How do you use the advanced pots?
M2 Bradley IFV 31 jan om 15:24
Great creation tho, I enjoy the little details like the freezer room and etc. Cheers

Hey mate, I'm having issues with power. It ran great while i put the pots out, loaded about 700 crabs, but after that, trying to head to the sale point, the battery slowly depleted. I don't know what i did, but the battery is depleting on full speed. Gets to a point where everything looses power. Any fixes?
Gatete56 10 okt 2024 om 6:34
@XxwhirlwindxX, he refers to the inclination to port of the ship, what he did was put a stabilization system on it
Pugnacity 3 okt 2024 om 2:54
Awesome crabbing boat man! Super easy to use
victimiser 14 sep 2024 om 15:20
The pots just sink instantly how do i stop that from happening?#
XxwhirlwindxX 13 sep 2024 om 8:48
Hey werwolf, not sure what you meant here?

"Created a space under the bottom deck on the starboard side with fluid pumps for bilge in and bilge out,to counteract the port list after loading crab." Could you explain it another way?
Thomas Kirkman 12 sep 2024 om 11:07
Werwolf.
Agreed. I love this vessel, but I have the same issues. Pots shifting, list from loading crab, and off-loading being a pain in the . . . . The fact that SW can't seem to put cleats or bollards down where people fuel and offload fish, you know, where people actually NEED to moor a vessel and keep it stationary, makes the need to hold fish vacuum steady even more important.

Jed_Sanders, please make these corrections or allow Werwolf to upload these fixes. GREAT vessel. Well done.

R u uploading it

Made a couple of edits to the ship - for those that have basic shipmaking skills, here's what I did.

Raised the height of the pot guardrails on all of the pot storage, and added a middle rail so pots don't slip out onto the deck or slip off the top of the pot stacks. It does make storing pots harder, but use the camera by manning the front station and turning off the pot data system. I can store a pot in less than 10 seconds.

Created a space under the bottom deck on the starboard side with fluid pumps for bilge in and bilge out,to counteract the port list after loading crab.

Doubled the bow thruster controls onto the bridge, so you can properly line up the ship on pots if you have human deck crew.

Put a "fence" around the bow hopper so you can go to offload and lower the vacuum onto the hopper and the fence will keep the ship from drifting away from the sell point (anchors are also set during offloading)

there is a lean to the boat
Werwolf 28 aug 2024 om 11:54
Fantastic ship.... I downloaded and immediately ran a full string, waited a bit, recovered the string. Have about 800 crabs in the tank. TONS of fun to use. Only thing I noticed is it really likes to lean to port for some reason. It didn't start out that way - only maybe when I started filling the crab tanks? I could be wrong there, but have fully stacked the pots back on evenly (never used the "dumb" pots, only the "smart" pots) and she has a pretty good 20-25 degree list to port. Any ideas?
Wartater 27 aug 2024 om 21:12
it just spontaneously combusted and crashed stormworks did i do something wrong
gossen.leonard 27 aug 2024 om 10:24
she still stands!got hit by a megalodon and she still stands!

First, let me say that this is my favorite build on the workshop so far! What fun! Congratulations and keep up the good work! Some thoughts though. It lists really heavily to the starboard side, so maybe a counterweight to port-side would be warranted? Possibly a few ballast blocks? Also, an explanation on how to use the AP you included? I'm unsure currently how to get it navigating to different locations. If you have any help that would be much appreciated! Again, keep it up! I can't wait to see what you build next! :steamhappy:

the hopper hatch breaks every time i open it
gossen.leonard 26 aug 2024 om 18:29
How do you reattach the buoys to the starboard side
XxwhirlwindxX 26 aug 2024 om 15:04
Is there a Ballast control?
BeanBoi 26 aug 2024 om 8:34
how does the autopilot system work?
RedneckRepublic 26 aug 2024 om 8:09
Hey Jed, im currently making my own version and take on a crabbing/lobster boat. I love the idea of your smart pots and im wondering if I could use them with giving credit.
peterbilt389yt 25 aug 2024 om 12:00
has major port list
Chernobyl 24 aug 2024 om 20:20
Where is the Steam engine? The boat moves its just the battery.
The Nameless 24 aug 2024 om 18:00
You must not have started the steam engine. Steam-electric ships don't tend to get far if you only use the electric part.
Chernobyl 24 aug 2024 om 17:08
The battery drains so fast
Jed_Sanders  [auteur] 24 aug 2024 om 12:56
No Fuel, runs on recycled steam.
For fewer pots, you can delete the standard pots and space out the remaining 12 or less smart pots. Will help with performance also.
MonkeyMan 24 aug 2024 om 12:23
so it doesnt take any fuel?
SerpienteRecia 24 aug 2024 om 3:46
For those not being able to move the ship after starting it up, first you have to wait for the boiler's temperature to climb avobe 120 ,and second, press the "w" so the ships engine control switches from stop to forward, or from "STP" to "FWD". It shows in the black screen with green letters right avobe the helm.
SerpienteRecia 24 aug 2024 om 3:40
Hello, this is a formidable vessel, I love it. It's really productive, speedy and reliable making it comfortable while at sea for a long period of time. I would like to ask if a downsized version of it (You know, fewer pots, smaller size in general) would be something the author could be willing to make a reality.
Snakkipvp 24 aug 2024 om 1:13
How do you recover the pots?
MeatLoaphious 23 aug 2024 om 20:30
can you make but with diffrent engen {sorry for the misspell}
gossen.leonard 23 aug 2024 om 15:52
Also maybe evenly distributing the pots will fix weight issue
gossen.leonard 23 aug 2024 om 15:51
Why are pots different
ggreenwell08 23 aug 2024 om 15:30
wont move engine started but will not move an inch:steamsad:
Anti spiral 23 aug 2024 om 12:58

The Nameless 22 aug 2024 om 21:43
So is crabbing vanilla now or do I need an addon?
chills...bro...chills 22 aug 2024 om 18:13
probably the best ship ive used for fishing but is there a reason its tilting to the left nothing wrong about it just got me curious
Bri'ish 22 aug 2024 om 16:44
(If/when you want to (or have the time)
Bri'ish 22 aug 2024 om 16:44
Incredible, thank you. Also, please could you add recovery instructions.
game_clips1 22 aug 2024 om 14:28
do you think you could make another extenstion with a winch on it it still doesnt go very deep so cant do realistic crabbing
game_clips1 22 aug 2024 om 13:53
amazing
the toxic mat 22 aug 2024 om 6:06
ware do you find crabs
CorkieJ 22 aug 2024 om 4:24
What's the procedure for recovering the pots? Also I deployed a red pot but it doesn't appear on the pot data
Chernobyl 22 aug 2024 om 4:20
W boat
DanielJT 21 aug 2024 om 15:24
Fantastic boat, best crab fisher available imo. I would love an explanation on how the joiner is supposed to work.
Mad_Boi177 21 aug 2024 om 8:59

Updated with more static roll stabilisation.
