256 Recruitment Limit

Description
FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS 256

A mod to increase recruitment and squad limit.

Increases recruitable units from 30 to 256
Increases maximum members in each squad from 20 to 50
Increases maximum number of squads from 10 to 20

Instructions:

Simply subscribe to the mod and make sure that it's load order is below any other mod that also changes squad sizes.
If you find that this mod is not working, while other mods work fine, then I guarantee you that the issue is that you have another mod below this one that is overwriting the squad size. If you are uncertain of what other mod could be changing these variables, keep lowering this mod on the list until it works, or just simply place it below everything else.

NOTE:
This is a player recruitment mod ONLY. It does not effect npc squad spawns, numbers, or behaviors in any way.

Q&A
What does this mod do precisely to my game?

This mod does two things: one, it moves a single variable that is read to determine whether or not you are allowed to recruit units beyond the set variable. In vanilla, this is set to 30, but it can be set from anywhere from 1 to 256. I simply set it to 256.
Two, this mod allows more room for units to be distributed into various squads organized within your UI, which acts similar to the recruitment.
Both functions are core parts of the game and thus are fully accomodated by the operations of the game itself.

I have a savegame I've been playing for a while.. Do i have to start over to use this mod?

Absolutely not. This mod is entirely plug and play compatible regardless of anything. Love it, hate it, add it, remove it to your own leasure. New game, or old game, it has no impact.

I've recruited more than 30 units. If I uninstall this mod will it cause any problems? Will I lose the units I recruited over 30??

Not at all. The game itself does not care how many units you actually have recruited, the only limiter is a single check flag that is only called on at the time of attempting to recruit another unit to see if it's allowed or not. Whether you have 10 units, 30 units, or 200 units, this mod is not required to still use them. You will just not be able to recruit any more units until your numbers drop below 30 again.

Is this mod compatible with other mods?

Absolutely. This mod can be loaded along with any mods out there without interfering with any other mods operations. Just keep in mind that if another mod also changes squad sizes or recruitment limits, these specific variables will be determined by whichever mod is loaded below the other.
IE, if another mod adds a bunch of functions, but changes the recruitment limit to 100, placing this mod anywhere in your list will not interfere with the mods other functions, but if you place this mod above that mod, the recruitment limit will be set by the other mod (100). So if you wish to use the functions of another mod, but wish to use the limits of this mod, simply place this mode below that mod, and both will play nice with eachother.

After installing this mod, my game is bugging out! And It just crashed my game!

Other than the UI element (which is passive and fully accomodated by the core game), this mod only exists in your game at the moment you attempt to recruit a new unit, in which it checks a single number that already exists in the game, to see whether you have less than that number or not. Outside of that very microsecond, this mod doesn't even exist and has no functions or operations on your game. Thus, if you are experiencing bugs or crashes, then I am inclined to advise you to look at other possibilities, as this mod doesn't do anything that could cause those sorts of things.

Disclaimer: Performance!
There is a reason the game is defaulted to a maximum 30 units. Exceed maximum at your own risk.
Many have reported decreases in both fps and AI processing. This is a result of increased entities in your game world taking up more rendering and processing resources. This is normal, and there is nothing I nor this mod can do about that. There are a few things you can do to help reduce the lag, but ultimately it is up to you to find that sweet spot for yourself.

1. Import your game.
If the lag starts becoming too much, try importing your game. This will clear out a lot of the extra clutter of corpses, items, and orphaned/roaming squad units, freeing up more resources for your own squad. (NPC squads take priority with AI processing. The less of them there are, the better your Ai processing will be.)
Please note that this is a temporary remedy, and over time you may start seeing a decrease in performance again. Rinse and repeat as necessary if desired.

2. Reduce NPC squad number and npc squad size sliders.
This will reduce the amount of npc entities being processed, freeing up resources for your own squad. This is a longterm solution but may not be ideal for some people's gameplay, and may still not be enough depending on how many you recruit.

3. Reduce your own squad count.
If nothing else seems to be working, then chances are you've just simply recruited too many units. Reducing your own squad count may be the only way to aid decreases in performance.

230 is pretty nominal. The default is set to 30 because the engine can only handle so much before things start falling apart.
When I first started toying with modding numbers before the workshop came along, I was playing a 100 unit start, and back then if you tried to get them all to move at once, more then half of them would stand around doing nothing for like 10~15 seconds and then -maybe- they'd start moving. Lots of combat pains where people would stand around not fighting.
The amount of processes running keeping cells active, particularly if you're spread out quite a bit is bound to bottleneck somewhere.

I just wanna say this mod is great, just did my first big run at Kenshi using recruitable mod as well and it let me build large outposts all over the world run by skeletons. The only problem is as you get near the upper limit you get some problems with path finding especially when sending people long distance as groups will randomly split off and often stop pathing before they reach their destination or even short distance sometimes people are unable to move for a while, a problem I didn't have before I recruited over 230 people who were running around outposts all the time. It was fun but having so much power let me clean up really quick and now Kenshi is a prosperous hell hole.

Try restarting Steam and/or your computer. That usually resolves mods not showing up.
