Easily one of my favourite assets..

No problem - I totally get the work / family thing - take your time and I'll just keep checking back. Meantime, thanks for what you've already given all of us.

I have a model of that one which I can release, but I'm busy lately with work and family, so might take a while.

@ TPB regarding MONDOWORLD's request:
Ooooooh I just read Mundoworld's request for Elephant Ear plants. I lived in Hawaii for awhile and LOVED the huge range of those plants there. They can go to 10 feet tall and are magnificent. Huge and delicately intricate at the same time. Do you think you or Nobiax could make some, please?
Beth2020 Jul 4, 2016 @ 6:56am
Thanks TPB. Love em. They go really great with FERN 1 on the workshop and Mr. Maison's trees in my parks. Keep up the good work. Whatever would we players do without you modders?
Katalepsis  [author] Jun 30, 2016 @ 8:29am
I havent had any problems reported and there are trees with at least 3x as many tris in the workshop, it should be fine. The problem could arise if you plant thousands of them..

Hi TPB. I placed your ferns in a HUGE MEGA-Park in my Cities: Skylines Beginners and Intermediate series's, which I have on YouTube. I think I probably used about 40 of them in each park. Is that going to be okay, do you think?
Meteor Daddy Jun 25, 2016 @ 10:15pm
Actually it's tris are a bit fair unless you spam i...
Mundoworld Feb 25, 2016 @ 9:00pm
It is one of my favorite assets in the game. A big thank you for uploading it and Nobiax for modeling it. I live in Hong Kong and ferns are a big part of the native flora. Do you still have contact to Nobiax? Could you ask him to model an Alocasia Odora aka "Elephant Ear"

They look very striking in real life and I bet they would also look good in CS.

Why are the tris on this so crazy high? Are you going to make an LOD? Please make an LOD!
MrMiyagi Sep 13, 2015 @ 9:53am
I have no iea why this wasn't on my favorites. Fixed! Thanks again for this beautiful fern
Katalepsis  [author] Sep 13, 2015 @ 9:34am
Oh wow just now noticed a Gula comment! Thank you Gula! I'll keep that in mind even though I'm just importing these into the game from a deviantart modeller who let me use them :) I'll be learning how to model my own things in the next couple of weeks!
Katalepsis  [author] Sep 12, 2015 @ 5:18am
Thank you Roq, the model is by a very talented guy called Nobiax, I just imported it to C:SL with his permission :) And btw, I just updated it with Icon/Thumbnail, have fun!
Roq Sep 10, 2015 @ 11:21pm
This is really well modelled - just wish it had a thumbnail
Mr. Meeseeks Jun 1, 2015 @ 6:07am
Please update with icons/thumbs. It's easy to do now :)
Ringus Jun 1, 2015 @ 2:31am
Perfect for covering the bases of palm trees, thank you!
Gula May 28, 2015 @ 1:23am
I'm not so sure that you needed a super high res texture for such a small asset. Its only ever going to be 200 pixels on my screen at any given time, that being said even a 512 texture res may be too high (affecting performance with minimal quality gain) so keep that in mind when you're making things. Overall though, I really like this asset!
AlphaMom May 13, 2015 @ 11:16am
thanks, great work!
Katalepsis  [author] Apr 17, 2015 @ 10:15am
Yeah, it was a compromise, if I made it the correct scale, it would hardly ever be visible at all.
I think i got a good scale in the end. doesnt look TOO big, but its not invisible either.

Although this fern is huge in the game world, it is a terrific addition. Adds quite a lot of little detail to the landscape. More of a large shrub or bush, but still awesome.

Click on my name, then click on guides on the right hand menu.
ABC Guy Apr 15, 2015 @ 10:03pm
Where is it? I'd love to see it. Thanks.
Katalepsis  [author] Apr 15, 2015 @ 8:44pm
I made a guide for that : )
ABC Guy Apr 15, 2015 @ 8:34pm
How do you mod the dirt out?
Katalepsis  [author] Apr 15, 2015 @ 4:18pm
I would really love to, but if you read the description you'll notice these are not actually my models. I am being granted the honor of sharing them with you. All I do is slightly modify the model. Tweak the textures, import into the game and mod the dirt out. But I assure I'm trying to learn how to make them myself, if I am successful I'll grant all your requests. For now, stay tuned for a quite large variety of mostly smaller plants(not trees). Remember to rate if you like it, fav and share :) Thank you.
DRen72 Apr 15, 2015 @ 4:08pm
This is awesome. Please make conifers...spruce, cedars, various pine trees, etc.
