I am in love with this mod. I cannot build a decent looking ship to save my life, So I often blueprint them and build them from the workshop. However my biggiest issue has always been getting enough fuel into the ship afterwards to dock it to my base to then fully refuel it.

Thanks to this mod I have designed a simple system suspended above my projector area, Using the custom turret controller, some pistons, a rotor or two and the pully system and a magnet plate. I am able to print a ship, Lower the system, Attach it. lift it up, Rotate it and then line up to a connector and connect it directly to my base.

Took a minute to get used to using the custom winch arm. Almost destroyed my newly printed ship on the first go. But now I cant live without it. Amazing mod!

Yeah, I just got this problem myself. Recolouring/repainting the pulley breaks teh game, it seems. The only way to recolour it is to just remove it and then play a new one with the colour and texture you want.

I can confirm that painting any pulley base once placed with the paint gun mod causes the cable to extend infinitely in the negative direction, putting a massive load on the system. Too weak a system will lock up. Moving far enough away will cause the game to lock up. Delete the pulley base and the game will lock up. If the game does lock up, whether from painting, travelling or deleting the block, I've found that if you go to the taskbar, right click the game, and select close, then wait, the game will eventually respond and allow you to save.

Quickly saving and reloading resets the cable to its proper length. I've not had a save corrupt, but maybe Nexus' game was partway through saving when it crashed. Interestingly if you paint a pulley base with the paint gun, save and reload, then that pulley will function normally and can be repainted with no issue from that point on, but any that were not painted with the paint gun prior to saving and reloading will still bug out and will need to be saved and reloaded. Pulley tops can be painted just fine.

Current issue I found with it. Painting. If i paint it, it causes the world to crash and the world has corrupted twice now. Dont know who else has this issue.

I tried to lift cargo with this.. I cant go up, I tried to use multiple Pulleys but its not working, This pulley have a max lift cap?

I have little issue with this mod :( If I want to use pulley system and event controler for opening floor door can't work. I want to open door after puley extended specified meters, but if pulley continuos extended counter reset to 0 and started showed extened meters from 0- so event controler close doors :(

There is a formatting issue with the sound fine, which should probably be addressed, it is an SE requirement to be put into mono:

Ok so would sharing tensor help the 1x3x1 stop going crazy once you extend it on a locked hinge? I placed the hinge for the pulley on the ship to where it is located between the pillars of thrust and where the ships center of mass is balanced. Just trying to see if I can get this to work out for its intended purpose.

Okay... not sure why or what is doing it, but repainting any existing pulley already placed on a large grid is making the cable part extended into infinity lagging the hell out of me and eventually crashing the game. If i quickly save and reload the world it returns to normal though.

and the other side cable migth be bcs you ahve 2 of them together and when extended the top one is outside of the render area so it just moves back all of them instead of despawning

for the scripting part that on psycho but for the elevator i can only recommend you to change the size im sorry but the pulleys as it stretches the physics quite a bit is found to be quite centre sensitive which is inherent issue with all pistons in future i plan making a kit for elevators that will use the pulley but taking this month break from modding working a a lot of project at once XD other thing you can try is put blast door blocks on the end of the elevator so to work as kinda lead for the elevator

I know the mod is most likely not intended for servers, but I have a bug where the pulley cable will extend in the wrong direction indefinitely.

Rejoining does fix the issue, but this occurring after use of the pulleys, (and sometimes just lookingg at it) sometimes is annoying.

I know you are not likely focused on making this work in servers, but you could potentially make a fix where it does not try drawing the pulley infinitely. I do know C#, so I could investigate this myself if you are busy.


Also I am wondering if you could make the collision of the "Large Pulley Top" and "Large Pulley" slightly smaller, as I am using the large pulley in a 2x3 block elevator shaft in the configuration in the image below and it appears to keep clipping into the wall.

Yeh, something about the collision is interacting with itself and we did try to fix it from within the models but to no avail. I'm still looking into that. T.T I also really need the 1x3x1 buuut.... Klang said no so. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

works very nice, only thin I noticed is that the small grid 1x3x1 pulley really doesn't like extending/retracting while on disabled hinges/rotors, it just starts clanging out, I'll maybe try again with more weight at its base, but the 3x3 works fine.

Just to be clear, I am looking for a mod (pulley) that I can attach at one end (to a solid block) then extend and attach to a floating block to reel it on to the solid block. So that I can use a welding plate. I think I am looking for something more like a grapple (winch). I KNOW that mod doesn't work. Can this mod be used for what I am trying to do. At minimum, be able to wrangle something long enough to position it to be welded? The pully feature could also be useful when I am trying the merge (a station to a base) without Clanging into it. *OR* is this just a redesigned piston? I need pull, not push.

its based on piston but cant move items through it as trade it got massive range which allows for big elevators for underground bases or if you want to chain them having elevators from orbital station down to planet

while i do get that the port version would be nice the blocks are intended as pulley you can move power through cable but no items and we cannot, and we cannot leave the space in between empty bcs of the piston specific collisions and having single cube extend into 200 cubes is just way to immersion breaking

Hey I'm loving these things, but I recently repainted my ship and now it's like the cable is fully extended so it's sticking through my entire ship. I'm assuming it was the painting because I hadn't noticed it before...Any advise other than replacing it?

hey i do plan to make elevator kit that uses this pulley but give me about month ok i have decent amount of projects in my bucket and ps sorry i plan to flood release once i finish all the projects release them all at once XD

Just a hint since I'm too busy to write a programmable block code myself, you have the set max and min positions now, you can utilize this with buttons and LCDs. E.g. you can make a cabin out of small grid with a few buttons, a button that increases the desired floor and will print that number out to screen and a button to decrease the floor, then a button to activate the elevator and the code does the rest. you'd have to perhaps add offset adjustments between floors and the 0 floor position to align it to the rest of the grid. Sounds simple, is not. xD

Well, you can use a programmable block and either make a cabin with buttons or download some of the elevator cabin mods. In mean time, do pester Daniel to make a proper elevator cabin with buttons inside to match the pulley, I would like that too

Dude! This mod made the perfect elevator without destroying other blocks. If you manage to make a block that works with this that allows buttons to be used inside the elevator. Like a 4 way corridor with button access for elevator usage.

thank you all for the support im quite proud we managed to get to the spotlight even though we released so late in march

and yes the pulleys are way better for stations like deep asteroid or planetary base thx to the range as you dont need as stated before dozens of normal pistons for it on ship its unstable but thats bcs of keens logic as the piston extends it also moves your ships centre of gravity which cause the spin heavier ships are not affected as much and if you build ship to be very top heavy it helps too

If the cable has good physic, its is actually more usefull then pistons, since your lift ships that turned in ground, easier. Doing it with pistons is a pain.
