added a patch. If the issue persists please let me know.
If you are not using the vehicles experiencing this issue and this patch is unnecessary, you can disable the harmony patch from the settings menu.

@Rabiosus That's epic! I spent hours looking into the class section of the vehicles but turns out I'm looking in the wrong direction. Looking forward to your patch!

I’ve gained some insight into the cargo box issue.
To be precise, the problem doesn’t occur in vehicles with turrets, but rather in vehicles with more or fewer than two roles.
It works fine in the standard setup with just a driver and a passenger, but when the roles include a driver, gunner, and loader, or just a driver, the holderIndex referenced by the cargo box gets misaligned.
I’ll try creating a patch when I have time.

That said, while I prefer to keep talk about specific commision prizes in private, I'll offer @Rabiosus double ($200) for the rights to merge this original add-on, because, as I said before, I'd much prefer him to get the money.

Also I want to clarify - in case it was unclear - that merge doesn't mean that the original mod needs to be removed, as it should keep existing for the sake of RV with built-in PD. I absolutely do not want to interfere the modding community, only help make it better and smoother for all.

@Eragon001

No rip, the accepting mod author is required to start from scratch. I just thought the added transparency of telling the mod market about this context would be nice. While code is copyrighted, the idea of a dropdown menu is universal, and was already on our list to be added prior to the release of this add-on. I've also already mentioned that I would be commisioning a mod creator to add it to Rabiosus, no need to ring the alarm lol.
Eragon001 Jan 10 @ 8:34am
Just so you are aware, Enrico has posted a post on the Rimworld mod market to essentially rip your mod into his. I'm not sure how you feel about this, but I'd figure I'd let you know. This is pretty disgusting behavior in my opinion, after you clearly rejected it earlier in this comment section.
Rabiosus  [author] Jan 9 @ 2:51am
Thank you, I was able to reproduce the issue.
It seems that this problem is not caused by this mod but rather by the framework itself. However, considering that the original RV does not have any turrets, this is likely not a bug but an issue stemming from an unintended use case.
All I can suggest is to avoid using cargo box with vehicles that have turrets.
kittyshusky Jan 8 @ 7:22pm
I think what Dice means is that when the vehicle has turrent(s), the "Vehicle Cargo" building spawned from the "Vehicle Exit" is not usable. In my case this is happening for all vehicles with a turrent: I cannot load anything that is in the vehicle interior to the "Vehicle Cargo", and nothing within the actual vehicle cargo hold is displayed in the "Vehicle Cargo" building. There is no error log when this happens, so I guess this may be because cargo is handled differently for vehicle with/without turrent. I remember <Vehicle Framework> itself used to have some bugs about turrented vehicles not loading cargo properly as well.
TACTICAL D-0GGY Jan 7 @ 2:33pm
Cargo? Yeah, I sure hope it does
Rabiosus  [author] Jan 7 @ 11:07am
what is "cargo"? please provide a more detailed explanation.
Dice Jan 7 @ 10:27am
the cargo cannot work when vehiche has more than one turrent

It's there now. So either I'm blind or it didn't appear until I'd opened a game with it enabled. All good now.

Where are the settings? This mod doesn't show up under Options->Mod Options
Rabiosus  [author] Jan 5 @ 9:15pm
Um... this mod is just a patch mod.
It's basically an XML patch with a settings screen added.
What this mod does is simply edit the DefDatabase to add the RVwithPD.CompProperties_RVwitPD component from "RV with built-in PD" to specific VehicleDefs to create interior space for certain vehicles.
Reporting compatibility issues with Pocket Dimensions here won't help, as there's nothing I can do about it.
aciel.samael Jan 5 @ 8:13pm
Update since I did some testing myself: Pocket dimensions and vehicle interiors: You can NOT set up a pocket dimension inside a vehicle interior if it was initialized anywhere else, it throws massive errors and kills Rimhud. (Unless you create and initialize the pocket dimension inside the vehicle and never move it.)

However, you CAN safely transport pocket dimension boxes inside a vehicle interior even if you use the launch function, you can then set them up at the new map, pack them up when you are done and transport them the same way back home. Just never try to install the box inside the vehicle.

Now I just need the Rimworld of Magic/Jecs Tools and Vehicle Framework issue to be resolved and I can play this game fully once again.
aciel.samael Jan 5 @ 5:53pm
So just curious, but I ran into an issue with Pocket Dimensions and Vehicle Framework wherein if a pocket dimension box, the map item that serves as the entrance to the pocket dimension map, is on board a Vehicle Framework vehicle that has a launch function like a space shuttle, then the pocket dimension is lost as soon as the launch ability is used, (vanilla drop pods are fine to use though), does this submod have the same issue if it's used to add a personal dimension to something like the shuttles from SOS2 or the Frog from VVE?
Rabiosus  [author] Jan 3 @ 7:56pm
@Rapturous no. If it were my own mod, it might be a different story, but adding a feature that could potentially break someone else's mod is quite reckless.
The best approach would be to propose removing the minimum size restriction to the original modder.
Rapturous Jan 3 @ 2:32pm
Would you consider adding the patch as an optional toggle in mod configs?
(Maybe with a warning that you can't assure proper functionality or that things won't break when it's enabled)

It may be that it works fine in many circumstances and could be offered without support.
Would really appreciate it, as I would love to add interiors to many vehicles where 7*7 is just too much and I'm sure many people will feel the same way.
Rabiosus  [author] Jan 3 @ 1:40pm
@Rapturous I did some research and decided not to implement a patch for the minimum size in this mod, considering both skill requirements and safety concerns.
Creating a patch to add walls during map generation seems too difficult for me.
The 7x7 restriction is hard-coded in the RV with built-in PD code (CompProperties_RVwitPD.MapSize).
I can create a Harmony patch to remove this restriction, but I can't predict what kind of issues it might cause. The fact that there is a minimum size restriction suggests that sizes smaller than that could lead to some problems.
Rapturous Jan 3 @ 11:46am
I noticed the minimum size was 7*7, however there are plenty of vehicles that could logically have a small interior, like vans for example might be suitable at 2*3, or an APC might be suitable at 3*4, but 7*7 just feels hilariously large for those use cases.

From my understanding the map size is a technical limitation, but would it be possible to implement a work-around for that by automatically placing extra walls inside to accommodate smaller interiors by using up some of that space?

For instance if the value was 6*7 then a single additional row would spawn filled in with walls. At 5*7 two rows spawn filled with walls, at 4*4 it would be two rows and two columns, I'm sure you get the idea. (As a bonus, I'm pretty sure the player wouldn't even be able to see the extra walls due to fog of war).

Regardless, Cheers Rabiosus! Really appreciate this mod, hopefully smaller sizes can be made possible for the immersion of small vehicle interiors.

@Dumbuk
A rejection here dissapoints not only me, but the 12 thousand subscribers of my mod, and the reasoning behind it is misinformed, so I'm explaining that with some additional context.

We're simply having a conversation - I'm not outright rejecting denial. I can pay another modder to make a vehicle selector, but I'd rather give that money & credit to the original creator, considering this mod works out of the box anyway. :winter2019happyyul:
Dümbük Enişte Jan 3 @ 7:46am
@enrico Dude, learn to take no for an answer lol.
Enrico Jan 2 @ 11:37pm
Here's a link to my mod in question btw, in case you haven't seen it.

@Furia's "RV with built-in PD" mod is copied 1:1 into my RV mod, and many improvements are tacked onto it.
Enrico Jan 2 @ 11:20pm
You wouldn't have to, future support is on me, I take full responsibility.

Besides, you also wouldn't be supporting multiple mods to begin with, because the mods are the exact same under the hood, and no modifications will be made to the RV mods that will break your mod.

Trust me, this will require no work from your end.

If you want some Steam points or money to help seal the deal, we can do that as well. Please add me as friend :)
Rabiosus  [author] Jan 2 @ 5:26pm
@Enrico I must decline. It’s not because I want to be mean, but because I don’t want to support multiple mods. Having to verify functionality for both the original assembly and the one in your mod with every update would be a nightmare.
tbh, this is a mod I created for personal use so I’m not planning to provide detailed support for it.
Enrico Jan 2 @ 11:54am
Already got it working! Just give me the word and I'll publish the update & I'll add you to the mod's authors list. :happy_creep:
Enrico Jan 2 @ 11:06am
To reduce dependencies, I'd love to merge this into my Movable RV w/ Interior mod, if you wish to help accomplish that! I've added you as friends. :) You'll be added as an author to my mod as well.
Rapturous Jan 2 @ 10:59am
This is wicked cool! Any chance you add compat for this (Moveable RV w/ Interior) as an alternative?
