Here's another interesting one for you, then. I can't figure it out.

I'm using the Total War RPG mod by Green Raven, which overhauls skills. The modifiers that adjust up unit stats from a couple skills (and Zeal) are broken with vanilla units. They simply do not apply, whether the unit is intended as a general or not. This is with no other mods installed.

But the stats adjust properly with your units, and some other custom units I've used. I first noticed the occurrence with those, and have managed to replicate it with yours.

The Painted Ones have guerilla deployment, btw. I just noticed it, finally got around to using one.

@iHerc Well, see there, that's another problem I still haven't figured out. They aren't supposed to act as generals. I took too long a break from my Total War modding for Skyrim, I gotta get back into it

Fair enough! It wasn't a criticism - just a curiosity. I plugged them in as my general unit and there I was clicking away trying to guerilla deploy them with the rest of the army, and it took me a few times to realize the icon wasn't there. Derp.

So now my poor generals have to run and catch up.

@iHerc There almost is, I had no idea how to give them it. Only recently have I delved into unit bonuses like that and I want to do more in-depth work on these guys and will take care of that.
iHerc Aug 18, 2016 @ 5:27pm
I'm just curious, is there any reason you didn't give this unit and the Painted Ones unit guerilla deployment like the Celtic-wide units all have from their culture bonus?

these swords are not so long :D

Updated! New model and slight altered stats (removed one of their abilities to make them less powerful in that regard, still have the charge skill and warcry).

Deputy Dropshot  [author] Sep 16, 2015 @ 8:16pm
@sam.pidgeon Alright, I will be revamping these guys and my other units before updating them, at which time I will post a comment giving the all clear. I hope you all understand and wish me luck in this endeavor!
sam.pidgeon Sep 16, 2015 @ 10:23am

The axe could split a shield much better than a sword and could pound an armored foe to death without even penetrating the armor.
jamespmullin Jul 21, 2015 @ 5:48pm
Gallowglasses were like tough mercenary soldiers. There would be variety in armor and weapons. For some reason big weapons of two handed use were popular.
jamespmullin Jul 21, 2015 @ 5:46pm
Gallowglasses were a seperate class of Irishmen. The mothers were Irish and the fathers were Vikings.
jamespmullin Jul 21, 2015 @ 5:45pm
Next Gallowglass axemen. One of the primary Gallowglass weapons was a large viking axe.
Brick Top Jul 21, 2015 @ 10:36am
PS have you any other unit mods planned for Celtic factions? Would love to see more, being from Ireland and all that haha.
Brick Top Jul 21, 2015 @ 10:34am
It's still an awesome mod man, the unit looks excellent, very traditional to what a Gallowglass soldier looked like. Will be amazing once you get it figured out, making the unit even more nippy with greater numbers.
Deputy Dropshot  [author] Jul 20, 2015 @ 12:24pm
@Ruby Rhod Well, I have it set to that, I have to play around with the stats to figure out why it drops it to 113
Brick Top Jul 20, 2015 @ 10:28am
It would be awesome if the unit size was like all other units, like 120 for standard :)
PhilipÓ'hAodha Jul 2, 2015 @ 6:32am
thats more like it.
Deputy Dropshot  [author] Jun 26, 2015 @ 7:12am
Updated!
Deputy Dropshot  [author] Jun 16, 2015 @ 7:12pm
@Wuffles You mean the fact that there's no two hand in the game? Thanks though
Boopwuffliesnoot Jun 16, 2015 @ 5:26pm
So far pretty good looking cept they did'nt actually ahve twohanders ingame lol XD no issues beyond that good mod sofar.
Dušan Jun 12, 2015 @ 3:56am
Thanks :D :D
Deputy Dropshot  [author] Jun 12, 2015 @ 3:56am
@CERBERUSCLH So it's just a stat tweak, I can do that pretty easy, I'm just gonna be a bit on the unit cards
Dušan Jun 12, 2015 @ 3:49am
Radious Units have a bit different stats which would be overpowered for vanilla
Deputy Dropshot  [author] Jun 12, 2015 @ 3:32am
@CERBERUSCLH I'm not actually sure what it means for it to be Radious compatible, and as for unit cards I'm still working out the kinks, but I'd be glad to get to work on it
Dušan Jun 12, 2015 @ 3:06am
Could you make radious compatible of your four mods version??As well as make unit cards look like Radious ones if you can.
Deputy Dropshot  [author] Jun 7, 2015 @ 6:38pm
@Kane Well, with the swords they're actually in Atilla, just not supposed to be two handed, however if you sent me a message with the programs I'd need and a short tutorial, I should be able to do it
Blueberryies Jun 7, 2015 @ 6:34pm
I would need the female body models, head models, and the textures that go on those models. You extract the models from variantmeshes/_variantmodels/man/skin where they are usually something like 'female_headarmleg.rigid_model_v2' or 'female_cine_headarmleg.rigid_model_v2' though will differ between rome 2 and attila. These are the raw models. These models each have textures attached to them in 'tex' folder of this parent folder. You open the raw models with a hex editor to find the names of the tetxures then search the textures in the tex folder and extract them. The textures are .dds files.

This is complicated so without experience you probably wont be able to do it. I just thought you might have expereince at it seeing you implemented this longsword I havent seen before.
Deputy Dropshot  [author] Jun 7, 2015 @ 6:12pm
@kane I'd be glad to give the female textures, how would I do that though? (I'm still a little new at this)
Blueberryies Jun 7, 2015 @ 6:10pm
I will make you a long sword to your dimensions and description, sketch with dimensions and notes prefered. You can have quality textures premade by me or blank texture maps or both. Youve seen a short-medium sword made by me alreadly... In return would you mind giving me female body and head rigidmesh models from Atilla? If you would like to make this trade then add me and PM.
RECKLE$$ Jun 7, 2015 @ 2:36pm
good man iv just noticed your work looks good, is that the final product, hopefully there is someone to create new custom sword textures, like the bastard swords from MTW2 (for example)
Deputy Dropshot  [author] Jun 6, 2015 @ 10:34am
@Chum_91 Hey, you wanted a new Barbarian Berserker, and now you have it! (almost) I posted a berserker sword unit.
Deputy Dropshot  [author] Jun 5, 2015 @ 12:25pm
@Leuname As far as the unit you're correct, the animation is for the Falx but the sword itself is the Khanda, a one handed, however because it has gilding just above the guard (the hands cover it) I felt it was the best one to use until I can find someone to make a texture for a new one. Thanks for taking the time to comment with some facts rather than just "Twohanded swords weren't around then -1" or something to that effect lol
Jesus Loves You^_^ Jun 5, 2015 @ 11:35am
I have not time to search if it is accurate or, not.....I think it is, but really looks like the falxmen holding falx (or katana), only replaced by this long swords. Yes, it was accurate the 2 hand long sword, but it was more longer for about 20 cm from what I see here (often the 2 handed long sword had at least 1,30m, was very expensive and so very rare). At this length I think it's a one arm sword......
Deputy Dropshot  [author] Jun 5, 2015 @ 11:30am
@chum_91 I'll try, I've been thinking of trying out a technique for the old Hounds of Culann
RECKLE$$ Jun 5, 2015 @ 10:11am
very good iv waiting for a decent genuine DH sword unit since medieval 2 TW, keep up with them, they are so rare in attila, falxmen and DH axemen mostly just not the same. If your looking for ideas wt about a barbarian badass DH sword berserker, they always were my fisrt choice back then
Deputy Dropshot  [author] Jun 5, 2015 @ 6:27am
@Rikashey It's the Eastern Khanda, the only one to not have a guard that their hands would clip with
Rikashey Jun 5, 2015 @ 1:36am
Looks like a katana
