I Have confirmed upon further testing that There is a potential conflict causing this issue. probably something common. I will post when I have found out what mod conflicts.

The only thing I can think of is a possible memory issue. The game engine supports up to 256 without this mod, but the flag is set to 30 for performance' sake. This mod just moves that flag back to 256 so as to let people decide what their own systems can handle. (To be clear, this mod does not add or remove anything regarding the operational functions of the game, assets, or any support systems, including the UI. All of it's already a part of the core engine/game.)

If you are using a 32bit OS, or otherwise have a lower RAM capacity, then that would be why you're crashing. This game is extremely resource intensive, and very easily cause an OOM. I found that even 16g of memory was often not enough for this game, and was the primary reason I upgraded a while back.

There should be no "conflicts" other than one mod or the other overriding variables based on load order, but that won't crash your game.

Running on linux(not probably preferable but ive been able to run most other mods just fine including rec prisoners) and this mod always seems to crash me after about 2 minutes of game play minim and fixes upon uninstall. any ideas as to the crash reason? Ive been unable to get a crash file either it just freezes and I need to close the game via steam itself.

Yes, this mod can be added or removed at any time on any savegame without worry. There is nothing saved in the savegame data regarding this mod, so use it as your leasure.

Hello, good day. Could you make me a mod that increases the limits even more? I’d like to be able to have 2048 recruits, as well as 20 squads and 120 per squad. This flag is just called at the time of dialogue attempting to recruit a character: "Recruited units >/= 30, if yes cannot recruit; if no, can recruit", changed to 256. Not only is that a core part of the base game itself (I did not add it or change it other than adjusting the allow/disallow threshold), That number itself has no other function within any other operations of the game and is never checked except for that specific circumstance.

The UI changes are the same.

Meaning that whether you have this mod installed or not, you are still running the exact same operations and game. (that is why it's so plug and play, because nothing is added or removed or overwritten outside of normal operations). It is also why this mod causing any sort of crash is extremely unorthadox. Because it doesn't actually do anything.

Play for a while without and see if you have any more crashes. If after a few days of playing it seems stable, try reinstalling the mod and trying again.

Thanks for your quick response. before reading this is dismissed followers down to 30, saved, uninstalled the mod and I haven't had a crash to desktop. It would be strange if this glitch was unique to me. LMK if i can provide further details.

Forgot to add, that this mod is 100% plug and play compliant due to what it does. You can install it, recruit beyond the limit, extend your squads, and then uninstall it and there will be no issues whatsoever. You can continue to play with 31+ units, you just won't be able to recruit more of them until you fall below 30 again, and you won't be able to move around units into your UI past the vanilla limits. Everything else, including your save game operates exactly as though the mod was never installed at all.

I'm sorry to hear that, I don't really know what could be causing that.

This mod doesn't add nor change any assets, referencing, nor any engine operations, nor does it change anything about how the game handles.. well.. Anything at all. Not even units you've recruited.
The only thing it does is change a number from 30 to 256, along with numbers of items allowed within the UI, and that recruitment flag is only checked at the time of recruitment and then dismissed as it has no relavency at any other time in the game. Literally just a single yes/no checksum at that time and that's it. It has no live functionality.

If you uninstall this mod and it's still crashing, then it is 100% not related to this mod, as there is no save data information involved with this mod, as that flag is part of the core, not your save game.

If you do uninstall it and it stops crashing, then that is very strange, and may just have something to do with how your game is handling mods in general.

Getting constant crash to desktop after enabling this mod. Only 33 recruits. No lagging or other performance issues, just crashes after five mins or less. Got really bad after broken ones started following me but its just as bad without them after I imported the game. New ROG Strix laptop has always run everything fine.

Was just getting ready to invade Stack. Favourite play through. Total bummer.

This mod doesn't control whether or not you can speak to people, their dialogue, or whether you can recruit people you couldn't normally recruit. The only thing it does is let you continue to recruit people beyond the normal cap that you could always already recruit by normal means.

Since you can't normally recruit people you capture, this sounds like an issue with another mod that may be letting you do that.

It seems that's some issue with female cannibal recruit. I try on capture some cannibal and that's no problem for recruit any male cannibal. They just don't have any slider like other race but for female one that's completely no dialogue option.

So I guess this is just a result of some bad actors having a personal argument with eachother and it ended up bleeding over into exploiting the DMCA system.

Looks like my mod was hit by some movement against valve or some other political agenda. I don't know where this DMCA came from, but i'm certain it wasn't from Lofi.

I'm working to get this resolved, but it'll take time. I don't know if this is effecting people's ability to use this mod or not, if so, I apologize for the inconvenience.

New person to Kenshi here. Just want to say thank you for this mod. Everyone I see playing this recommends this mod specifically. Sometimes a simple mod is all it takes to boost an experience. Well done!

Building my own faction turned out to be more fun that I expected ... gotta expand my criminal syndicate of drug-dealing and bootlegging assassins!

If your recruitment cap is not 256, that means you have another mod installed that also changes your recruitment limit that you currently have below this mod in your list. Figure out which mod that is, and place this mod below that one to correct the issue.

20 squads with a capacity of 50 means that there are 1000 potential slots that characters can be inserted into in the UI, but the actual recruitment cap is 256. You cannot fill all squads to the UI capacity. It is just set up that way to give people more control over how to divide up their units.

Probably the same reason someone will buy a single red marker over a pack of 16 colors.. Because they just need a red marker.

For those who are trying to change one very specific thing, isolated mods that do precisely that one thing are still favorable over a mod that will change a bunch of other things that someone isn't looking for, or might present other hassles in the process.

@Mighty Mozenrath FCS is pretty self explanatory, also when looking at a mod you can see all the changes it makes with one click. The real problem comes with understanding what exactly all those changes do. Some mods change values they really have no need to change, some miss values they really should change, and others just simply don't know the values exist that they can change. Explaining all of this in detail would a lot for most casual players. The point of mods are to "plug and play" with very little technical know-how required to get everything running to play the game.

If you want a guide on using FCS then you'll have to go looking in places where people post mod making guides, I think one is here on Steam for Kenshi, it's just old as dirt.
