Very good for a 2012 map, i've made my own timetravel map with scripts, if you see my message one day, i would be interested by your opinion:

It's a great map, but I'd like to finish it.
I think there is also opportunity to make some "Day of the Tentacle" type puzzles like changing test chamber blueprints in the past in order to make the built test chamber different in the future. You could even paradoxically make the player responsible for the invention of the portal gun...
Until I started thinking with time portals. XD

Create about 10+ chambers revolving around these time travel mechinisms. Make them follow a story and make them gradually get harder and harder.
(If you were to really take it this far I wouldn't know what to say) Make (or choose a Core sprite) and insert your (or some one elses) voice into him and have him tutorial you thoughout the test chambers. And (like you) he'd be involnerable to the paradox of walking through time.
Although the test chambers are already great!
