I havn't played this in a LONG time but as far as I recall it doesn't matter at all where you put the projector so long is its not blocking a port, a seat, or obviously like in front of the drills. The only thing that matters is that once you project it you have to rotate and align the image to overlap the ship.

BTW, how do you know where to put the projector so that it will not interfere with the blueprint? It seems that different authors do it in different ways...

Hi,
Looks interesting.
I wanted to past this with a projector but it told me that there were some items that were not available in my (vanilla) planetary world. Any idea what those items might be?
Kind Regards,

There is a timer block you can find in the menu. Just select it and hit the "start" button.

Any LCD screen that updates information will require 3 things. A script, a programable block, and a timer block. In this case the script is preloaded.. The timer block is already set up. You just have to start the timer. I only go into detail in case you run into similar situation on other builds :)

The ore inventory LCD panel doesn't seem to be working for me. Do I need another mod? It stays at 0.

Would also work well in space then. Just keep in mind Ion has serious penalty working in gravity of planets.

Had to replace all atmos engines with Ion as I had the fine idea to build a base on top the tallest mountain. Now I need an ore carrier.

THX, glad you like it. for easier building take it to creative and cut it into layers building it front to back then load susequent blueprint as you go along. I use 5 sections for easy building but whatever works best for you. Also if you or the server you are on has the "nano factory" mod it is very useful for building blueprints.

Love it! Building it is not so hard if you are careful, and it performs like a champ! :D

I had thought about the idea of modifying the blueprint but that's a great idea, thanks! I found it was ok if I put it on its tail (so pointing straight up) and had a welding platform, pointing down, move up very slowly. You can get everything it misses by removing the 2 large conveyor tubes either side of the cockpit and wriggling in with a jetpack but there are a few incomplete blocks that way too, which are just tricky to find.

Off to make blueprints, at least that's something I can do until they fix the ships sinking problem! :D

thx. try loading the ship up in your own creative game. Then move sections of it. save another blueprint. remove more... save another blueprint. Then as you build it start adding the next blueprint until you are done. I think I use 5 iterations before mine is done but makes it WAY easier to build

She's a ♥♥♥♥♥ to build off the projection but well worth the effort, great job!

Because I like to land on frozen lakes. Its easier for me to build a base up as the terrain is perfectly flat. It is also easier to spot the dark color on the surface which denotes ore underneath. So when you are mining under a lake because the ore veins are so thin you collect between 50%-80% ice. If what I need is Iron for example and I want to go out mining I can eject the ice and come back to base with 700k Iron ore. Ore I can keep all the ice and come back to base with 50k Iron and 650k ice. Besides that because I base on top of the ice there is always Ice right beside me. So even when I do need ice I mine it from right beside my base to reduce travel time. Vs mining ice from an iron mine that may be 5k away and hauling that ice all the way back to base. If I have to travel that far for ore then that's all I want is the ore.

That said you can keep all the ice and stone. Just turn off the two Sorting blocks. I do this when I need ice or stone.

Why would you dump ice!?!?!?!? Need so much of it....

thx I'm glad you liked it. I had similar issues in development and it was almost a joke to put large reactors but I did at it finally gave me enough power to get completely away from batteries dropping the weight and removing the possibility of running out of battery power mid drill.

As for the thrust to weight ratio its a little harder to work out in survival but if you are designing in creative mode you can build your basic ship and then just add thrusters to it one at a time until it will barely take off. (fill it to the mass limit you want to be able to carry first)

Whatever amount of thrusters it takes to barely lift off you want 2x that many lifting for decent control of the vehicle and 1 x that many for directional controls. If you want fast response to your controls double it again. So barely lifting is a 1:1 ratio. decent control is 2:1. and fast response is 4:1

Love this miner, I tried building quite a few 'small' miner variants but could not get the thrust to weight ratio's correct. I suspect that using batteries is a killer here in terms of weight and power delivery limits, good to see reactors are working better. Mine were much simpler and I still could not get them to work so congratulation on a real success.
