care to point out a timestamp when it sounds like fire crackling?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_i2_kCUvck
country_living Sep 3 @ 11:25am
The rain sounds horrible on the truck. Sounds more like a fire crackling then rain and no its not my speakers they are fine
Drive Safely  [author] Sep 1 @ 4:14pm
With v25.38 I've got all the sounds back on track now with the dynamic log loading/unloading for 1.56. It should be working fine now
Drive Safely  [author] Aug 28 @ 5:49pm
@likzzzz - No worries :)
likzzzz Aug 28 @ 5:49pm
I needed to unsubscribe and resubscribe to get it to work. Seems to work on all versions now. Thanks for the quick updates!
