Is it possible to make obsolete units to show in different color?
Catnapping Princess Sep 13, 2017 @ 8:23am
yes
Legodudelol9a May 1, 2017 @ 11:18pm
does it work with modded civs without me having to do anything to the mod?

Leave miniversion and maxversion at 0,999. It actually doesn't matter what the title it is. Only important part is correct mod's id.
manbok  [author] Mar 6, 2016 @ 6:58am
No, you can open and modify it with just notepad. I'm glad to be of help :D

Second solution is safer. Go to this mod's folder, Open .modinfo file, Replace <References /> part to

<References>
<Mod id="a70b4ba7-74de-405c-bb3f-6c9369f29218" minversion="0" maxversion="999" title="JFD's The Kingdom of Prussia" />
</References>

and this mod will go after JFD mod.

No, you don't use alot of mods cause I'm using about 30~40 mods every time ;)
Anyway the problem is JFD's Prussia Civ mod "references" Enlightenment era mod. References are used to assure "mod which reference other mods" goes after "mod which is referenced". Stupidly, I've never thought referencing can change load order. It seems that "mods referencing other mods" always goes after "last installed" mods. And as far as I know (and almost certainly) there's no way to force change load order.

So, the solutions are, deleting reference of the JFD's Prussia mod, or add reference from this mod to JFD's Prussia mod. First solution is simple. Go to the JFD mod's folder, Open .modinfo file, and delete line including "Enlightenment Era". But It could casue problem if JFD mod don't go after Enlightenment Era mod.

Could you tell me what mods you're using? I will test and find out what's the problem.
manbok  [author] Mar 5, 2016 @ 1:19pm
Sorry for late answer and poor English.

I tested it again and it works well for me on JFD's custom civs. I'm still guessing it's mod loader problem. Because if THIS mod loads prior to other Custom civ mods, it only let vanila UU be not obsolete as this mod cannot be applied to custom civs, but only vanila civs. When you select mods which to be activated, and Click "Next" , and after loading, there will be screen with "Singleplay" button and activated mods list below. At this point, this mod MUST be placed at the bottom of the list. You can change mod's load order by deleting and reinstalling. Last installed mod goes last on order. I hope you test it again and things work out.

I guess it's because of mod load order issue. Unsubscribe this mod, Launch and Exit the game, Subscribe this mod again. Try it and let me know if solved.

Perfectly Valid School of Magic Dec 22, 2015 @ 1:21pm
Will the units strengths be the same through the whole game? If so then what's the point of having them in later eras where pretty much anything would be able to take them out rather quickly?

this mod= never ending impi carpets of doom
KW17 Oct 3, 2015 @ 2:29pm
This is great, since many UUs retain their usefulness long after they go obsolete (i.e. the Roman Legion and Assyrian Siege Tower)

@Traveler : Well, I have no idea. This mod just removes units "ObsoleteTech" limits as you can see into mod file. It must be stupid AI's mechanism. I never saw that bunch of triremes yet and I don't know what to do with such weird behavior. Sorry.
Traveler Sep 6, 2015 @ 6:25pm
How does the AI like this? The AI never seems to upgrade its units so will it just keep building tons of hopeles early troops? Ex: played a game where my submarine found about 20 trirenes of one civ all bunched up at the bottom of the map.

This is very nice. I like to have a UU stationed outside my capitol lategame, as a sort of special ceremonial guard, but usually i forget and then its too late. thanks for this!
