Hi Mr. Frank. It's primary a 25 Tiles Map, but 81 Tiles are also possible.
Design is pure vanilla, no mods, LUTs or assets are necessary.

what I need for the this map
lynxxx05  [author] May 4, 2018 @ 4:00am
Hi, thanks, theme is european, vanilla. All vanilla. Greetings.
Nova May 3, 2018 @ 9:18pm
Hey, what theme did you use for this map? Is it European, tropical, etc? I'm building a map with Gokceada, and I was wondering what you specifically used for this map. Very insanely awesome build btw! Harika olmus.

This map is in the common and default 1:1 18 km scale in terrain.party (the Map Site for real maps). But I think, because the streets of cities skylines are wider than in reality, its better to have a bigger scale as a 81 Tiles map. For example 16 km lenghts for a 81 tiles map. More space for the streets and buildings.

Garen Gaaze- Yes, there are remains, ruins, of the great city walls, and an intact one around the sultans palace of topkapi.

Compared to actual maps, my map isn't the most beautiful map in the game ;), because 2016 I don't used mods like "move it" (look at the bosphorus bridges) and I don't used other trees, themes, props, and so on, just pure vanilla and the ingame editor for maps. I thought, it was good, not to place too many objects, trees, streets, etc., because every gamer has his or her own preferences. If you want other train tracks, load the map in your map editor, and place other tracks for the train, or more tracks.
Maybe I upgrading this map, but more propably I design a better version of this map with another scale to make it possible to recreate the streetnet one to one.

Yesterday I started with this guide to create another version , but have some learning with the wilbur program. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=482232215

Thanks for your feedback. Guren Gaaze. My goal in 2016 was a 25 Tile Vanilla Map. So, at the edges I put little time to design the map, because in my gameplay I don't see the edges anyway. :) The tracks of the european train is accurate, the asiatic side not 100%. In my own city game, I experiment with all the possible walls. If you want the theodosian wall, I recommend to use this pack. It looks also the best as the topkapi walls. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=725215183&searchtext=walls

Look also to this wall pack, maybe better for the theodosian higher wall, and the other for the lower wall (theodosian wall has two walls behind each other): https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=409458504

Oh, now I saw another wall pack, I don't experiment till now. Try it also: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1139641439&searchtext=walls

Overall a very nice map, the roads are "very" rought around the edges though at some places, very horrible to look at. And are the train tracks accurate? It would also be nice (if possible) to add a little wall around where Thedosian walls stood, that'd be really cool. (And I think there are still remains of it standing today) Do you plan on updating this, or are you finished with the map?

The Bosphorus is a strait, but the black sea is at higher level than the aegean sea (and the marmara sea), so the water flows down into the south. I've put some source-"assets" at the edge of the map in the north of the boshporus, to simulate this flow.
humbleacadie Mar 25, 2018 @ 3:01pm
Okay i see. Regarding the Boshporus, my question was that i was wondering why there was a "current" flowing in the Bosphorus strait. Considering it's not a river, but a strait between two seas, I did not understand why the water was flowing there (unlike the western rivers of the Horn, where it makes sense)
lynxxx05  [author] Mar 25, 2018 @ 9:53am
@Rewolf I understand your last question not really. Sorry, english isn't my mothertongue. The bosphorus is a strait, and we see in this map a segment of this. In the north, the bosphorus flows some kilometers outside the map in the black sea. (Btw: the stream is from north to south). And in the map, we see the bosphorus flows into the marmara sea in the south. The stream is correct in my map from north to south, if you want to deploy purification plant / savage plant, think about to deploy that in the south parts of the map, maybee on the easter asiatic shore.

Thanks Redwolf for your feedback. :steamhappy: My idea for the starting point is for the casual player, to learn the mechanics of the game in a tile away from the center. When he experiment the game in the suburbs, the player can than after buying the other tiles, slowly build better districts, more beautiful districs, more expensive unique buildings in the old center of Istabul. And leave the suburbs tiles as it was, while he experiment there the workshop assets and mods. Focus in detailing the map in the center of old Istanbul. The goal is old Istanbul center, a question for longterm motivation. Thats my thoughts, as I choose this tile as starting point. If you want an other starting point, starting tile, install a mod to choose free your starting tile. Oder load the map in your ingame map editor and choose there an other tile, and save your own individual Istanbul map.

humbleacadie Mar 21, 2018 @ 2:08pm
Also, I don't really understand the flowing current through the strait... is it not supposed to be a sea-sea connection, rather than a river ?
humbleacadie Mar 21, 2018 @ 2:07pm
The map is great, it is definitely the best map of Istanbul i was able to find. However here are ideas to make it even better.

The starting area is not really enjoyable for a start. It is a quite narrow valley, surrounded by forest hghlands with a slopy connection to the river.
I thus suggest moving the starting point to the peninsula of the old Istanbul city center (old Constantinople). Maybe adding a few ruins would give a nice flavor as well

lynxxx05  [author] Dec 17, 2017 @ 5:00am
Maybe in Scale 1:1? Only the center of Istanbul, but than you could recreate the real streetnet?

Hi TO Alperen (Rıçıt), what do you mean? Which map template I use, which color correction? It depends on your monitor calibration, I use some LUT in this Screenshot: http://imgur.com/a/tUqTn
Some mods I use I mentioned above in the description, other mods you can see in the screenshot. The View is from the asiatic side of Istanbul to the european side. To the financial district of Levent. I played not long enough, to build alone the coast of the bosphorus the buildings and palaces. :)

Sorry! map tempate and color currection*
lynxxx05  [author] Mar 2, 2017 @ 9:43am
hehe, girhen, you could design it like Byzantion, Nova Roma, Constantinople, Dar es-Saadet, Istanbul or Megalopolis... ;) It's your choice. :steamhappy:

@yippee kai yay : Yes, you must expand first your areal via highways and harbours before you get into the tiles on the asian and european site with the stations, Haydarspasa and Sirkeci, the old Orient Express Stations.
Thanks, RedRebel.
