I'm hoping this gets fixed soon, game crashes whenever I place any of these welders. And they were so useful....ah well.

Also the big L-shaped one needs better placement in survival, I need to be able to see the conveyor ports.

my game crashes everytime i place any of the 3 welders, i do have a ♥♥♥♥ ton of other ♥♥♥♥ active too but just thought id mention something.

@Kienata Hi, I am trying to implement your workaround, however I cannot seem to find the cubeblocks file for your mod on my system. any ideas where it should be, or can you offer the full block description to add somewhere?

@Kienata your comment about fixing it still works to this date. I can now place the welders without making my game kill itself, so thank you for that.

Sure wish someone would update this mod, "Ship Yard Welder" has it's issues, this was my favorite Large Block Welder it had great reach to build large ships.

@Killer96 In cubeblock.sbc add <Definition xsi:type="MyObjectBuilder_ShipWelderDefinition"> in place of <Definition>. At the end of the definition add <SensorRadius>6.4</SensorRadius> or whatever value youd like. Id also recommend adding a PCU value. Fixed, enjoy.

It keeps crashing my game when i place any blocks from this mod to the game, the error i get is Exception occured: System.InvalidCastException: Unable to cast object of type 'Sandbox.Definitions.MyCubeBlockDefinition' to type 'Sandbox.Definitions.MyShipToolDefinition'.

love the mod, but i think the latestest update broke it, if i have this mod selected in a world any blueprint that contains the mod wont load into the game.

I hope you find a way to update it Killer. I love this mod. It's a lot of fun. I even wouldn't mind if the glass wasn't part of it. I like the rugged industrial look. I use it for a shipyard!

@ BSteurful This is the same issue as my old conveyors. Keen changed it and it overroad my glass settings. I have tried to change them but nothing has worked.

Could this maybe be update the mod to match the new style? It's a really cool mod but the glass is not showing up so it basically looks like a huge plonk of metal bars with lights ;)

Bug report

Summary: Active welding assembly halts assemblers when active, with or without a ship in welding range.
Long: My assemblers wouldn't pull ingots, and after running through the standard checks (ownership, conveyor system integrity, etc) I ran through mods. I notice I had a welder assembly, a little wider than the example in the 3rd image, active, with a large ship partially constructed (I had run out of thruster components and figured they'd be used as they were made). After turning it off my assemblers functioned as normal. I then tried removing the ship and turned it back on, assemblers stopped pulling again. I tested a vanilla welder and it did not halt the assemblers.

If I need to file this bug report elsewhere let me know. I love this mod BTW, I hope it sticks around.

I have no idea how this thing works. beams are invisible so i dont know if im close enough. i float through it and it sometimes pulses a couple blocks then just gives up and goes back to sleep

I'm currently having issues with these welders creating from projection. It seems to start the projection, but then stop after welding a few blocks even though there are valid weldable projected blocks. Anyone else in the same boat?

@SoulTechnology - Try changing the nano bot settings. Make them do do more work and move faster, and just balance with power or less nanites. This helps speed up the game a lot when using that mod. Not sure how to help this mod though.

Anyone having problems with this mod? It welds just fine, but wont start a new block. You have to start the block before it will weld it. It was working fine with the projector last night, but today it wont work right.

Killer96, I have some strange issue with your welders and wanted to show you something I used them on to give you a suggestion. They have way way too big a repair area that spans way past their limited space.

@forcedminer Welders don't push ships. However, if you were using a piston of some kind to push the small ship blocks through, then its possible that the mass being added to the ship caused it to clang up.

tried to mass produce some small ships by making a small ship with a projector...

[since devs can't be bothered to make large ship project small ships]

I flew it into one 1/4 piece weilder started making the ship only for it to be violently and powerfully flung off in a random direction throwing me inside an asteroid unable to escape.....

I feel like space engineers has changed it ♥♥♥♥ once again... :/
feels like weilding now pushes ships slightly....like grinders...

stuck inside an asteroid wondering how many years this game will be in developement for versus how long it will be known for....

In the second image with the single length block, those black slots there. Why don't you place the blades from the actual grinder in all of those spots, even if they don't stick out and do stuff, it'd be a different graphic. You can also switch the current welder to use the same tip in those slots as the game welder. Just an idea. :P You can add me on steam if you want, and we can talk more about it.

Do you think you can make a fly through deconstructor as well? With grinders throwing ships every which way making it entirely impossible to salvage any ship now without cheating with gravity mass blocks (also doesn't entirely work anyway) and other such issues like no pistons or rotors allowed in the game (because the devs don't know how to fix them), I need a way to deconstruct ships as well as construct them.

I figured out how to use it, however pistons pushing my projector through while the ship was being built caused it to break randomly and fly across space at 360 m/s :/ Pistons and Rotors are broken in the game, so I have no idea what to do at this point.

What sucks is KeenSWH ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the texture system with DX11, now not even the game core solar panels have reflection, and I can't make mine have reflection again either.

I keep having to remove mods because some mods are broken and cause random ♥♥♥♥ to happen. :/ Seems like this game has a whole lot of abandon mods lately.
