It also looks like it's more susceptible to breaking a bunch of things or ceasing working due to updates. I don't discourage people into looking into the mod, but it's a stretch to say it's a "replacement" especially since this mod is specifically designed to only tackle one individual thing that people may be looking for.
To answer your question though, no. I do not have a collection. There are only like 3 mods I use on kenshi. This one, a hairstyle one, and a personal npc character one that is not on the workshop.
Will try the one from nexus mods, wich allow 256 recruits 256 squad limit and 256 squads itself.

What i did was i removed the mod via unsubbing, i restarted steam and then i ran the game (no mod use attempt) and then i quite the game after 30 seconds and then i subbed back again and restarted the game and BOOM, back to normal!
Very odd but it worked and i tried EVERYTHING that sounds similar to get this to work and nothing did so my mind set was to create the exact situation i had before when i originally subbed/downloaded the mod even as simple as playing it without the mod before trying to add it in again.
I didn't delete the challenge i had and shared my answer in case someone else had the same issue.

In steam the mod is there listed, but when i launch the game, no mod is found or working.
I have no other mods, i never did.
I verified integrity of game files again, still nothing.
Normally i don't have issues like this, the first time i installed it, it worked perfectly, i have no idea what to do now and i don't wanna just reinstall the game over this.
The way mod order works, is that when loading mods, it loads starting from the top, downwards to the bottom, overwriting any variables as it goes. That means if you have two mods that have an identical variable edit, the one loaded later will be what is loaded. This is very important when needing to control how mods are interacting with eachother.
In this instance, placing this mod on the very bottom is not mandatory. It is never mandatory for any mod, but until I put up that notice, I kept getting complaint after complaint that the mod was broken and that I needed to fix it, when nothing needed to be fixed. In short, if you don't know, just place it on the bottom. It saves people headaches.
and this mod can
1) dramattically reduce perfomance and stability
2) high risk of a gamesave crash
and non lethal but:
1) hard to controll and rearm , feed that army
2) game cant have many needed mechanisc to managed +30 members> such as mass cancel orders in task etc.

When you launch Kenshi from steam, it should come up with a kenshi launching UI first. In that window, there should be a "mods" tab. Click on that, and make sure that the 256 recruitment limit mod is checked before continuing.
I checked my __mods.list file and the mod is there, but not in my mods.cfg. It also doesn't appear in the Mod menu in Kenshi.
I tried editing the mods.cfg file by adding the 256 mod, but when I load Kenshi it disappears from the file.
I also tried importing the game and unsub/sub to the mod and no luck. The only mods I have are dark UI, sandbox adv training, and nice map. Not sure if this is relevant, but I launch the game through steam and it syncs to the cloud.
I didn't have this issue with the mod before. Took a 6 month break from the game and just got to my 31st recruit attempt. Probably something dumb I'm doing, but can't find a work around.
