Is it just me or does this not work for the Spotlights when you are controlling them?
EdrickV Mar 4, 2022 @ 6:57pm
Can't zoom out as much as you can with regular camera, which makes this useless to me in my current game. Also doesn't work with modded cameras.
luftmann Jan 7, 2022 @ 3:56pm
Hi Blind, Camera Isn't clean anymore recently. Was there an update that wrecked it? Thanks.
Valiant Maverick Aug 21, 2021 @ 1:58pm
This my favorite camera overlay so far. It's easy to see through and offers some simple cues to let you know you're looking through a camera.

Great mod when working, loved using it when i was running a server

Cross Hair removed from camera since Nov update.

This mod needs all the awards! Because why in the future has camera's gotten worse.

any luck on being able to find a script that successfully connects these cameras too LCD display panels?

Thank you Blind_Rifleman ... was hoping

Used to be scripts that could overlay LCD's with camera feeds, but they all seem to be broken now.

Hoping some one would make a mod so the can be cameras is linked to LCD screens
Vaeringjar Feb 13, 2018 @ 3:42pm
thanks, I think I prefer this version though, hopefully still works :)
Vaeringjar Feb 12, 2018 @ 10:43pm
link?
Blind_Rifleman  [author] Jun 14, 2017 @ 5:09pm
I think it still does, but screaming angels put out a newer version that also fixes the turrets. I'm not planning on working on this mod anymore because his is better.
Girthquake Jun 11, 2017 @ 7:23pm
Does this one work? Sage's version is broken for me and I hate the vanilla camera. I would check myself but have no access to the game right now...
Blind_Rifleman  [author] Oct 7, 2016 @ 6:56pm
I just found your mod, and you have full permission to use my mod's artwork. I admit I have not been working on any mod improvments for a long time, so feel free to use this to improve space engineers.
Screaming Angels Sep 30, 2016 @ 7:21pm
Hey Blind_Rifleman, I've built a new camera overlay with targeting crosshairs, but I've built it based on your texture.
I haven't made it public yet. I wanted to get permission, or perhaps add you as contributor. I've friended you.

Hey thanks for replying. Any screen that doesn't have the ugly effect is ok. Crosshair and maybe turret or grid name for a plus...
Blind_Rifleman  [author] Jun 11, 2016 @ 8:04pm
To be honest I wasn't planning on it, however I will look into the turret cameras and the horizon markers on my next set of days off. The cameras have a nice frame, but what should turrets have if it does end up that I can edit those? Just a simple crosshair in the center?
dsmarine Jun 11, 2016 @ 7:47pm
Is there any plan to include the turret's cameras? they stay ugly
Xarniia May 23, 2016 @ 7:55am
Is there a trick to get the horizon working on RCs? (The checkbox is checked! ;) )
Beewee Feb 10, 2016 @ 12:43pm
Thanks, I'll give that a try next chance I get. I'll let you know if it helps.
Blind_Rifleman  [author] Feb 8, 2016 @ 7:47pm
One thing you can try would be to replace the .dds file located in steamapps\common\SpaceEngineers\Content\Textures\GUI\Screens with the .dds file in my mod directly.

To get the .dds file from my mod, just open the mod (ID# 544032930) in an archive extractor like 7-Zip, and open "Textures/Custom/".

It will have to be renamed to camera_overlay.dds and might need to be replaced every patch, but that will force a solution for you. I suggest backing up the original file just in case something goes wrong.
Beewee Feb 4, 2016 @ 12:55pm
So I've installed several camera mods before, hoping to get rid of the ugly grainy overlay that the vanilla camera has, but to no avail. This mod was no different and I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
I've subscribed to the mod, activated it on my world, tried existing and new cameras on large and small grids, but nothing changes.
Anyone else who is experiencing this issue or can help me out?
kaskoby Jan 29, 2016 @ 7:58am
Thanks
Blind_Rifleman  [author] Jan 28, 2016 @ 10:52pm
Just open the mod (ID# 544032930) in an archive extractor like 7-Zip, and open Textures/Custom/. It will contain the .dds file.
kaskoby Jan 28, 2016 @ 11:07am
can i get the camera_overlay dds file?
Drayst Jan 26, 2016 @ 12:19pm
Thanks a lot.

Of course I will link your mod.
Blind_Rifleman  [author] Jan 26, 2016 @ 11:41am
Drayst, Yes you may add my mod to yours, all I ask is that you credit me in your mod discription somewhere. Preferably with a link to this page for the curious.
Drayst Jan 25, 2016 @ 12:43pm
Would you allow me to use your overlay with my mod: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=606674524 for the centered camera?
Galenmacil Jan 20, 2016 @ 11:31am
"A must have!"
Lensflare Jan 9, 2016 @ 7:57am
nice!
Drayst Dec 19, 2015 @ 1:58pm
Will this work for turret controls, too?
Blind_Rifleman  [author] Nov 26, 2015 @ 4:24am
Thanks for the tip! Though it seems to have grown on me how it is, as the ratio between the distance to the edge and the total screen space is the same between horizontal and vertical, and will remain so no matter what resolution it is being viewed at.
Seks Nov 25, 2015 @ 3:10pm
justa tip:

if you take the intended view size of 1920x1080 scale it up so 1080 == 2048 then squeeze it all back into 2048, when the game scales it to fit your screen it, it will appear as you intend.
hisui Nov 8, 2015 @ 8:12pm
okay thanks
Cmdr. DoomForge™ Nov 8, 2015 @ 7:47pm
It works perfectly in DX 11, I can confirm this since I mainly play in that mode.
Blind_Rifleman  [author] Nov 8, 2015 @ 7:07pm
It should work fine in DX 11, but to be honest I have not tested it. I run DX 9 at the moment due to playing on a server with old mods. It is just a single overlay texture file. Normally models need to be converted for use with DX 11.
hisui Nov 8, 2015 @ 10:53am
is it DX11?
Cmdr. DoomForge™ Nov 8, 2015 @ 1:16am
This has been my favorite camera overlay since trying it out! Personally I have no idea why Keen decided they wanted it to be full of static in the view for the game's timeline when we get clearer stuff than that right now in modern times.
