oh sorry btw BEAUTIFUL work on this ship, looks like a true successor to the mk1, you did an epic job making it just right! i love the looks, the details, absolutely great build!

so crazy question, is there an easy way, to stop the AI from getting ahold of this? and just to verify, does that thing shoot 2 volleys worth of sappro missles, or are they scaled down in power to match the strength, could i get some deatails, im almost afraid to give this to either of those factions. PIO maybe, they could use some help, at times. but the terrans are FINE! the xenon is my over run galaxy NEVER even seem to phase them from reaching out to their nromal size, and also run the reduced sector start, terrans are just OP as it is in terms of handling all but the absolute biggest xenon attacks, and if terrn just has a second fleet around they are perfectly fine. i played timelines, the sapooro is amazing! the idea of something strong, makes me happy, i want it, but i don' trust those terrans with it ya know?

I updated some of the values of the Sapporo Mk2 to match Timelines Sapporo and the flight model update. If the ship behaves wrong in some way, please let me know.

@DemonicReaper, I want to keep this true to vanilla values. If I were to buff the values here, those missiles might outclass everything else in the vanilla game. Please feel free to edit their stats to your liking on your end.

@Gniwu I never thought about that. I will look into this when I have some Extended Free Time (TM).

Love seeing this ship in my games! Too bad there is no voice-over for its name when you click on it... Although I wonder if there wouldn't be a relatively easy fix available for that, since soundbites for 'Sapporo' and 'Mk 2' already exist in other places? Or is that not as trivial to do as I imagine?

Would it be possible to make the missiles a bit faster? I’m using the 'Reimagined Missiles' mod, and even heavy torpedoes are about 300 m/s faster. Increasing the speed would make them more suitable as a powerful anti-fighter weapon.

There is some strangeness going on in my save, the sappo mk2 blueprint is duplicated on the blueprint purchase list, and the launcher is under the XL tab with 2 entries (one of which is the description). The launcher is also under the weapons tab and appears normal there. https://imgur.com/a/EPGRYji
No matter which blueprints is purchased the sapporo only appears once in the build order list with it's launcher as normal, so it's probably a minor thing.

Hello,
Would it be ok for you, if i uploaded the VRO edit of your mod i made for myself on Nexusmods and maybe here aswell? Obviously with credit and link to the original here. A short list of what i have done and plan on potentially doing in the future.
- Added VRO internal shield ( though that one is still making trouble every now and again)
- Rebalanced the missiles fired from the launch array of the ship to be balanced in VRO
-Added the ability to install the Sapporos turrets in the Sapporo Mk2
- Potentially add a second missile type to the array, that is comparable to torpedos, just adjusted
and balanced for volley fire from the sapporos launchers
Looking forward to a reply and hope my ideas are ok with you.

They can also download X Tools from Steam by searching their library for it. After launching the program via Steam, select "Catalog Tool" in the launch options.

Continued:
Once the files are extracted you can delete the ext_01.dat and ext_01.cat files of the mod.
The mod will work the same when packed into .cat or unpacked. But keeping the catalog along with unpacked I presume might cause issues, cause the mod files would be doubled and I don't know which would take priority. Remember to unsubscribe to prevent steam from redownloading the files.
Now that you have the mod unpacked you should be able to delete the files in question to prevent TER and PIO from using the ship.
I'm not sure if it will automatically delete all patrolling Sapporos that already spawned or not.

To unpack a catalog its best to use the X Catalog tool, you can get it here:

Once you get the tool running, set the root folder to be the folder where the mod catalog files are located. So, /Steam\steamapps\common\X4 Foundations\extensions\terran_missile_destroyer_sappas
Afterwards use the Import catalogs button and select the only catalog there is in the mod folder. Select extract all and select the same mod folder as the destination. Below is a screenshot of how the tool should look like before you extract.

I think if you delete shipgroups.xml and jobs.xml in terran_missile_destroyer_sappas\libraries, the AI should not build any more of the ship.

I like how it looks like a military Sapporo, without spinning (Sapporo had spinning because it was a exploration ship), a destroye of a generation before the Syn.
So first: VRO please?
second: Turret version? (you could make the patrols with one missile and one Turret)

+ you should add a screenshot of the description of the ship and launcher

Looks like a kitbash ship from Jovian Chronicles, something like the Iwo Jima, The Athena, The Javelin, etc. A great pen and paper RPG every sci fi interested in games like D&D should play.

The Sapporo is a homage to that ship from X:BTF! And while I do like the spinny thing, I think your "modern" interpretation of it looks great and very fitting to current TER aesthetics! Well done!.
I can't say anything about the balance of the ship, though. But I will sign the VRO petition.

sapporo has the spinning thing because that's what the terran capital ship in X beyond the frontier had in the opening scene.

The reason why I removed it was to have the ship in line with other technology available to TER and PIO - they do not appear to use spinning sections on ships of similar size. The mk2 still stands out as it doesn't have a ring section like the Osaka, Tokyo, Honshu, Okinawa and Hokkaido, however I think it kind of matches the Syn visually.
I guess the reason why Sapporo (from Timelines) had that section was to make it look cool and distinct. The in universe explanation might be that it was a civillian/research ship which needed to create artificial gravity in a relatively cheap way.
Further, a spinning section that large might be a problem when maneuvering.
