Same issue as SlipperyPete. You can press and hold ALT to make the UI appear again, and then save and exit if you wish to.

Yeah they shouldn't generate in trader inventories. That needs to be fixed.

I have noticed that if I send a caravan to a settlement, if that settlement happens to generate a research paper as one of their sellable items, it makes a research paper with no name whatsoever (just a blank space I can only tell it's a research paper by the icon), and then the UI completely crashes (trade window, menus, the entire UI is gone) and I have to restart the game.

Can you please make it so research papers do not show up in vendor inventories, or at least that they are generated properly so they don't force a restart?

I really like this, but I wonder if there's a way to expand on it. after all it is a little bit strange that my colonist who spent all his life growing devilstrand all of a sudden forgot all he knows about devilstrand because of a lightning strike. I know this is also infinitely harder to implement, but it would be cool if pawns carry the knowledge of techs they use (at least for a limited time), and if you have to research a tech and someone in your colony knows that tech, you should get a speed bonus to get it back.This could kinda work alongside oral tradition stuff other folks have mentioned.

Once this has proper VFE Tribals compatibility this will never leave my modlist. Maybe make un-erodible stone tablets for neolithic techs and medieval parchment for medieval tech and you'd be golden. Great job man

@Miia I believe that's an issue with Map Reroll in general, rerolling tends to despawn staring scenario items.

This is such a simple but fucking sick mod! Researching always felt kinda eh, but combining this with some other overhaul mods really transforms the whole thing. I love the idea of having to build a knowledge vault for your colony.

Works slightly incorrectly with Map Reroll - upon generating the original map, the research papers spawn, but upon rerolling the map, the papers are nowhere to be found (but the research is still available, despite the papers not existing on the map).
After exiting the game/saving, then loading back in, the papers spawn in the middle of the map, as described in the FAQ.
Not really an issue, but maybe the spawning logic can be looked at.

I second Deon. This is such a good way to have functional libraries but unfortunately it looks to weird for medieval runs. Maybe just steal the paper texture from MO? I dunno if you can do that or not. I’m just suggesting. This mod is awesome btw.

no idea, tried this mod+vfe tribals+research reinvented, had no research issues o.O the fire research paper was there as intended, the papers spawned uuhm idk somewhere, i think at my chunk table. once it spawned after loading a save, so i guess if your papers dont spawn save/reload is always an option to try first. gotta say though i didn´t pick the custom vfe tribal start, but changed the faction to wildmen in a customized vanilla scenario. and i havent tried destroying a paper, maybe thats the incompatibility?

im adding this to save after playing a little bit, i have VFE tribals installed and i saw another comment say there was an issue with the "fire" research being destroyed. upon going into dev mode i deleted the fire research and its fine? am i misunderstanding something or does adding it after the initial start overcomes the issue

Yes, but the problem is that they worked with them. (I deleted Life Lesson because I couldn't get it out) After deleting it, this happened, but if this is the only problem, I'll remove Trible too, it's not a big loss

im sadly going to have to deactivate this for now, it's impossible to properly preserve the research papers using the triblal start with vanilla factions expanded tribal so i lose the bedrock on which all tech research stands when the fire paper is destroyed. I will use it for any future modpacks i use which dont have this issue.

Yesterday everything was fine, I safely merged my colony and went to bed, today, I want to create a new one and I get an error with this mod (I searched for the reason for a long time, and was very surprised when it fell out). I literally can't go beyond the "idiology" window

When going to another colony during Archonexus quest, is it possible to take the research paper with you to not start all over again? It is even in vanilla pretty tedious to lose you research, but when modded this is not really an option...

It's an old bug we fixed yesterday, make sure the mod is updated by unsubscribing, verifying it's gone, and then resubscribing. To get duplicate books out of your savefile, open your savefile once without Research Papers (which will destroy all papers), save, and reload with Research Papers installed.

its fine to remove mid save, didn't do anything to my colony, however saving and reloading duplicates all research papers forever for me. cant use it anymore, but it can be removed no issues at all
