Actually, maybe the armour penetration would fit more on lightning breath than fire considering it's lower base damage
Arakamira May 26 @ 5:31pm
Frost breath edges fire out simply because of the debuff it applies, considering that the chance to crit debuff it applies allows the breaths themselves to crit, what if fire also had innate armor penetration that scaled with upgrades, or started applying oiled when you reached hardmode? I feel like oiled is an awesome debuff that doesn't ever get used
Turtleren  [author] May 26 @ 4:35pm
Fire breath has the highest damage of the three crowd controlling breaths, to my knowledge- it should hold up DPS-wise against the others, but I realise that it may be a little weaker than expected considering the utility of the other breath types.
I can give it a little buff to help it out~
Cuban Dictator May 26 @ 2:08pm
Is there any chance the Fire Breath would be buffed at any point? Compared to the other breaths(ice, electricity, even life to some degree), its DPS is somewhat lacking, even as a crowd control option.
appleoddy May 20 @ 3:53am
Thanks, we'll give that a try
Turtleren  [author] May 19 @ 6:30pm
There is a config in the L'il Dragon server config to disable riding restrictions, so any race can mount any other race. It won't make your dragon invisible, but it will let you utilise the mounting mechanic despite all playing the same race!

Specifically, the config is 'Ignore Mounting Restrictions' under the 'Mounting' section of the config.
appleoddy May 19 @ 5:43pm
I was wondering if it would be possible to have dragons the same size ride each other? Just where the dragon doing the riding is invisible so it doesn't look weird.
Me and my friends are all dragons, but kind of want to also try out the riding stuff too.
Turtleren  [author] May 17 @ 9:02pm
It's handled only by the breath power gems. Dragon breath attack damage won't scale with any class (or classless) damage boosts.
T. K. Bold May 17 @ 6:38pm
Speaking of breath types, does Dragon Breath count as ranged, in terms of trying to increase its damage with percentage gear? Or is that exclusively handled by the breath crystals?
Turtleren  [author] May 15 @ 7:16pm
My modding is admittedly slowing down a bit as of late, but I’m still going in some capacity, at least! As always, trying to keep things highly configurable too.
The statue stuff is situational- it’s not for everyone. Outside of roleplay, it can be useful for a lazy summoner or dedicated tank in multiplayer.

And @Y.E.S, there is no way to change breath colours outside of also changing your breath type. Each breath type has its own unique projectile with its own colour and will probably stay that way.
Shuffle_Box May 15 @ 6:35pm
Been a while since I have touched terraria, was nice to come back and see this mod is still getting updates. Also am glad to see config still allows customizing most stats and mechanics to how anyone wants them. ^^
Reading back like 20 pages worth of change notes, seems like there are quite a few new mechanics and items to try out and mess around with. Admittedly, I never have really touched or understood the statue stuff. I guess I simply prefer my dergs not petrified. x3
Y.E.S. May 3 @ 2:18pm
There is any way to change the breath's color?
Dym0niter May 3 @ 10:37am
would a vanity item that is white (and can be dyed other colors as well), but keeps the underbelly / wing-insides the color you chose at character create be a possible idea to fix it? i would love to be able to make a proper white dragon
Turtleren  [author] May 2 @ 5:31pm
Main reason is to help the sprites look a bit more vibrant with most other colours. And yes, a LOT of MrPlague's Races do this too.
But the consequence is that 'full white' isn't possible.
Dym0niter May 2 @ 11:57am
when trying to make a white dragon, it instead shows up as light blue-ish. is there a reason for this? (this isn't the only race that does that). i can technically use the dyable vanities, but it just hides all texture, and doesn't look as good
Turtleren  [author] May 1 @ 7:04pm
Wings are actually already dyeable! Just add a dye to your equipped wings and the dragon’s wings will get dyed too. They do need to be ‘real’ wings, unfortunately- dyeing the fake dragon wings vanity item won’t work to my knowledge.
If it looks odd, you can try enabling an alternate wing dye mode in the mod’s client settings and play around with what looks best for the dye you’re using.
LadyLone May 1 @ 7:34am
I'll like to suggest dyeable wings. There's vanity pieces to dye the rest of the dragon's body, but far as I can tell, nothing for wings. This means that I could use more normal dyes on the wings just like the body pieces and they'll show up as intended.
Turtleren  [author] Apr 27 @ 8:54pm
The keybind is the Tertiary Racial Ability key from MrPlague's Authentic Races. The default is 'C', but it may also be unbound.
You can change the keybind where you change the other game keybinds, under Settings > Controls > Keybindings. Should be one of the sections near the bottom.
Trainer_Lucario Apr 27 @ 6:52pm
How do i use the amulet that petrifies u whats the hotkwy or how do u bind it?
Cherry Apr 21 @ 10:59pm
Could be a weird interaction with something else I have but when I equip the mooncharm in a vanity slot or have visibility enabled the whole dragon body becomes invisible. Like just the head legs and wings showing
Turtleren  [author] Apr 21 @ 7:54pm
I'm not sure what the precision seal is, but I can add a config to toggle off hitbox modifications done by this mod if it helps to get around the hitbox issue.
Also, I haven't had any issues with the werewolf/merfolk transformations myself (I'm assuming this is about the Neptune's Shell and Moon Charm items) asides from the fact that they will hide the dragon's armour and not actually turn the dragon into a werewolf/merfolk, which is completely intentional.
Cherry Apr 21 @ 4:42pm
Can we get a compatibility patch with fargos precision seal? Im pretty sure the hitbox modifications this mod makes override the precision mod. Making ohko bosses virtually impossible. Also the werewolf transformations break the character sprite.
LadyLone Apr 12 @ 8:22am
If there's one thing that annoys me about this otherwise great mod is that the base textures of the dragon are not purely white. What I mean is, if you set the color to #FFFFFF in character creation, it's not purely white, but there's some light blue in there. This seems to noticeably cause a few other colors like cyan and pink to not show up entirely as expected. And this isn't just the dragons either but your other race mods like the unicorn has the base sprites not being pure white. It's especially noticeable with say, the unicorn mane. Which can make it annoying or impossible to get the exact shade of color you might want.
Blue Yoshi Apr 11 @ 2:51am
I have an idea: a Dragoquin. It's like a normal mannequin but dragon shaped. Could be useful for showing off dragon vanities or just for decoration.

how do i summon a dragon
daniel.close Mar 23 @ 4:40am
I would likely need more than a few tutorials and a semi-guide for the structure to work with to be able to do so Stepover, I am not really a great spriter. :x But I could give it a try.
Stepover34 Mar 23 @ 4:28am
@daniel.close, if you can create the vanities yourself i think Turtleren will implement it
daniel.close Mar 23 @ 1:11am
I personally hope for it myself but I can entirely understand how difficult it might be to draw up the sets. Maybe I should put up the suggestion on your discord and see if the community for the mod share the same sort of interest? It could lead to all sorts of potential!
Turtleren  [author] Mar 22 @ 6:02pm
Possible, yes, although drawing new armour sets is a fair amount of effort and requires a kind of motivation that I don't have a lot of right now 😅
Funnily enough, a lot of the armour sets and vanities in the mod are actually contributions by the community!
daniel.close Mar 22 @ 1:11pm
I actually really like this mod, but I have to ask... would it be possible to add some more custom dragon vanities? It'd be neat to make yourself look like a dragon that belongs to the other biomes (corruption, crimson, hallow, mushroom etc) or have a mummy vanity work to play as some ancient mummified dragon for desert silliness. Bonus points if you can let yourself petrify into states befitting those extra things!
Axecalibur Mar 19 @ 10:56am
in theory the stylist and dresser could change any glitches that change appearance

A while ago I actually wanted to make items which would let you transform between the different races I made.
Unfortunately, there's a *few* issues that pop up when you try to change race if the two races aren't designed in a way that supports such a system (eg. the L'il and B'ig dragons were specifically designed to work when changing between the two types).
So in short: nope~
Axecalibur Mar 18 @ 6:46pm
I keep using dragon, but my hooman looks cool too. could you add like, an amulet to change back here and there if that's not too much? I'll mostly use dragon but hooman looks cool with armor :terraria:
ERROR2401 Mar 15 @ 5:36am
I just had another idea for a race
a feathered raptor that would probably focus on agility and touch-and-go kind of fighting
maybe it'd have a similar size to the dog/fox races, along with the lower max health they have
AlyxxAe Mar 14 @ 4:23am
@Turtleren, I thought that was the issue too, but it seems that it works perfectly in singleplayer, but everything messes up in multiplayer, all the blocks change ID and so do the items
GGTavern Mar 13 @ 2:18am
It works fine for me too, but calamity keeps assassinating this mod for my friend.
I'll try to get an error log.
Turtleren  [author] Mar 12 @ 8:31pm
@AlyxxAe, I haven’t had any troubles with the flute myself when playing with others. The name seems to stick around between sessions and when traded to other players just fine, so I suspect it may be a mod conflict of some sort.

@GGTavern, I haven’t personally tried my mod with Calamity recently, but previously it seemed to work OK. An exact error log would be useful here.
GGTavern Mar 12 @ 2:41am
calamity seems to hate this mod. I don't know how I got it to work, but my friend can't get this to work with calamity.
GGTavern Mar 12 @ 2:36am
any chance this doesn't work with calamity? it comes up with something by the lines incompatible.
AlyxxAe Mar 12 @ 1:32am
not sure if its the mods i have, but when i try and give my friend the dragon flute, or if i drop it or put it in a chest, it unnassigns me
GGTavern Mar 11 @ 2:22am
last time It wanted me to remove this and all its dependencies.
GGTavern Mar 11 @ 2:21am
huh? the second time I try to load multiplayer it actually loads?
Turtleren  [author] Mar 9 @ 3:30pm
I've been playing using all of my mods with various folks in multiplayer and I know many others have too. You might want to check if it's actually this mod causing the problem, or even a mod at all.
GGTavern Mar 9 @ 2:18pm
Cannot play multiplayer
ERROR2401 Feb 25 @ 6:39pm
Honestly, my art stuff is driven by the exact same things, so I can't blame you.
Turtleren  [author] Feb 25 @ 5:00pm
Definitely in the realm of possibility in terms of things I *might* do.

My modding is almost entirely driven by whatever random bursts of inspiration and motivation I get though, so like a lot of things it’s a “Probably not, but I won’t deny the possibility” kinda scenario :)
ERROR2401 Feb 25 @ 6:41am
ah, okay.
wait, that does give me an idea that can use vanilla actually
the basilisk enemy/mount maybe?
Sorry if I seem annoying or persistent about this.
Turtleren  [author] Feb 24 @ 10:39pm
Probably not, since it's already a transformation. I feel like most of the work is already done there :p
