I had a nightmare recently where everyone had forgotten the original Half Life 1 radio chatter and instead remembered a world where the HECU soldiers always used the radio chatter from Opposing Force, and I want to save my XCOM 2 from that reality. Please.
Love this mod man, I think you're the only one who has done this with HL1 voice lines.
Hey, jsut figured I'd mention this (I know it would be alot of work), but I think you're not recreating the HECU vocies 100% correct. The sentce.txt file in HL1 actually has little additional settings that change the pitch and tempo of the HECU lines, by default they'll sound very slow comapred to how they compare in game. I've already edited togather several of the orginal lines, but I have yet to edit any new lines togather. If you want I can send you the edits and show you want I'm talking about.
Thanks for the info! There is indeed one, it's a shame that is so loud compared to all the other sounds in the game that it's basically ear rape.
Take your time.
Well I just looked up a youtube video on how to do this with Audacity, and now I know all it takes is one press of a button. I can't believe I didn't bother to just look that up sooner, I was certain it'd be more complicated xD. I'll be working on making an update to this pack as soon as I can, and I'll work to add in some new lines if possible. Thanks a lot for your feedback Beagle, and thank you for your offer to help! I think I'll be able to get this done myself in a few weeks now, so look forward to that update! :D
@Spinosaurus Aegyptiacus
I've thought of that idea a little bit, and I think I'm going to work on making it as soon as I'm finished with the male voices. That'll be a big update though, so don't expect to see it soon. I'll do my best and give it a shot at the very least :)
Oh hey can this voice pack be used on females too please? that way it isn't awkward when you have say, one male, and a bunch of females in a team (the game loves giving me females, and I shouldn't have to gender change each time)

@Cosmic Castaway A90 - Audio editing programs definitely have the ability to speed up their speech without raising the pitch. I can try doing so to prove its possible if you can link me a download of the voice files you're using, I'd be happy to help if I can as I love the HECU Grunts and have been waiting for a good pack. Either way thanks for the response! They sound good, it's just that when they should be saying "YES SIR" and they instead say "YESSSS ---- SIRRRRR" it detracts from it for me :P
I tried altering the speed of the voice files a bit in the past when I was originally making this, but the voices became much higher pitched as a result. At some point I might give it another try, for now though I'm just keeping them the way they were in the game files. If I find a method that works in the future then I'll make a big update to all the voice lines.
I used the "Classic" camo pattern, color 67 for the primary armor color, and color 125 for the secondary armor color. You need the additional armor colors mod to get the 125 color, I'm not sure about 67.
The altered sounds are from Uejji's Battle Rifle Pack. His pack actually adds in new weapon models for the assault rifles, while making the vanilla assault rifle a heavier battle rifle with differing stats. I highly recommend the pack, and you can find a link to it above in the mod description.
No problem.
I've gotta remember to add this information in the Voicepack Tutorial, along with stuff from the Music Modding tutorial.
Thank you so much for that info! I was able to normalize and equalize the volume enough so that the voice lines aren't quite as loud. By the way, your guide on how to create Voice Packs was a massive help for me to create this pack in the first place, and I'm going to be using your guide on how to get the workshop tags to show up on the workshop page as well. Just wanted to thank you for all the help you've given to the community, you rock man!
@Mutt
And thanks to E3245's help, the "ear-rape" will be lessened with the next update. Rejoice!
You can fix the volume issue by normalizing all of the audio files, using Audacity's Chain feature to mass convert. Normalizing it will make the volume consistent for all files.

I agree that I don't want their voices to be super quiet, but I might lower the volume of the pack just a tiny bit. I've found that when I put all my soldiers on overwatch at once with multiple soldiers using my pack, that it tends to blast my speakers a little more than I'd like.
@Postmaster
I did try to speed up some of the lines I pieced together, but their voices become cartoonishly squeaky. I might look into this later down the line, but for now I think I'll get around this by making certain certain lines appear less often than others.
@Oberfuhrer-Razgriz
Yeah, there must be something out there that could work though. It's just a matter of if someone who speaks German wants to make a German voice pack for the game, be it with soldiers or robots.
Once again thank you all for the feedback, it really does help me think about how to make this pack better :D
You can find more details on the discussion page I created!
Thank you for all the kind words, keep that feedback coming, I love hearing what you all think of the Voice Pack! :D
Thank you!
By the way, the secondary color I used for the torso armor on the grunts was 125. If you don't already have it downloaded, you can grab this mod to get that color: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=629604401&searchtext=more+colors
Same here, I think we all needed a badass army of cannon fodder to throw at the aliens :)
Nice reference lol
