Using this map now in my FINAL city build for my YouTube channel, and it will all be bases upon quality, doing a lot of decorating and making the on this map as beautiful as possible. This map has a very solid division of types of terrain, not too much or too little of every thing, not too much ocean, too many islands, too many mountains, too much flat area, too little flat area etc.

Absolutely one of the best maps for countryside villages, national parks, wood and fish industry. Impressive how good it looks after almost four years from publishing :) I like forests and grass placed everywhere. Only thing I dont like is rapidly changing train elevation/slopes - but that can be rebuilt.

I'll be moving here in a month or so and am so happy to have found this, thank you!

Very nice map. look great with Monte Belo. but holy cow does it use up RAM 2.2GB. lol But it's worth it for 4k displays.

ahhhh theres nothing better than destroying a national park by building acres of industrial wasteland on it :D
cawaiiciel Aug 19, 2017 @ 6:10am
It's really beautiful map.
Love it.
Thanks.

Too bad the most playable areas are outside the 25 tile area. I don't use the 81 tile mod, I think it makes everything slower. Really nice map though.

Thanks BonBonB for your seal of approval! Your map review reminds to update the wibbly-wobbly Doctor Who roads and train tracks at certain spots :) which i will do soon for next update.

First, Thank you everyone for the nice and critical comments! I have been away from Cities for a while and only recently started playing again. I've looked at a few of the problem spots this map has and have a few improvements. It's mostly the starting area and the flow of the river that runs through it.

The river runs a bit smoother and especially in the starting area it has a better/constant flow. It's still a bit of a wild one, which is caused by the two smaller wild rivers joining further upstream. Having adjusted this river made the flow for sewage into it a lot better. It shouldn't back up anymore.

The starting area also has a few better spots for wind mills to gain the maximum power output.

For those who find the Natural Beauty theme too bright, i recommend the Monte Belo Theme which has the same realistic sun position. And use the Cinematic HD LUT if u think vanilla Natural Beauty is too bright.

One of the best maps I ever played. Just don't use Natural Beauty, use any other theme instead.
KMichael May 10, 2017 @ 4:58pm
Following my last comment - the Daylight Classic mod somewhat fixes the brightness issue. However, it leaves the landscape with a bluish tinge as if there were an eclipse. This can be improved further by using a color correct setting in Options (e.g. tropical). I still haven't decided if I will use this map, but thought it was worth posting this information.

I really like the idea of this map, but when I load it the colors are so bright I can't see any detail. The grass is flourescent and the roads are so white I can barely see the lanes. Not sure what the issue is - I downloaded Natural Beauty and all the assets/props.

lol,if you ever wanted to destroy Grand Teton National Park, here's your chance! :) j/k, I liked the place in real life
icelen Nov 22, 2016 @ 9:54pm
so why would you build a city on a national park?
Mr. Unagi Nov 17, 2016 @ 12:12am
been building on this for a while now....challenging defintely but very cool terrain and lots of creative decisions to be made. Incredibly hard to remake the highway system in any way, but highly recommended overall for those looking for something interesting and fresh

This is an amazing map! Although I apologise that I've already got it in Map Editor to change the highways and railways a bit... I'm fussy like that!
