If you want to check out my first (extremelyshortandeasy) level, it's Broken Society. The reason of it not being from this account is because I was using a friends account. (I then eventually got the game myself and actually just started doing stuff instead of leaching from my friends account). But anyway, I'll work on it and tell you soon!
I would love to see your work when you are done, so if you haven't forgotten me by that time, please hollar it here to announce it for me!
And no problem! Your level was fun to play! ^-^
The text is simply stolen/borrowed(?) from one of the official/main levels of the game. You can load one of the levels to edit, then find elements within that level and simply copy/save it to your own personal folder (ingame, in the editor).
1: Just try out one of the official levels to find stuff you want to implement.
2: Remember the name of the level and where you are on the track to find the object/element.
3: Select the object/element or whatever it is, and save it
Optionally: you can select what you want and Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V(?) when you load your own level.
Copy-pasting can be tested on the official level as well, just to check if it works or not. Just remember to NOT SAVE an edited official level. Might be... problematic.
Write back to me if you have any further questions :)
And thank you for trying my level!
Yes, the light-problem is mentioned below by Reptile_Mk2 as well.
Disabling "Sun shafts" is currently the only known way of fixing this. Sure hope it helps for you as well!
Its awesome to see someone try and implement some sort of story into these tracks.
There is only one problem in my opinion, in some places the light shafts are too bright, i cant see the road and the text that is show up
Well I didn't do much, but sure hope you enjoy the level better now when you can just turn the shafts off :)
If you are making a video, I would love to see it!
I will look into this at once I find time for it. Stay tuned, and I'll update you here in a few days
Windows 7. Didn't try to reach the line coz of broken textures and terrible graphics. Will try to investigate.
P.S. Love your track very much. Soft and "flow"-ish.
And why i asked. I'm making hypnotizing video about Distance and have footage with your track, recorded in smooth quality (by my mistake), so i started to re-record in high quality and found this.
That's a bug I haven't seen before.
Are you using windows or Mac OS?
Have you tried reaching the finish line?
Any sudden changes during the track (e.g. lightning, buildings disappears)
Sound/music seem normal?
Anything else worth mentioning, e.g. invisible walls?
Passed it 3 weeks ago, and wanted to try it again today.
But i get this bunch of rays when it should be beautiful night on the Earth's orbit.

Is it fixable?
*Insert "Not Sure If" meme here*
But all in all I really liked the idea with the narrator thingy. Would love to see an secual or something like that
Visually there were some good parts. Despite it being out of place I did like the misty rock section, and your portal area was cool. Don't take my criticisms for me thinking it was bad. It's a neat concept and you have my upvote but you can definitely improve in future iterations of this one or other future tracks.
Yeah, it would be best if you did
Anyways, these new lines for Mr. H. would mean that all the information he's giving you after finishing the first crossroad (you know, giving you all the reasons why you should stay alive etc) should be told before the empire is alerted, right? That would make more sense? And it's a very short gap between the "look for a restricted zone..." and "Sentinels alerted"..
I can be pretty imaginative, but trying to come up with an actual story for Distance while taking into account the limitations you have in the editor- it get's a bit though :P
I'll do the editing, then ;D
So basically, with the current text, Mr. H says that the player must go through a portal that leads into the infected zone, and that he can't communicate with the player until they exit. He gives no reason. What I got from that is "hey, lets go into the infected zone for no reason!" My solution to this gap in the storyline is thus: earlier in the level, the "Empire Sentinels" are alerted, right? So what if Mr. H says something along the lines of this:
"Dang it! Those Sentinels are catching up! The only way you can escape them is by heading into the infected zone; they won't follow you in there. I should warn you first, though. I can't actually talk to you once you're inside, so you'll have to do this alone. Be careful!"
And then when the player DOES enter Mr. H's portal, the car feedbacks like a "Connection lost: error code blahblahblah"
As for a team-up:
Bro, let's rock it (if you want
Thank you, Dubfiance! Appreciate it bigtime!
I'm actually into making a "sequel" with anyone interested. Making a story with multiple people is how things get better.
If you have ideas for how the story evolves, then don't hesitate. Write it down here, or contact me personally (if you'd like to brainstorm without being afraid of ideas being stolen)
Here's a tip for you guys to do the fastest route without leaving the track:
There are 3 crossroads. Take the first one left, then right and the last one left.
If you don't die and maintain speed, you can get that medal :)
