Dockyards provide 1 Heavy Manufacture each, meaning that depending on your trade law, you can use about 1/3 to 1/2 of your dockyards for capital ships.

When using this mod standalone, Heavy Ships and Carriers still require the "tank workshop" resource from the tank overhaul mod, but no nations seem to have start with any, and I don't see a way to build any. Am I missing something?

Thank you so much. I am sorry if it seemed unreasonably aggravated in my previous comment, but I had spent quite a bit of time trying to find out which mod was causing the issue, and could not find a way to disable the event, and As far as I can tell this was never even mentioned as a feature in the steam page. tbh I never even saw ship commision in the production view.

If you open up the Ship Commission Tab, there should be an option to Auto-Refuse or Accept those events. If that does not work as intended, I will fix it

Is anyone else having an issue where every single month a dozen nations are asking you to build ships for them, and no matter what you say the repeat the event every. single. month. its extremely annoying and makes this mod completely unplayable as there is seemingly no way to disable it nor is it even mentioned as a feature in the mod.

One of the things that's always annoyed me about the sonar modules for subs is that they only give a boost to sub detection and no boost to surface detection.

The submarine sonar will be reworked in the next update. (Shameless Advertisement: Join the Discord if you want details on it) The reasoning behind it was that Submarines in WW2 only carried hydrophones, with active sonars only becoming common in the Cold War.

But as I said, as the module is only designed for Surface ships, the system will be overhauled in the next update.

Thanks for responding. I'm also uncertain if you're supposed to only be able to equip the lowest tier of sonar ("Type 124 ASDIC") on UK submarines. Even though I'm only equipping one module, I'm unable to save the design as it says that "The design cannon have more than 0 Type 144 ASDIC modules" (or "more than 0 "Improved Sonar modules" or "more than 0 Advanced Sonar modules").

The Special Projects are still a bit underdeveloped as of now, so thank you for bringing these issues to my attention! I'll work on fixing them in the next update.

As for the Belt Armor, the thickness mentioned in the tooltip is nation-specific. I believe that you quoted the British modules. Other nations might have thicker or thinner armor descriptions. Also, there is a Super Heavy Armor module as well.

I've also noticed that for Project Habakkuk (the reason I restarted HOI4), the error "Modules of category Runway Reinforcements are not allowed for the slot Deck Armor" appears, preventing me from saving designs.

I've noticed that the BB Belt Armor module goes from 13 in - 14 in - 14.7 in - 14 in extended, but perhaps the last one could be changed to either 16" like on Yamato? It feels a bit off to see the armor thickness decrease.

Have you modified the naval management AI, such as allowing them to better organize fleets and perform the tasks that they supposed to do? For example, let Italy compete with Britain for control of the Mediterranean as long as possible.

The module slots covering the ship's hull is so you can feel like you are placing turrets and torpedos onto the ship itself, giving you some more control over its layout than vanilla. In other words, no, you can't view the ship itself, but the modules "form" the ship themselves.
As for refitting, this is because at the start of a match, a lot of designs are created, most of which are broken. So in order for them to not clutter the production tab, they are mostly designated as outdated. You should be able to recommission ship designs by clicking the round, grey button in the top right corner.

I've noticed that refitting an old design, say, the V&W class, causes new designs (e.g. Battle class) to become outdated. Also, the module slots cover the ship itself. Is there still a way to view it?

Um... apart from the fact that the Panzerschiff Admiral Graf Spee is missing at start, the Panzerschiff design template is missing entirely. With the Deutschland and the Admiral Scheer both designed as Admiral Hipper-class Heavy Cruisers.

Alright, a hotfix is available. It should prevent the game from crashing, but if you still experience issues, please let me know. This is not a permanent solution, but I am working on another update for the mod.

Not just that, any civil war it seems!
Game immediately crashes when the Spanish Civil War kicks off even if this mod is the only one active.

I can confirm what Monte Cristo says: once you complete "Regroup the Wehrmacht" and fall into the German Civil War, the game crashes.

There seems to be a bug where this mod causes the game to crash upon completion of the "Rally the Wehrmacht" focus in the German focustree.

just wanted to let you know that this mod and the compatch seem to conflict with "More Industrial Concerns": when all are activated, the tech shows up just fine, but some of the features added by "More Industrial Concerns" are no longer available

The mods do work at the moment, the compatch sort of does too, but... The tech is a bit wonky, in this one specifically armor schemes are hidden right behind heavy ship hulls for an example, and god knows what else is missing... Looks like an easy fix though! Just, don't forget to add air-independent propulsion II and III please! Submarines without them for some reason seem way more vulnerable...

As far as I can tell, I even played around with them and it seems they aren't all compatible. I have the Rt56 tank overhaul, Rt56 navy overhaul, and BBA Air overhaul, with the compatch active. I guess I'll check it again, but the navy stuff just isn't showing.

Not sure if I should post here or on another mod page. But for some reason all the Navy tech (Ships) has error messages present. I have the Rt56 Navy, tank, and Air mods all combined with the compatch, yet this issue is showing and Idk what exactly is wrong. I can't research new tech for navy.

If this is a known issue lmk.

Thank you for your kind words! It is always great to see people enjoying my work. Sadly, I am not very confident in my ability of making a compatch for Kaiserreich. I might get around to it at some point, but you should not get your hopes up as I am busy with working on a lot of other stuff.

I would also love a Kaiserreich coompatch. I'm well aware that there is a Kaiserreich naval rework mod out there, but it doesn't even scratch the surface of what your mod is doing.
Your mod is one of the most brilliant mods around imo. For a navy enthusiast like myself it's the only worthy succesor to Naval Rework mod II and actually allows the construction of historic ships!

Version 1.1 "Mahanian Doctrine" is live! There are a lot of changes which you can check out in detail in the Change Notes. As always, with such a large update there are bound to be things that are broken. If you encounter bugs, please report them!

Right now, only the 6 major countries have had their starting navies converted. If there are any changes, having to rework many navies would delay updates by a lot. So my plan was to get working on the starting navies of smaller countries as soon as I am sure that I will not implement any further changes that might break them.

If there are any more people who would like to see the starting navies of certain countries to be updated before then, please let me know. We can work something out.

As of now this mod currently removes all equipment off of every ship that Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, the Baltic Nations, Poland, and China. Just to name a few. Will this be fixed in the near future?
